Most people arriving at PNH can get their visa at the airport. I'm a US citizen, flew in from BKK, presented my US passport with extra passport photos to a gaggle of officials at a counter. A minute later I was paged at the far end of the counter, upped the $20, got my passport with visa glued in. Painless, but I wasn't too thrilled about letting my passport out of my sight but that's how they do it.
Went through immigrations, claimed my bag, customs was a wave through. Trotted out and got a taxi to my hotel.
Departure - came in at the far end of the airport, just after I enter they did a suito search of my luggage and put a shipping type of heavy plastic band around each of my bags. Turned out they should have only done the bag I was going to check in, not my carry on.
Checked in at the BKKairline desk, followed the signs and walked right past the departure tax windows. "edit" I made it up a few step and was quickly turned around by a helpful government tour guide who directed me back to the departure tax window. I think it was $28, anyways, it was way too much. Up the steps, did a hook back and went through the carry on luggage check.
If you're flying BKKair, they have a great lounge for all passangers, it's at the far end, right next to the Ankor Wat Bar.
Don't worry, you will not miss any of the opportunities to help support the Khmer government, they will gladly point out each tourist pay spot in the airport. :-)
If you're not from the US, check on the web and see if your home country has any special requirements.

Hello,
Planning to travel to Pnom Penh in November but in order to enter to Camboya it is necessary to get a tourist visa.
After reading different informations I have doubts if the visa can be available upon arrival directly in the airport or is necessary to get it in Cambodia embassy.
If I'm not wrong, to get a tourist visa is necessary:
- 20/25 $
- Form
- Passport
- 1 Photo
Departure tax 28$
Any info ?
Thanks,

Brothers,
Totally off the subject, I thought this might be of interest to some of you with intentions of going to Cambodia for scuba diving.
Anyway, I had an e-mail exchange with a dive operator in Sihanoukville regarding rumors of a downed, Vietnam War-era US helicopter several hours' boat ride away. He said that there is no such helicopter, despite the persistent rumors, and that most wrecks in the area are salvaged for scrap. So, if any of you had the idea of doing this, you may wish to give it up, although I'd be interested if any of you have info to the contrary.

Posts: 1762Yikes! You had condomless vaginal sex with 20 girls in Cambodia in about a week? You're either very brave, very foolish or have a death wish.

Posts: 1762Why would you want to do that in Cambodia? Check out the lastest stats on HIV/AIDS rate in Cambodia. They have a severe HIV/AIDS epedemic in Cambodia. Have fun, but be safe

Could someone tell me where the international / Cirrus ATM machine is? It would be a blessing for Phnom Penh to have one.
I had the honor of using the first international ATM machine in Laos about 6 months ago. It gave a good exchange rate and was associated with a bank in Hanoi.

Posts: 7It is extremely hard to find any girls that will go bare back in Cambodia.
(actually that's a lie- I'd just rather you didn't spead diseases/viruses there, it's certainly the norm to rubber up, but I'm sure you'll find an eneducated innocent poor girl to prey on who'd be willing to risk her life for an extra tip)

There is not too many bank in Cambodia, there are more at Siem Riep because of more tourist. Most major hotel can also exhange money for their guest. There is no need for you to change to Riel the Cambodia currency as long you have US dollar.

Hi guys,
Been several times to Phnom Penh, but used a real ATM on my trip a few weeks ago! Wow. Cambodia was supposed to be the only country left on earth without ATM's, but it really worked and gave US Dollars.
Maybe no news for some of you, but for me it was.
Last year I saw an ATM already though, but it was only for local bank cards, but now it had the labels of "Cirrus" and "Maestro".
So no need any more to carry lots of cash with you! I used the ATM at Soraya shopping mall (the big one near Central Market), but I also saw ATM's at the Riverside.

Have a beer or softdrink & see what is available.
Rooms are clean but fan only.
Further along Omui Street is Rosies (you will need a motodope as it is a fair way to walk) been there a couple of times but girls dont seem interested, was $8 for a ST. Further along Omui St past Rosies is the Ginger Bread House. Similar to Rosies with a few cuties but price goes up ST was $8 ++ but better rooms.
Chicken farm at the port is dirty & grotty, could never see the point of saving $1 then spend $50 on penacillin.
Freelance girls get about of an evening, try Fishermans Den, Freedom Bar, G'Day Mate, $20 LT not sure about ST price
