I'm expecting to be in Dhaka for one week from Monday 23rd July. I think I am being booked in to the Rupshi Bangla Hotel. But can probably intervene and make my own booking if there is a good reason too.

I've spent 30 minutes or so reading the forum here and it's brought a smile to my face. I didn't think that there would be much action, but there seem to be a few spas which would be perfect. Reasonably priced too. Plus other options, I'm sure.

A couple of requests for advice though:

- it looks like my place of work will be about 500m from where google maps locates "Kawran Bazaar". The reports on this so far seem intriguing, I would prefer to pay a bit more for VIP quality girls, not so concerned about the location / rough around the edges type places, it's the girls that matter! Any advice on how to get there would be welcome via PM. Plus approximate costs if possible.

- is there a hotel with a more convenient mongering location than the Rupshi Bangla, that is still relatively easy to get to my place of work? Or are the loose girls in the bar at Rupshi a good enough reason to stay there?

I will be heading out and about in the evenings. Is the scene open until late or do places close early in Dhaka?

There are two / three guys operating that joint near Westin, but due to ongoing construction work, they have moved temporarily to Uttara (near airport). I do have their contact numbers, but my country's central bank haven't allowed online transaction via credit card yet. So, I couldn't become a subscribed member, so, unfortunately I can share it with you. I also have contact of other supplier who can send WL to your room at Westin.

However, you can always get a few WLs in the bar of Westin, Radisson, Regency, Sheraton (now Rupashi Bangla) and Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel. And never pay more than 3000-5000 Bangladeshi Taka or 50-60 US$ for 1-2 hours.

Karwan bazar is the place to go. The hotels in the area are packed with girls. They have the 'market' type and the 'VIP' type. The VIP types are quite good. There was one particular VIP that was like a model. Prices are low enough that you can try several.

I spent a bit of time in Dhaka in recent months and the best option for any mongers is probably the massage parlours. There were a couple that I would recommend: Avera Spa, which is in Road 11, Baridhara, and Reera, next to the Lakeshore Hotel. At the Avera you are guaranteed a HJ with each massage, the girls won't be shy in asking you if you want 'extras', although they are not model-types by any means. I think they are from the Garo tribe in Bangladesh, so oriental in looks. There was one younger girl with a great smile, but the other two were not blessed in the looks department. Though a good option for a nice massage and quality HJ. They don't rush you either. Price was BDT2, 400 for the massage and they won't give you the HJ without a BDT1, 000 tip (they might ask for more if you are new, but stick with BDT1, 000).

The Reera Spa is much more quality set-up, quite classy (for Bangladesh) and, again, you can get a good massage there if you want just that. Girls are a mix of Banglas and Thai girls. I went there three times: first time I asked for extras, and the Thai girl was only to willing to help. BDT1, 000 tip for a nice HJ. The second time I got the Thai manager, who usually works at reception, as the other girls were busy. When I asked her for extras she seemed genuinely shocked and asked who I had seen last time. I didn't grass the girl up though. And the third time no joy either. So I used to frequent Avera much more often, as I knew what I would get. Price at Reera similar to Avera.

Apart from the massage parlours, there aren't really any clubs in Dhaka. A couple of brothels, as have been mentioned earlier in the forum. The Spanish Embassy one is the one most rickshaw walas will take you too, as they get a cut. It's fine if you like that sort of thing, a little rough around the edges but a good selection of girls when I went. There were a couple of other places around Gulshan the rickshaw guys mentioned to me, but I didn't go. Don't worry too much about them taking you anywhere, Dhaka is pretty safe if you are a Westerner. I think I paid BDT4, 000 at the Spanish Embassy place and it's quite safe. If you are not used to the sub continent you will worry about why there are loads of guys hanging around inside, but that is how it is here, never any privacy, but they are not going to cause any trouble for you.

Anyway, I found Dhaka easier to monger in than India, none of the hassles and uptight women you get in India, although the variety is not so much. But you can definitely have a good time there. Enjoy!

I am in Dhaka from the the 4th March for five days. I have posted on the guide before and had a limited response. It would be great to do some mongering while in Dhaka, but I just don't know if there is a market for international travelers to meet-up with local girls.
