By tuk tuk or motorbike it is less than 5 minutes. I walked there around midday and between 5-7 pm. It depends on where you are looking for but just catch a younger motorbike who might speak a few words of English. That will help. Do not let you drive anywhere else as you might end up in a local bordello where you don't want to be for obvious reasons. And that is the same reason I avoid what Phnom at night. Too risky for a setup so simply avoid the place. A walk around at 5 pm was OK until 2 years ago when you could easy catch 10-20 FL's around there. Nowadays you will hardly find one.

For a safe but more or less seedy bar, Street 102, the former Nay Nay Star, dunno the current name, with St rooms (not official) on premis. Bunny Bar in St 104 all kind of action possible on the couches in the dark backside of the bar. Or tell a girl you like to play private pool upstairs, and they will take care no one will disturb you. Same possible, sometimes, in Bar 104 same street.

What do yo mean by to risking for a setup. They'll steal from you or schemes involving LEAS. What I want do is bring them back to my room. I really don't want to do anything there in that shanty dirty room; no offense.

It is roughly a 20 minutes walk, if you mean by that. But don't walk to JP bridge at night as from passing street to what Phnom the side walk might be very bad and I do not consider it as really a safe area. Never seen anything happen, but just feel uncomfortable in that dark area. During the daytime you might see a few girls, but shabby. Same as the shabby massage places you will pass. Was 5000 Riel in the old days, but I only looked inside once and took a runner.

Did you take those girls LT or ST and if so how much did their services cost?

Just had another lovely weekend in Phnom Penh. Because I booked late I ended up at Zing hotel next to the central market. I can confirm that this is a girl friendly hotel. They just take the ID of the girl and you will get a call from reception when the girl leaves to check if everything is ok. (which I always think is a nice touch).

I just ended up doing the bars between 104 and 136 and must have been to about 15 of them. Most of them are quite nice. I like the scene in PP. So much more relaxed than Saigon.

One particularly crappy bar was Bar 136 on St 136. I was literally hounded for drinks. They must have asked 7 or 8 times within the first 5 minutes. The girls just stare at you and the only English they speak is "Buy me drink". Needless to say I was gone within half a beer.

On the other end of the spectrum is Honey Pot Bar on St 130. This place has the most comfortable bar stools, the girls are overall good looking with a few gems. They do not hassle you for drinks which is great, so it actually feels like the drinks that you offer are appreciated, not expected. And it seems that at least several of the girls do go out with customers. I managed to take out on two different nights which was great. Bar fine is a bit higher than other bars with $15 on Fri Sat, and $10 the rest of the week. I recommend this place, and will certainly be back soon.
