Anyway, I've been to Bahrain twice in about 2 months and unfortunately stayed in Mashtan hotel again, like I seem to always do. Quite a few ladies, some quite nice, and some old dogs as well that I can't for the life of me understand how they expect to be in this business. I have never had any major problems in the Kempinsky. I have been there four or five times with no difficulty when I have met guys in the bar. But, once the guy wanted to meet downstairs in the lobby, and when he arrived he went to reception to check into the room. The receptionist wanted to know who I was and demanded that she scan my passport, but having scanned it she was OK and I was allowed to go up to the room. We told her that I was the guys colleague and I was going to be in charge of organising his visit to Bahrain which she seemed accept without question.

Last time I was there the bar on the first or second floor? Had some very useful and convenient little booths, like alcoves, which we found very helpful!

In general 5 stars are a bit scary based on maybe allowed maybe not!

But most of them are ok but needs a bit of malleability and tact!

Once I was dining in Gulf Hotel.

Way out I asked bluntly the desk man if allowed or not.

The reply was who said it is not.

A month after I asked by telephone and the reply was no.

But I am sure it is ok.

I have been to Trader Vic's. Never been lucky! Dono if it's just me.

I don't think Traders is a place to meet.

Usually individuals only pass and see if they could have a catch there but usually its couples drink and dine!

I just want to add the Kempinski Grand & Ixir Hotel. There are lot of facilities like swimming pool and spa. Staffs are accomodating. Their foods has lot of cultural varieties. They have a special promo now, if you stay for two nights in their Deluxe you will have a free rental car for two days. The car will be delivered to you upon arrival at the airport.

Yes Holyday Inn Express is green. You may park and access to your room without anybody asking. Read my previous report posted around May.
