Iran moves to execute porn stars

TEHRAN, Iran — Iran's parliament on Wednesday voted in favor of a bill that could lead to death penalty for persons convicted of working in the production of pornographic movies.

With a 148-5 vote in favor and four abstentions, lawmakers present at the Wednesday session of the 290-seat parliament approved that "producers of pornographic works and main elements in their production are considered corruptors of the world and could be sentenced to punishment as corruptors of the world."

The term, "corruptor of the world" is taken from the Quran, the Muslims' holy book, and ranks among the highest on the scale of an individual's criminal offenses. Under Iran's Islamic Penal Code, it carries a death penalty.

The "main elements" refered to in the draft include producers, directors, cameramen and actors involved in making a pornographic video.

The bill also envisages convictions ranging from one year imprisonment to a death sentence for the main distributors of the movies and also producers of Web sites in which the pornographic works would appear.

Besides videos, the bill covers all electronic visual material, such as DVD and CDs. Other material, such as porn magazines and books are already banned under Iranian law.

To become law, the bill requires an approval by the Guardian Council, a constitutional watchdog in Iran.

It is widely believed that the drafting of the bill came about as a reaction to a scandal last year, when a private videotape, apparently belonging to Iranian actress Zahra Amir Ebrahimi and allegedly showing her having intercourse with a man, became available across Iran.

The videotape was leaked to the Internet and released on a black market DVD, becoming a full-blown Iranian sex tape scandal. Ebrahimi later came under an official investigation, which is still ongoing. She faces fines, whip lashing or worse for her violation of Iran's morality laws.

The unnamed man on the tape, who is suspected of releasing it, reportedly fled to Armenia but was subsequently returned to Iran and charged with breach of public morality laws. He remains in jail.

In an exclusive interview with the British newspaper The Guardian early this year, Ebrahimi denied she was the woman in the film and dismissed it as a fake, made by a vengeful former fiance bent on destroying her career.

In recent years, private videotapes have increasingly been leaked to the public in Iran, riling the government and many in this conservative Islamic country, where open talk of sex is banned and considered taboo.

However, porn material is easily accessible through foreign satellite television channels in Iran. Bootleg video tapes and CDs are also available on the black market on many street corners.

Just some info.

Prostitution is alive and kicking in Iran (Tehran). You cannot take a woman to a hotel or serviced apartment. Your only option for mongering is to rent a private apartment, but do it via your Iranian friends. All apartments have "watchmen" who report to the local police. Foreigners usually stay in the upmarket neighbourhoods of Tehran and US$ 5 in local Iranian currency is enough to keep the watchman happy.

SW scene - YES it does exist in Tehran. 6 to 8 PM around Vanak Square , Mirdamad Road. Again, as a foreigner you cannot distinguish between the average woman getting home or a pro. You will need your local contact. The method is simple, SW's usually hand out 20 m in front or away from bus stops / share taxi pick up points. You will see potential punters crawling along the road in their cars (traffic in Tehran is anyway a crawl in these places) , roll down the window and speak to these women.

Prices 400,000 to 600,000 Iranian Rials (US$ 1 = IRR 9150 approx). These are usually very "quick" max an hour and service levels vary.

All upwardly mobile Iranian men have "contacts" of at least 3/4 women on their phones. These are very private "incall" only services, very discreet . Usual price IRR 700,000 to 800,000 for 3 / 4 hours. Again service levels vary.

Usually the men have a "friends" house or something similar and call these women over.

Expats living in Tehran have it easy, most decent Iranian women are looking for a "expat" friend for the visa. North Tehran has a fantastic party scene , but you have to be moving with the "in crowd". Private villa's in Karaj host great pool parties, and the women have to be seen to be beleived.

Once you are in the scene , there are weekend trips to private villa's around the Caspian as well as private houses about an hour's drive away from Tehran towards Shemshak (ski area)

There are no websites, newspaper ad's. Those who visit Tehran regularly and have local friends are the ones who enjoy Tehran the most

Will the "Taj Mahal" hotel allow single ladies into your room? Probably not. You will have to get a private flat or apartment. I am surprised that you have not seen any action in 10 visits. I have never been to Iran but I have been following the social/cultural developments. The UNICEF report quoted by another monger confirms the info I have collected. Iran has plenty of young ladies who are modern and fashionable. All women have to wear the "chador" when outside. But young ladies, most likely than not, will wear a mini-skirt or skirt beneath the chador.

The well off Iranian families visit London in the summer. It is a treat to see these chicks....the chador gets tossed before the plane lands and they are showing their legs and ample cleavage.

It is sad that the a few mullahs can supress freedom and hold back the whole country.

All my local contacts tell me that there is good action here and promise to organise something for the next trip. I traveled there more than 10 times already and nothing happened so far.
