I had the same problem while I was in Snookey and also in Phillipines when I ate street food. I mentioned it to my Hotel Manager and he said that I must have been easting at the beach, which I had. He said that most places down the beach do not have freezers and refrigerators and the fish etc may be a few days old and not good to eat. I had diarrhea medication but it did not work. Only when I got back, my doctor gave me a shot of Cipro (500 mg) and that killed all the bugs and bacteria.

I learned many years ago to know how to tell if fish was fresh. Go lear. And when you select a fish go watch / track it from gutting to bbq to your plate

I've visited Cambodia (PP) once or twice a year for about 8 years now. I always get diarrhea. It's part of my morning ritual, toilet, coffee, shower, toilet, repeat. Once finished, it's over for the day. But honestly, I've been thinking half the reason is because I drink so much beer. Typically I have two-three with lunch. Then 6-12 throughout the evening.

Svay Pac in all probability. You just were not careful. Or if you were too careful you never built up an immunity. Americans, coming from a sterile society (sic) , are the most prone. Others from less clean societies have better immunities.

For what it's worth, this is what I heard from Cambodian women (totally unsolicited) while staying in Phnom Penh for work:

- They often do not believe there are black people in America who do not originate in Africa. All Cambodians are Khmer, so in their mind, all Americans are white. No matter how many times I tried to explain the situation, they were having none of it.

- Blacks are Africans. Africa is a country. Or Africa is Nigeria. Nigerians are in Cambodia because Nigeria is poor and Cambodia has more money. Nigerians sell crack in Cambodia and use fake money and fake passports. Nigerians don't have visas and the police don't like them. Some Barang have HIV. All Nigerians have it.

- Black guys have huge cocks and fuck too hard. Black guys hit women.

- Black guys are cheap. Black guys don't buy lady drinks. Black guys don't pay enough to boom boom.

- If a bar has black customers in it, white and Asian customers will not want to enter.

I heard each of things enough times for it to stay in my memory. They would actually point out the one or two ladies in a bar who would go out with black customers and make jokes about it, to which the ladies pointed out would deny or respond with anger. I'd say the dislike for black people among most working ladies in Cambodia is among the highest I've encountered, much higher than say the Philippines or Latin America (but still lower than say Korea, where people are literally deathly afraid of blacks).

Thai's think the same thing my best friend back home is black, he's Irish to me and most of the LBFMs I have are darker skinned than him, but I know Thai's won't hire black people too. They're all fucked up don't even bother trying to figure it out. They are prejudice among their own people because of skin colour. Like Khmer culture is mostly Indian culture or very similar, but they say they have their own.

It's the feelings left behind from the days many years ago. There were a slew of Africans (real africa africans) for years that had scammed girls with counterfeit money, or didn't pay, tried to 3-4 way the girls and built a bad rep.
