Hey guys,

As the title state I have a severe allergy to peanuts but decided to book my trip to Phnom Penh later next month. I do not speak any Khmer unfortunately.

After doing some searches on google I found that there were no specific recommendations as to where I could find a peanut free restaurant.

They did mention that I should only eat at restaurants that are owned by westerners so I would be able to communicate my allergy better. So I was wondering if there were any that you guys knew about?

I will be staying at Point Boutique hotel but am willing to travel to the end of the world (or at least Phnom Penh) for safe options! I am more than happy to eat strict western diet.

I've found that they have Burger King and I was wondering if anyone happened to come across items on their menu that would cause me some concern? Or if there are any other fast food chains that would be a good option?

I've learned so much on this thread about my main interests while in Phnom Penh and although this is a bit off topic and a shot in the dark I hope that I can get some information from people that have been on the ground.

Peanut is a staple food in Asia. They make sauces, use in curries, roasted and mixed in fried foods. You should stick to salads without dressing. Fruits as is. Fast food joints may mix peanuts in their fare. Just because it said McDonald's or Burger King does not mean it is the same as USA. All brands vary their food according to local taste.

I suggest you carry epipen.

You should be good sticking to strictly Western fare. Take different photos of peanuts in various forms and show them to the waiter / waitress and then cross your arms and vigorously shake your head to indicate "NO PEANUTS".

Stay safe and report back on your trip.

Another word of advice. The girls. Now they will eat peanuts. Local Khmer food uses peanuts in plenty of ways. If you are going to visit bars and expect to DFK girls, that could become a problem. Think about a strategy to overcome that.

This is my fifth trip to PP in the last 3 years and this time I stayed at yet another new hotel, Tao Riverside Residence. A separate report on the hotel will follow.

I went to PP a couple of weeks ago (first time) and here's a few things from the trip:

Tuesday night:

First went to Street 136 around 9 pm I think.

Checked Secrets: nice and classy as described (for PP standards), live music going on, hardly any customers. Waitress jumped on me and wanted me to sit, I don't like being pushed so I stood for a couple of minutes just to feel the ambiance. Half a dozen girls in red top (aka barfinable) sitting nearby, nothing overly attractive, few couples or small groups in couches. I left and returned to street 136.

Streets were empty, bars too. Went to 136 bar (corner street 130 I think), live music - 1 girl singing and 1 guy playing, half the girls busy with a group of Chinese men in the back room. Left after a short while, returned later. Chatted with a nice-looking girl (7/10), good English, unfortunately had her periods. Not pushy at all for drinks, so just nice chat. A couple of other girls joined, eventually not possible to take them out. A really pretty one declined to make herself available. Lady Drinks were 3.75 $.

In between I went to Tokyo Bar, seeking shelter from the rain. Some girls outside were having dinner or not doing much, none approached me. Inside were a small group of young Asian men, who left apparently without any girl.

Tried next door Alaska bar, had a peak inside: completely empty, looked depressing as hell, so I stayed outside. Offered a LD to a very cute and very young girl (said she was 19, looked even less) who could not speak English, after 10 minutes of difficult exchange I asked her several times if she wanted to go with me or could barfine, but "no". Apparently the daughter of someone working at the bar (according to another girl). Other girls hanging around were not really attractive (for me a least) and they did not try to approach me.

Lady Drinks were 4 $.

General ambiance in both Tokyo and Alaska bars seemed to be of a rest day for the girls, clearly not looking too hard to get laid.

At the end (after leaving 136 bar for the second time), I went back to Secrets. This time at the entrance were about 5-6 girls in red tops clearly looking to attract the few potential clients. Two immediately grabbed my arms. They were pretty good looking (and young) so we went inside. Bought them LD, chatted like 15 min while live band playing well enough to be pleasant.

One of the girls was 21, name "Nin", pretty face and of course hot body at this age. Spoke average English. The other one I can't remember her name, a bit complicated. A tad below her friend face-wise, but 19 or 20 yo and eager to please. Could hardly speak English. Both were the "petite" type.

Around they were not many other red top girls and none as attractive as mine. It was around 23 or 23:30 so maybe the best-looking ones had gone with clients already?

Decided to take the two. They were surprised. Asked if I wanted ST or LT. 50 $ for ST, 100 $ for LT. Took LT for both. Barfine was indeed 20 $ each.

Decent experience in bed. "Nin" was not much into it but no problem to hug her naked in bed and to fuck, although quite passive (but what a hot body! The other was much more active, kissing, moving etc. Hardly any interactions between them, but I didn't care for that. Overall good fun, we fell asleep around 4 am. They were young and not much experienced, which was fine with me but if you're into PSE you would have been disappointed.

Next evening (Wednesday) I went out late (around 22:30) and went straight to Circee as I wanted to repeat the threesome experience but less costly and short time only. Was assaulted by 8-9 girls immediately (some others were upstairs with a group of Japanese men, as per the owner). If you're on the shy side, it can be a bit bothersome to be surrounded by girls begging to be picked (rubbing cock etc.). Chose two, paid 40 $ each for ST.

Next two days I spent with a girl I met on a dating site. But that's a different story and not needed here.

My experience is dated to October and I have added my experience in the Vietnam threads. I am a tourist type who enjoys seeing the sites. We made a quick stop to my room to change clothes at which point she sat me on the bed and demurely let me know that this would not be a free encounter. I believe the way she laid it out was that if I was looking for a relationship she was interested but needed to be looked after, and if I was not looking for a relationship she was interested but needed to be looked after. lol No terms were discussed, but from that point on it was clothes off reveling a very good body, fully and smoothly shaved covered only with a red g string. She seemed wide open to anything I was interested in trying. What followed was a passionate full GF BB session complete with BBBJ and CIP. We stayed together the next two nights and days, toured the sites outside the room, and slept naked together at all times allowing and encouraging me to nudge her wake at any time I had an inkling. The only times she wasn't naked were when we left the room. For this I paid the princely sum of $50 US when we parted ways. As I said money was never discussed and she seemed satisfied with my parting gift. She said she had only done this three times previously. I am relatively an infant to the PP scene, so my experiences are not clouded by history. For me, PP is currently the cheapest place to monger conventionally in SEA.

I'm older, but not yet senile. I can still recall my "infant years" of mongering and cherish them. And you and others here will also. Rarely, does anything stay the same. When I compare the current P4P scene with that of yesteryear, I don't complain. I accept it for what it is. In many ways the scene is much better: nicer venues, more options, the convenience of electronic communication, and the ease of getting a blow job. LOL.

In the 70's, getting a go go dancer in BKK who would give head could be a very real challenge. (True). Even in PP a decade or so ago, mongers used to complain about the Khmer girls not giving head—thus one of the reasons the Viet freelancers at Martini were often favored. The Viet girls knew how to perform and did without hesitation. Now, it seems the gals in both BKK and PP would rather suck than fuck, and that suits me fine. LOL.

So guys in PP in their 30's, 40's, and 50's should appreciate what they are experiencing at the moment: the lowest cost for mongering in SEA. For, in another 20 or 30 years, the bars will probably be outfitted with "virtual" bargirls and cost $300 per hour. (I'm sure the Japanese are onto this already. LOL).

I'll be 78 in a couple of weeks, so I have about 50 years of fucking my way around SEA. Old school. With indelible memories of when "sanuk" was really "sanuk" and not like buying / renting a used car. I don't need a Ferrari to get me from Point A to Point be. LOL.

Hey Sam. I am really keen to know which bars you visited. I was on ground probably 4 weeks ago, and not one girl asked me anything more than $70 for LT. As for ST, I believe $50 is a fair rate so I did not bother to bargain. And in most places local draft beer is still $0. 75. If that is considered expensive, I am wondering what should be called economical. And if I remember right, 20 months ago was not that different. Hell, even the girls were the same in many bars. I have written reports in Sep 2017, Oct 2017, Apr 2018. They were not so different in pricing. I am wondering is I am missing anything.

The only place I got quoted $100 for LT is Secrets. But I thought the girls there looked better than the ones in the surrounding bars. With a bit of haggle they might have accepted $70-$80. I did not pick from there though.

Unfortunately, I only visited about a half dozen bars and only on Street 136. Advanced arthritis severely limited my travels on foot. If anybody saw an old fart hobbling around with a cane, it was probably me. LOL Should've had a cortisone injection before my trip. Also, a case of the shits kept me sidelined for a few days. The bars I patronized were the Pussy Cat, 69 Bar, Candy Bar, Moonrise, Sweetie and one or two others. Didn't try Secrets. I was aware of the pricing there. NOTHING BUT GREAT INFO

1. The market is distinctly dominated by groups of young to middle-aged Chinese men, flush with money to blow. And the market is responding.

2. This dominance is slowly but surely spreading into the mongering world too. In my last visit here in Aug 2018, this was not so prominent (except in Nagaworld), but this time almost every single bar, disco, club, or lounge had a significant Chinese population who were indulging the top girls and having a ball, throwing around money like it were going out of style.

Even average drink sluts in the hostess bars are quoting $100 (USD) for long time and many $50 for short time. Stupid money. Of course you can negotiate, but in over 40 years engaged in this hobby, that isn't my style. This is not just my experience, but that of many other trusted sources and reports. Even beer prices are way over-priced. Prices have increased at least 50% since I last visited PP 20 months ago! I just don't get it.
