Will be traveling to PP soon. Was wondering if any of you have been to any of the new hostess bars in the city? I am wondering if the talent is being spread thin?

Which new hostess bars are you referring to specifically? Can you name the bars and their location? I was there just at the end of April and all the bargirl talent was concentrated around 136,130 and 104. Maybe 110 and 51 if you want some more variety.

I will be visiting Phnom Penh next week and staying at the Garden City Hotel. I believe that is far from the bar street riverside. Are there any pick up bars or nightclubs or massages with extras near the hotel. If going to Riverside for action is the only option then how much will a tuk tuk cost me. Is also the hotel girl friendly.

I will also be staying for a couple of days at the white mansion, I would appreciate similar info for that too.

Lots of hotels and guest houses in PP. I suggest that you email each to see what their policy is regarding bringing guests to your room. That is my M. O. And it works. Garden City is quite far from the bars, clubs, discos. Probably 12-15 km from the riverside bars. I'm just guessing a $7-$10 tuk tuk fare. White Mansion is on the edge of what I think most would consider ground zero for my idea of Sanuk. For $1 tuk tuk. A quick ride up Street 51 to Pontoon and Heart of Darkness and a few hostess bars. From there, maybe another $1 ride to the streets that have the most hostess bars.

BTW the chicks now no longer use the upstairs rooms, but will take you downstairs and out the door to the adjoining guesthouse. The rooms there are normal guesthouse rooms. But there is no extra charge for these rooms.

Franga's information is good but to update it, they are back to working as before, so use massage rooms upstairs for FS with no need to go outside. Prices still $7 + $25 (or what you negotiate).

But as to Viets, I haven't seen any on recent visits. One or two may claim 'mixed race' or may be ethnic Khmers from Vietnam. They don't look like Vietnamese.

This can of course change from day to day. Quality has been poor this year. I have a hunch that you might have more luck after 6 pm. I often visit Sonoma Oyster Bar near Bassac Lane for their $1 Vietnamese oysters (20% discount between 4 pm and 6 pm) before heading over.

I would say they are "moderate" in looks. One small chick I took told me that she was 22 yrs old, but then another member with good intell told me she was actually over 30. There are usually better looking Khmers so I generally take one of them instead.

There are always two or three viets mixed in with the Khmers at Massa on Street 252. They even give them a red number badge whereas the Khmers get a blue one. Remember it's $7 for the house and offer $25 to the chick. If you don't bargain then the house will want $15 and the chick from $40 to $80, which is a complete ripoff but naive punters have paid this, so beware.

Not very many Viet establishments any more and the ones that exist are not that interested in foreigners showing up because they prefer to remain under the radar. As you mention they are subject to discrimination by the government and many have been booted or left of their own volition. The only joint I know of (vaguely) is called Golden Vine I think on 110 or thereabouts. It used to be stocked with Vietnamese but I haven't bee there in a few years. BTW, if you live there shouldn't you be telling US where they are?

In one of my previous reports I mentioned that I followed some lead and headed to Golden Vine. That place is a dump. Don't bother. There are a couple of bars next door, I peeked into those as well. Nothing to see.

I'm not super picky. I LIKE 1500 Baht ($46 US) BKK SW's sometimes.

46 USD will more or less get you any girl in PP other than one who works at Darling Darling.

The bars can be fun. There are lots of them in a small concentrated area. You can't compare PP to Thailand. It's a fraction of the size and number of girls.

Imo a top Thai girl is far superior to a top khmer girl lookswise. This is where your being not picky will be a great advantage. Pp is worth a visit at least once if you need to make a visa run.
