I read on another site that the world's least expensive working girls are the Petrapole (Petropole?) people, who live on the border between Bangladesh and India. Supposedly, they charge the equivalent of just 28 cents for sex. Is anyone familiar with this area and the quality (or lack thereof) there?

I went to the "Balcony" the bar on the mezanine floor of the Sonargaon hotel. There were about 10-15 girls there and all were of the available type. The place is crowded with locals. Girls will approach you by asking to sit down at your table. Quality not so good but those of you foreigners looking for exoitic Bangladeshi women may find them attractive.

Compared to other muslim countries Bangladesh is quiet liberal regarding alcohol or pros as long as you do not do it in the open. Some ladies operate in guest houses or private rented houses. But a word of caution as these are frequented by members of the underworld. They might create problems in a drunken state or jealousy. In fact one such madam was murdered just yesterday.

It seems that none of us really has solid first hand knowledge and experience. I was there in Dhaka this past January. I am American. My Bengali hosts assured me the action was available and was good. I was approached by a lovely Bengali girl at the Sheraton. I only learned later that she was available. I thought she was just being friendly. Then I learned that Bengali girls, who are not "working girls" are not friendly to strangers in public like that. It just does not happen because it is such a strict Muslim society, as has been stated.

So, I am assured that there is good action available. I have hosts there who are well connected. Absent that, looking for it on your own could be risky, I am sure.

I don�ft think Sheraton Hotel or Sonargaon Pan Pacific Hotel is good for the action. Because those hotels are far from Gulshan and Baridhara area where we can enjoy daytime and night life.
Sheraton and Pan Pacific are in the middle of Dhaka city. Gulshan and Baridhara are the northern part where many foreigners live and many shops, restaurants, hotels and guest houses are.
If you walk around there, some pimps approach you and take you to special guest houses. We can�ft distinguish normal one from special one. Girls can speak English. The rate is about 2,000 taka for 2 hours.
In the southern area like Shantinagar or Old Dhaka, the rate is much cheaper. Again, we can�ft find the business by ourselves. In many cases, they run normal hotel business on lower floors, and brothels on upper floors. Girls can�ft speak English.

As far as I know, Bangladesh is not a place for the action. Because it is a strict Muslim society. Sex industries are run by gangs in dangerous circumstance. The gangs are supported by the police and political parties, so most of the money we paid to the girls goes to police officers and politicians, which makes the rate more expensive than in other Asian countries. Once, there was a big brothel town in Narayanganj, a satellite city of Dhaka, but it was closed by political party conflicts.
Usually, no foreigner can take Bengali girls to his hotel room, and no hotel will allow Bengali girls to go to rooms occupied by foreigners. Ordinary Muslim people don�ft allow us to do so, and Islamic fundamentalists will kill us. So never search for the business actively. Just wait for pimps to approach us without much expectation.
My opinion is contradict a post by Nisha. I was interested in it and sent an email to him. But I got his reply saying �gI will never tell you anything ! because you use free email service and you already know much about the business�h. Now I doubt whether he can really provide such service as the post.

In Bangladesh, be a saint. If you want to enjoy sex, go to Bangkok.

I was in Dhaka this past January. Although I had to be on "good behavior" that trip, I have since learned that there is action if you know where to look. And I'm told it is good action. Beautiful, young Bengali girls.

If you were at the Sheraton, it was right there under your nose. I know now that I was approached by a working girl during the U.S Trade Show there, but I didn't know what to look for. A young beauty smiled at me and said, "Hi." You know that that just does not happen in Bangladesh. Women don't even shake hands with men there. This girl was available and I didn't know it at the time.

It helps if you have a Bengali friend/contact who is "cool." He can direct you. If not, find a staff member at the hotel and tell him what you want. BUT BE DISCRETE. This is an Islamic society and they feel compelled to pretend this business is not going on. They have lists of girls and you can tell them your preferences. I don't now if the lists have pictures. The girls will come to your room. I don't know about prices but I have been assured that the prices are very low for high quality beauties.

There apparently are some houses around the Sheraton and other areas where you can go and make your selection also. Again, ask someone, but be low key. Don't cause him or yourself to be embarrassed.

I am going to be in Dhaka in a few weeks, is there are action suitable for an expat? I know of many brothels for locals, but I would not touch them. The Sheraton and Song... seem dead?
