The Alfa / Mtc scam is years old. I unfortunately learned the hard way. Once bitten, twice shy. Every time I see it on the profile of someone on Tagged, I send a message asking are there still suckers out there who would fall for their scam. Those who speak enough english to reply, laugh off and admit there ARE still quite many out there.

The rates will not go down till the "Khalijis" have packed up from their vacations and gone home. The horrendous amounts of money some of these girls ask for always makes me wonder if there are people paying up. No doubt there are but they are definitely not from the local scene. Sex starved Gulfites perhaps.

For sometime now, I knew these were fake ads who tried to get you to send them a recharge card in return the girl would talk to you on the phone for a hookup at a later date. However, I never had a proof they were fake nor I read anywhere to confirm that these were scams (I guess people who got scammed were too embarrassed to write about it).

One of the many messages I sent on tagged one of the girls replied with a message and her number saying that if I send an mtc card for 10$ she would talk to me, and setup a date for intimate encounter bla bla. After about 5 or 6 email exchanges where she insisted that the 10$ is to make sure the guy is serious and would not bullshit etc etc. I insisted she open cam to make sure she is who she claims she said sure and gave me hotmail that I chatted with her but the cam would not open (1st clue). She kept saying she is accepting but don't know what is happening. So later that evening I decided to go all the way and sent her a 10$ mtc. Sure enough she called me and we talked a bit on the phone and asked when I want to meet, I said maybe sometimes in the next couple of days. One day I was free and asked her if she was and said sure and she has a place in hamra and would cost 50$/hour (hehehe there is your second clue). I called when I was in hamra and she said she is waiting and gave me the address to the building which was close to White house aparts. I got to the building and called to ask what floor she told me 9th floor but I should get 1 mtc recharge card for 50$ from the shop in same building (3rd clue) I refused and said I pay cash, she replied with lots of begging and that she does not like cash as she might get mugged and robbed bla bla. So I said fine, I proceeded to purchase the card. I was insisting to go till the end plus I figured the shop was in on it. The shop turned to be closed and I got the card from another shop close by, she did not mind, I guess the shop was not in. I took the elevator to the 9th floor which incidentally was a smelly shit hole. Full of syrians and god knows what other nationalities. It was creepy. I called her and said I am there she said give me the card number. And that was a no no at this point (final clue) I said open the door and take it she said no. I said knock on the door so I know you are there, again no. I said I give you all numbers except last 4 which you get when I see you, again no. I was sure she was not in this building and probably not in beirut! I said to her f* off I am reporting this to the ISF and hung up! I sold the card back to my friend the next day who happens to have a cellular business and thats the end of these mtc / alfa scams. The ads on facebook and tagged are so many that I am sure they are scamming many people and making good money. So there you have it!
