Thanks Moshe, that's also my (recent) experience. I was in Tel Aviv last week after almost 10 years away from "Eretz Israel", and the degradation of the scene is truly depressing. Back then the providers around the Old Bus Station were rarely older than 28 yo - and if they were then they'd provide all kinds of little "extras" for almost no surcharge to stay in business. These days... that part of the scene is basically a festering garbage collection, full of druggies and BBWs past 50.

I also went to some of the places that have been recommended on this site (thanks guys!) close to the southern third of Ben Yehuda - BY38, Pinsker 42 and Bograshov 12. I agree with other posters that B12 is a bit of a dump, with girls operating in small cubicles, with tiny shower cabins and a debatable hygienic standard. Same here. There are parts of Tel Aviv that I never saw before I started hitting some of these apartments in the last few years.

I was actually a little shocked when I realized how many places like Ben Yehuda 38 or some of the places along the route walking from the Central Bus Station to Allenby there were before I started to be interested in these places in 2002. It changed my entire perspective on Tel Aviv. Sort of like waking up and finding out that your grandmother acted in porn films in her 20's or something.
