Who have overpaid for the last few years are now staying that its standard, I was in pp 6 months ago and tried a girls there for 30 dollar with little bargaining and she new I wasn't a regular I'm sure if I was a reg and I bargained 25 dollars is standard not the 40 dollars you guys are paying, just to remind you that the standard local places are 10-15 dollars ST and the girls are better looking, tho admittedly the service is pretty basic.

Firstly, apologies for asking for information but I have just had an opportunity to visit PP next week & I don't have long to make the bookings. I have read back over several pages to find hotels recommendations but I'm having a bit of trouble finding many. I've seen the Lux Riverside on ST 136 mentioned & being completely new to PP it seems that would be a good start.

Is this correct & are there any others that might be better that I should consider?

Most of nicer hotel is near Riverside area and the budget hotel is near the central market, It all depend on your budget cost of hotel is much cheaper than other city like Bangkok, if you want a nice hotel the Naga World casino hotel is about 100 USD a night with a night club where you can pick up girl.

Where are these places and what are the best hours to visit them? Are the girls as hot as the top Street 104 girls?

Walkabout: closed for now, but being renovated at this time. (street 174/51).

Martini: closed, reopened as New Martini on street 174 (near Walkabout) Best time starting from 8 pm.

They will ask for $40, but they should all still accept $30 (for 1 hour; actually some will say it's for a 50 minute "professional" hour).

When entering the bar, you get surrounded by 7 or 9 beauties, a warm welcome.

However I prefer a slim beauty, but like this, you can not mark the slim from the chubby ones.

So I ordered a beer, thought give it some time so I can choose better.

No way, all the ladies stayed wrapped around me, all trying to get my attention.

Finally, picked a pretty face, gave her a drink.

I know I don't have to give her I drink, but it offers some get-to-know time, some decency.

1st surprise:

I never ask the lady how much she wants; I offer myself. Asked if she agreed on 20 usd ST. She could not, 40 dollars would do. Gave her a surprised look, but she held on her 40 dollar.

Never saw this in Cambodia, never payed any 'tip' as expected in Thailand. I gave 1 dollar tip.

Think I better stick to the freelancers as in Martinis, Walkabout or Sharky. Many available for 15 usd, I always give 20. Sometimes they stay till morning, despite the agreement on ST.

The girl was good, but not worth the triple price. For me, LE Cyrcee is a place to miss. I don't care I payed to much, they can do that once: I won't go back, they will not see me anymore.

Have to remember a rule: never enter an empty restaurant. If no one inside, get out.

If you read the forum, even going back a few posts, you would see precisely how the pricing and the system works at this old establishment. If you put LE Cyrcee into the search engine on this site, you would see that they used to have an onsite room but have not had onsite room for years. I heard that this has as much to do with the local authorities as anything else.

Yes, of course you can find freelancers who might go with you for less although I think you will find that not only is the $20 fee for the girl a thing of the past, so is Martinis and I think Walkabout. The latter was known to have the highest incidence of HIV and other STD nasties around.

While freelancers in the old days were sometimes shy but always willing to spend long time with barang who had enough money for beer, food and something for the lady, nowadays you may find that your phone or money may also have gone walk about along with your freelancer. Which is why so many of us like to stick to bars where at least in theory there is comeback, even if only through reputation of the bar.

The great thing about LE Cyrcee is that it is open in the afternoon (when most freelancers are still in bed) and unlike various massage places is not hit or miss and you can make your choice. The costs are well-known too and you don't have to bring the lady back to your room. The girls are vetted and clean and know their work well. And long may it stay that way.

I think you will find that your freelancer is going to cost you something like the same, maybe $30-40 (she may say LT but mean ST) plus drink / food plus taxi plus whatever she can steal back at your place while you are in the shower. It could cost you a lot more and the experience be a lot worse.

You can of course go to the local brothels and find much cheaper especially if you can speak Khmei and have some front but IMHO that is not the experience that most Western men are going to relish where the girls are going to be rough, the decor nasty, a higher chance of being robbed and rushed action.
