Smart is the best. It's cheap, they have 3G all over the country, they are always giving you bonuses, and you can find their cards everywhere. I spend about $5 a month and I call, text and surf the web daily.

You can actually get your sim card for free if you top it up at the time. Usually secondary sellers try to get whatever they can out of unwitting tourists, which is why their sim prices are negotiable. If you don't want to show a passport you may have no option but to pay.

i think i had previously endorsed beeline. i no longer do so. while they have a 1 gb. 30-day package for $ 3 usd, it's 2. 5g or edge network. quite slow. further, i'm not getting a reasonable connection when around phnom penh itself. especially downtown.

i now recall, that last year i was using cellcard and even in kep it worked okay. i don't recall if it was 3g or not. also, it was $ 2 usd a week with not so many annoying sms.

i've heard some others mentioned mobifone and smart as viable options.

looked for beeline in pp but couldn't find near 51 st so bought a sim at smart store. it has worked fine for me in pp and siam reap. don't use data very much so can't compare for speed, but web pages with photos refresh reasonably, (supposedly 3g service.) paid $6 for sim plus $5 credit (good for 30 days) , used $1 for data. they gave $5 bonus credits for within network use plus bonus 100min+100sms+100mb in network for 30 days, too.

While food and drink prices seem about the same as the year's past at Martini Pub. Girls are asking for a bit more. Some of the newer spinners are asking initially $ 40 for short time though $ 25 is acceptable. I've gone back to just taking the gal and then giving $ 20 plus maybe $ 5 for moto when done.

I made the mistake of leaving jewelry in a 'hidden' pocket of a Masterlock padlocked suitcase, and it was opened and relocked after jewelry was removed.

Video showed only hotel cleaners entered the room (or the locked window was entered outside the video view.)

Police could not accuse anyone because there were 2 cleaners together.

Don't give them opportunity to steal from you.

I speak Khmer and this is after all Cambodia. I'm sure you could find out more about the Viet places though. It's all perspective as you say.

The hostess bars aren't the same as they were 5 or even 2 years ago in my opinion. There are still lots of good finds to be had but you have to float through numerous bars to get to them. I usually do a few rounds every 3 months or so just to see what's new. I also have some old friends who work the bars and update me on new girls that would be to my liking.

Don't put all your trust in tuk tuk drivers. For years they took guys to the St 63 massage shops were getting your pants cleaned out was almost certain...

Thanks for the pm, however as I explained I got bored and have left pp however I would like to address some of the comments made and the sights I have seen.

I'm not sure if you guys remember a poster named Thatasshole. He was a true explorer and to this day I haven't seen another poster quite like him. He would simply go into a new town, chat up with a motodop / tuk tuk driver and get local intel, he would pay him for the fare, get the "going rate"then later go there alone and bargain below "the going rate". This is what I have done where I cannot find things out myself driving around using my "sex-sense".

The reason I use motodopes tuk tuks or I befriend young guys then use them as my guide is that these guys are poor and if they know then they will know cheap local places. It would be pointless to ask business men with their VIP service because they don't frequent these places as they will be directing me to diamond or xo or x2 or the multitude of high or mid end KTV where the price of a girl is between 50-100usd. That in my mind is way to easy. Conversely no offense to bronzeman or the others who have posted about beer gardens, but in my view fishing from these places is much too like dating.

The guys reading this forum in my mind would be newbies who have very little experiece with pp, and so want to know where they can get a definate bonk and at what price. Or they will be sexpats who want to know new fishing spots as the old places have been ruined by the newbies.

My experience reading about beer gardens was that you can go there eat food then tip the girls 2-3usd and ask the girl for sex costing 30usd, this is so far from the truth unless you are especially handsome or more importantly found a girl that has urgent bills. After experiencing them and asking locals, it has been clarified that these girls need to be wooed, ie go a few times build rapport and tip then about 10usd each time to show face etc.

The poster posting about how he went to the beergarden / barbarshop and after going a few times then dating her and then having to pay nothing, has about as much relevance to this forum, as me posting about the times I have picked up women in banks, doctor surgery or shopping malls taking them on dates then finally getting it for "free"". That in my mind is called dating and has no value on a mongering site as it really would not be that much useful to the majority of readers.

I think both I and Bronzeman have differeing ideas of what is hot, I have driven past the barbarshop on Kampchea crom probably at least 14-15 times during my time here, and admittedly I didn't go in all 6-7 shops, but looking at the girls sitting outside on the breaks, or looking at the girl observable through the clear glass. Often with these women they are good from afar but far from good. And if I didn't see any that was good from afar, then I can presume they wouldn't be many attractive girl. To my defence I can say I went in two shops around that area, one on 118 street the other on kampochea crom, and these didn't have any hot women. I also when to the viet karaoke on Preah anh eng or chan reacheah. They have the words hat voi nhau. In Vietnamese it means sing togther, and it has a different meaning to kareoke in vietname, I wnet in and I saw the standard communal room, where you sit and possible "hug" the hostess, but I asked if there was a private room in vietnamese, I was asked how many in my gp, when I said I was alone they said no no no private room. Now in my mind if there was definate services available hen regardless if I was with a gp or was alone they would have offered a private room. In vn the clean kareokes don't offer private rooms to couples and they are afraid the privacy would open up avenues of intimacy. Thats not saying its not possible to get extras using the pathway of dating, but definately its not standard offering. I have been in vn too long to believe there was anything dodgy offered as standard practice at this viet kareoke.

Back to the issue of the hostess bars not being the point and click meat markets, in my experience I asked 5 girls from 5 different bars and all was available for ST a few was only avail for Lt. Admittedly all these girls were attractive girl who approached me, I'm sure if I asked girls who didn't approach me and thus wasnt physically attracted to me then that would be a different scenario. But I agree there are definately more girls working just for LD and the 10usd a day salary I was told she gets. If this is true I can see why there isn't much a incentive to barfine.

Finally I was taken around by a local and I found 3 distinct areas that can be called "chicken farms" around pp, the first closer to the river side had two kymer girls both 7's was offered them 30usd each in my mind its negotiable as these are for local consumption. The second area had older of plumper kymer girls might be able to find a diamond in the rough cost 10usd. The final area would be classified as a gem, it was filled with girls that I would call 7's, it is quite far from the central I was quoted 20usd but I think its possible to negotiate down. I won't be revealing these locations as I feel this would only result in the ruination of these locations, but suffice to say that if you are a sexplorer then you can I find the hidden gems in pp.

Not buffet but go to st. 104 to the Cavern for breakfast. Totally worth it.

My info comes from my own experiences here mainly, some of that came from following the advice of Khmer friends who work regular professional jobs. A lot of it came from exploring on my own as much of this is not spoken of in polite company.

There are nearly a dozen barber shops on Kampuchea Krom. Did you go into every one of them at prime hour and check out the 6-12 girl line ups in each? I assure you there are a few stars in the mix, at least one would easily be a 9 by Vietnamese standards. A Lexus-driving Khmer "VIP" assured me that he got extras in one of these shops but it was a few years ago. Things may have changed. I get my hair cut on this street and haven't been offered anything extra, though I have dated one of the shampoo girls and that led to more at no cost to me.

I'll PM you the location of the shop where they dress skimpy, though those are Khmer girls not Viet. I've been before but nothing offered, though I did get phone numbers to call after. As I've found here it's not always enough to just show up (unlike most other countries). Sometimes you have to know what to say or do. Many places offer both mainstream and extra services (some KTVs being a good example).

Same goes with the Karaokes on 118. There are about 6 of them there. Sometimes you will find girls waiting outside some of them. The Vietnamese ones on 13 between 130 and 136 and 136 almost always have girls outside.

I agree that fishbowls are the best bet as long as you can find a good one. The hundreds of KTVs and restaurants are also good bets.

Check your PM for info on the barber shop and other places.

The hostess bars aren't really "point and click" meat markets. Customers have to try to build some kind of rapport with the girls before they will go out. There are some exceptions, but it's usually the least attractive ones. Cyrcee is the exception and it's pretty easy to get staff out of Island too. Many of the girls in the hostess bars go out once a month or never. I knew one who worked the bar circuit for two years and is still a virgin waiting for a prince charming with 5000 bucks to give her family for marriage.

Candy and Walkabout are terrible even at night in my opinion. During the day, forget about it. The best options during the day are the fishbowls around town or maybe Nay Nay for the less adventurous (though you shouldn't expect much at the latter). If you know a good 10, 000 Riel massage shop those are open early too. Plenty on the riverside around W at Phnom...

I just wanted to preface this by saying that this is my own experiences, I speak vietnamese and I have lived in Vietnam for 6 yrs, I have only been here 3 times 1 month each time I was here in 2009, 2011, and now.

Back in 2009 and 2011, I had no problems barfining attractive girls. And the guys I went with also had no problems. It was just a question of agreeing on price. I've been at that time Shanghai was known as a no barfine bar.

Who is more than willing to spend 50usd in LD to build rapport, then yes why would she want to go boom boom. I reported the kampochea crom / 118st barbar shops and the 118 KTV because that was asked of me, the kampochea crom / 118st barbar shops I can definately assure you because I asked in vietnamese if there was anything else available. Not that even if there was I would partake as the girls very plain.

The 118 KTV, one is called happy family KTV, the other is more dodgy, I actually went through the whole place and I asked the guys if there was any girls to accompany me whilst I sing. These guys weren't Vietnamese tho so I asked in English. I am pretty sure there are no activities in the 118st KTV because on street 49 down from lecycee tere are KTV where there are girls sitting outside, as are most other ktvs around the city, that is a clear indication that girls are availbale for your company. This week I had a opportunity to try out these three places.

HOD I was there at 10pm when it was dead and then revisited it at 12 when it was picking up, not sure when it will be filled with freelancers but when is was there I only saw prob 5-6, and they where slim possibly decent body, but too old for me being closer to 30 than 20, plus not sure if it was gay night but it was filled with gay kymer men and plump ngo type girls.

I then went to Casa, this place is more like viet style disco, with girls avail for hostessing and from my observations and enquires, available for takeout, cost is 60usd St and 100usd LT. Its filled with malaysian Chinese. Admittedly the quality of the girls here much higher than the expat bars. But also the pricing is double or triple. Considering I took a cute viet ST for 15 dollars who told me she used to work at Casa charging 60st, I think its not advisable to pay 4times the price. The girls here are all under 30. More 18-24yr range.

Darling darling. This place full of better looking girls than the bar. Generally the quality of the better looking bar girls on average, ages early 20's to late 20's. My unbargained price enquirey was 100usd st 150lt, I had heard that some have got girls for 50usd LT, but I think that would only apply to the plain girls / hungrier girls or you would have to wait to the early morning where a 3-4am pick up isn't really long time anymore.

I also went to Shanghai bar, the quality of girls isn't great if only that they hire slim girls. I was sitting and joking with them I didn't buy any lady drinks as I didn't fancy any. And then a barang came in and he was swamped by 5-6 girls, I asked the other girls left there who he is, she said she doesn't know just that he buys lots of drinks, I'm not so sure I'd be happy known as the guy who has to buy drinks to get attention.

I also found some local cheap fuckshops. Paid 15 dolars for boom boom. The original pricing was 3usd for fan room massage and 5 dollar for aircom. Looks comparable to baby fat cambo girls (a 6) in the bars but not exactly my type once the clothes came off. Bad skin, I was there to mainly explore. Name was massage 53 BTW start price was 35usd for boom boom.

In another area found massage 99, 5 dollar massage, boom boom with cute viet girl (7) was 20+5, I bargain down to 10+5. This girl much more attractive and better skin. More value in my mind. She also told me she used to work at casa where she charged 60usd for ST.

I also drove around the freelancer street girls. Most undesirable but I say a few hotties like 7-8 cost 10-20usd didn't bargain too hard so maybe lower.
