Tehran, Iran, Oct. 10 – A senior Iranian cleric in the city of Qom called for death sentences to be handed down to prostitutes, a semi-official daily reported on Monday.

“Those who try to spread prostitution, corruption, and sins in society must be dealt with”, Ayatollah Nasser Makarem-Shirazi, one of the highest-ranking clerics in the holy city, said.

Shirazi said that drug dealers were among those who were spreading corruption in society, according to the hard-line daily Jomhouri Islami.

“These people are Mofsid Fi-Alarz and must be dealt with under Islamic law”, the senior Ayatollah said. Mofsid Fi-Alarz literally means “corruptors on earth” and under Iran’s Sharia law is punishable by death.

“If everyone feels responsibility for the orders of Islam, no one will dare to spread prostitution”, he said. “Anyone who stays silent in the face of social disorder and centres of corruption and prostitution has actually betrayed Islam”.

Ok, guys. I think i have to write in here.

I visited Iran in 2001 around Sept on official visit by my co. There was a local guy(Co. employee) who took me around for meetings & stuff. He has been there for a long time, speaks good farsi and has an Iranian wife . I was staying in Co. flat and was there for almost 8 days(Iranians work for just 4-5hrs max.6hrs a day and u cant get much work out of them in a day). Anyway, i met him for the 1st time but got pretty friendly with him & learnt a lot through him about Iran, life-culture etc. During one of our discussions, he mentioned about prostitution there and even asked if i wanted some booze, which he eventually got for me(Vodka - Apparantly they smugle it frm across the n.border-Caspian sea is it?). Iranian girls v.v.beautiful are quite friendly and approachable but there are a few problems here - Firstly, language is a serious problem(v.few u/stand english); secondly, if someone catches you, you're SCREWED! So when this collegue asked me jokingly if i was intrested in friendship with Iranian women, i declined but quickly added "isnt it v.dangerous anyway". He said yeah, but we can do it safely. 'If we get 1 in the flat quitely no one would know'. I asked if he knew anyone, and the answer was YES SIR! By this time he knew i wanted it but was scared, so he assured me again-I agreed. He got this young beauty(cant recall her name) who was studying in University, and also spoke english - good enough to have a foreplay conversation. Man, She was really nice, humble & exciting. I did her twice in 1 hour while my friend waited in another room. 2nd time infact I asked her to wear the burkha(Iranian one is a bit different frm those in other countries) - just 1 of my fantasies!!! She costed just US$35 but was worth a $100. I tipped her another $10.
When she left, our man was v.careful and went of the flat on the pretext of checking the electricity meter to make sure no suspicious eyes around.

Was one hell of a trip, but one word of advise - DONT TRY THIS IF YOU DONT KNOW ANY LOCAL PERSON THERE. I wouldnt have but for this guy - God bless him!!

The visa run to Kish Island doesn't happen as much as it used to. Since the plane crash in Sharjah last year UAE Immigration changed their procedures so that no so many people need to leave the country to change their visa status. I know several guys from immigration and they say the only ones going to Kish now are those that are trying to get around paying extra fees.

Having said that you'll still see a Filipinas or other girls that obviously aren't from there or aren't normal tourists. Probably the best chance of getting one of these is to find out in advance which hotels they normally stay in and book your stay there. They'll definitely be cheaper places so you should be prepared to go downmarket. But at least this way you'll be moving between rooms in the same hotel and you can avoid any issues with the front desk.

Even if you go to those lengths I think the chances of mongering fun are pretty small. It's a waste because the island has nice beaches, good diving, swaying palm trees and mostly sunny weather. Maybe a future generation of mongers will have more fun here.

Have been in Kish one and half year ago. I confirm there is almost nothing to do. No alchool, no discos, no life. Only big shopping malls, not attractive for western people.

But, there is a chance to find "working ladies".

All the *****s who have to renew visa from Dubai come to Kish. Usually they do not travel with a huge amount of money, and they stay in cheap hotels. They usually sleep in two or three in the same room, so, if you are lucky, you can "rent" the entire room for the night with all its contents! And the rate is of course much cheaper than Dubai.

Spent last Thursday-Friday weekend here. The scuba diving was pretty good but that's about all I can recommend here.

Coming to Kish was just a second choice afterthought. I had really wanted to go to Shiraz and see the Persian ruins at Persepolis. But the Iranian government plays politics big time with visas for US citizens. They wanted $120 plus 30 Euros for the visa agency. The processing would take a month and US Great Satans are required to have a guide. So I gave up on that and settled for Kish, which is a special free zone and visa free for up to 15 days.

It's a free zone but it's not free where it counts for mongers. I got an inkling of what it would be like when the 2 women on the flight (half hour from Dubai, 525 AED round trip) were asked to put on scarves before going through immigration. The most daring getup I saw in two days were some trousers on a thirtyish woman going just past the knee. A lot of the girls do wear the scarves almost falling off, so maybe things are loosening up for the future.

I asked about getting girls at the hotel (Shaygan) and they just laughed some and looked at me funny. This is one walk of shame I definitely wouldn't want to chance. In my time there I didn't see any streetwalkers and was never approached by anyone offering illicit fun. The night life consists of a few billiards halls and coffee shops with sheesha smoking. Or maybe you'd prefer to join the groups of guys just sitting around looking pathetic. At least I caught up on my sleep. I chatted up some guys working in a cargo office at the airport and they said they knew some secret bars. There's no alchohol at all otherwise. I also asked about girls and they were like "Yeah, sure, ahahaha!"

One possibility is the numerous Filipinas and other nationalities who are on the island waiting for their UAE visa renewal. Of course they would have to be a bit foolhardy to risk getting caught and thrown in the Iranian clink. They and the Indians fill up most of the cheap hotels. Most of the people in the nicer hotels are Iranian families and a few foreign businessmen. So not much chance of shagging a fellow traveler either. In the malls I made some eye contact with some girls but they moved on before I could chat them up.

Others may come after me and get luckier but I wouldn't count on it. There's not much chance of it and even if you do find something getting caught might get you in a world of trouble.

As I said the diving is quite good but it's not so great that it merits a special trip here. It's just good coral, reef fish, eels, etc. A full day of diving costs 750,000 rials, or just over $80. You can use dollars or UAE dirhams for most things in Kish. Diving by the way, may give you your best chance to see Iranian women interacting with men and wearing something as revealing as a wetsuit. On my day it just happened to be all men.

So I'll be happy to get back to going out in Dubai, which is probably the best place in the world for finding Iranian women anyway.

I am only reporting what was said publicly in a radio interview in Montreal ( Canada) by a Canadian doctor of Iranian origin, Amir Khadir, who came back from a visit to his country of birth this year ( 2005) to say that the young in Iran are not interested in politics but more in economic improvement as consumers.

He went on to say that prostitution has increased and he certainly knows what he is talking about : he still has relatives in Iran and he is a doctor.

There were several stories in CNN and BBC recently about poor women who got killed for a lot less then prostitution in Iran. Even for not wearing the full body covering cloth they can get severely punished.

Don't fool around with Iranian women, beside the personal risk to yourself (and it seems there is indeed a REAL personal risk in bedding women in Iran), you will almost certainly be condemning the poor women to death, maybe even for just being seen with a foreigner like yourself.

Its not worth it, knowing some poor women can get killed because of it.

If you are in Iran and you are super horney and cant hold yourself until you get back to your home country, just cross the border to a more liberal Muslem country and do it there, where there is no risk of death. There are some Muslem countries in the Gulf area who are much more liberal about prostitution.

I had been to Iran but never ever even tried for some action.

Two things you may consider:

1. You put yourself under severe risk and any penalty will be according to local law (sharia).

2. Do not forget the girl! Actually while we are foreigners we may escape, but not so the girls.

The girls there are marelous, but be ralistic. This is not a country for some fun.
