I like to enjoy my day and afternoon and then lay down for a Quick nap and then head out for beers, flirting and fun! Any crime or sketchy situations? I'm staying on St 172 and will grab a tuk tuk in the evening to bounce around.

Be careful with your bag (loads of thieves on motorcycles cruising for victims) and phone, and don't trust the in-room safe too much. Cases of staff opening it and exchanging 100 $ note for ones with 'COPY' on it have been reported (with most victims blaming the ATM). If you use a safe, use the big hotel safe and use a sealed envelope with (at least the last) numbers of your 100 $ notes written on the envelope as proof.

About a tuk tuk, from 172 it's a short walk to 136-130-118 street. 172 has a selection of bars as well.

I think that "The Office" on street 118 is also like that. I didn't go there myself, but a girl told me it's like that.

The office at 118 has a neat set up. There is a dance area on the first floor with a few poles. It a small area and customers can watch the girls dance seated in the ground floor. I visited the bar at around 11 pm and saw set of three girls with skimpy clothes, almost bikini, dancing. All of them had nice racks but no nudity or exposure.

Only one bar (Corner bar 136?) had dancing girls on stage, so it is not a go-go style set-up like in Thailand.

I will take my virgin trip to PP in July and have been reading up and watching the YouTube videos. I have a pretty good feel and plan on enjoying those streets, hanging out with hostess girls and pulling a few! Cheap drinks, laughs, and Asian poon will fit me just right!

I obviously did not ask all the girls in every bar about barfine, but I would guess maybe 60% of them will go? Bargirls have many reasons for NOT going and they can change their opinion from day to day. And also the attitude and appearance of the man influence her reply. I only met one girl that actually told me from the start that she only drink with men in the bar. The other girls clearly signalled they wanted a barfine. So I guess it is my luck, or whatever. I started my night normally around 9 PM and the bars would fill up by then (the busy bars). If you go at 6 or 7 PM the girls will be there but most bars are quite empty. Be prepared to be surrounded by many ladies asking for LD, providing massage etc. The girls are great fun and you can enjoy a game of pool in most bars. Only one bar (Corner bar 136?) had dancing girls on stage, so it is not a go-go style set-up like in Thailand.

Spent 5 days in Phnom Penh, for mongering only. Tried bars in street 130,136 and 104. Did not try the nightclubs like Pontoon or Darlin Darlin. I would describe Phnom Penh like a mix of a Thailand and Philippines. I was surprised that bargirls speak English better than expected. It is a poor country and some of the life and family stories these girls tell you is really sad. Some of them have no money at all. In that way it is similar to the Philippines. A Thai bar girl will normally be better off and I guess the average income for people in Thailand is quite better than in Cambodia. But the girls are lovely and the price level is still acceptable. 1 USD for a beer, 3-4 USD for a drink and almost the same for LD. Barfines 10 USD and LT can be had at 40-50 USD, depending on how desperate the girl is. The most sexy girls will ask for more. The vibe especially in street 130 and 136 is a barfly's heaven. Some bars are open 24 hours. But the scene is small. Riverfront area have cosy cafes and hotels in French colonial style. Quite nice to sit there and relax with a cold beer or a good wine. Stayed at LE Vincent hotel. Basic and fast internet, but not much else. Will stay another place the next time. Streets full of garbage and some rats, so if that put you off you should go elsewhere. I am sure I will return, but maybe only for 3-4 nights over a weekend. The nightlife options in Bangkok and Pattaya is so much bigger, so staying longer in PP means you will need to visit the same bars again and again. I did not visit tourist places. And there are not many..

Your observations and experiences are almost exactly the same as mine. Not that much to do in PP in terms of tourist stuff, though I did enjoy going out to "Silk Island". After visiting the former Khmer Rouge prison I was depressed enough that the Killing Fields wasn't going to have me as a visitor. After mongering in Thailand since the 70's I've now decided to spend most of my trips in Cambo. I used to love the BKK go-go's, but now favor the less expensive and less blood-thirsty damsels of PP. In fact, my next trip will be 7 nights in Siem Reap (have an old "friend" there), 3 or 4 nights in BKK, and 6 nights in PP.

Arrived yesterday and by late afternoon hit 136 street. Only a few bars open mid afternoon and there was not much worth barfining so decided to leave and rest up. Decided to hit Darlin Darlin and take a dressed up doll for a short time. Arrived about 10 pm and the pickings were not bad. Usual small chat with a few girls and then met one that was eager and pretty. Not really my type but as it was only a short time decided to give her a fly.

In the room she was fun and good to performer but not a GFE. Sent her on her way after an hour and decided to hit Pontoon. Arrived there about 1 am but it was a little quiet. Had a few drinks watching out for any decent talent but after one hour decided nothing was worth the punt. Headed back to 136 to see if anything was left there to grab. Stopped by a bar in the middle of three that I think was Tiger Bar. It had a lot of girls and some were cute. One in particular grabbed my attention. Had that look and manner of a girl who was a little naughty and fun. Nice face and body. Decided to buy her a few drinks and play some pool. After about an hour I bar fined her and we went back to the hotel. She was a great performer. Total GFE and did not hesitate to please. Would definitely see her again. What I found surprising is that the two girls both gave BBBJ without me asking, and that is not common in Cambodia. The Darlin Darlin girl did it well whereas the bar girl was a little less experienced with it. However who can complain about a sweet young giving you a BBBJ even if they are not that good at it. Certainly not me!

So day 1 was off to a good start. Will file more reports as I go.

I just use the grab for one of the 3 wheelers. They sometimes call them tuktuks still. They are motorbikes with a covered seat for 2 or 3 people in the back. They don't have aircon but they definitely pick you up inside the gate. Last time it was $7 and we went 16 km according to google maps. I don't really find the heat to be an issue. But I'm used to southeast asia.

I was there a month ago and it was $15. The drivers all had this card they were handing out showing the price so as to try to stop negotiating. Like it was an official airport rule. Anyway I didn't care because there were two of us and we split the fare.

The problem with Grab is I don't think they will let the Grab drivers come inside the airport to pick you up, so you have to lug you luggage outside the airport to find your ride. Also it's usually hot as hell, LOL. There may be a way around this but it's just not worth the hassle for $15. I guess I should clarify it's not worth it to me.

I was there in August and also just a month ago. Grab and Passapp work just fine. Both are permitted to drive right inside and pick you up right outside the terminal where you buy local SIM cards from. And they both charge roughly around $7. The cars I got on both visits were a Toyota Landcruiser. So comfortable ride to the Riverside in sweltering heat.

Thanks for jumping in. The hotel is http://phnompenhhotel.com/# and the banner says Phnom Penh Hotel. Maybe you know it under one of the other names. I will let you all know the neighborhood after my visit.

I don't know of any place called Phnom Penh Hotel. There is Ohana Phnom Penh Hotel and Harmony Phnom Penh Hotel that come closest in name. Are you sure this is the right place?

Most hotels will have an in-house spa but they are more likely to be clean massages. No extras. PP is not a very developed market for organised P4P except for the bar scene and a couple of night clubs / discos. So there is almost nothing online.

You might have to do some legwork if you want some results. No pain, no gain. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Its only 18 if you don't know how to bargain. My advice is to just use grab for all transportation. Their pricing is quite competitive.
