Had a bad experience with a bar girl from MrButterfly (see the photo below). Agreed LT for USD 100 at around 12 am. Back to room, had one shot and sleep. The next day morning 7 am tried to touch her for second round but she said she want to sleep so I was thinking OK, let's sleep for while. At 11 am, touch her again and request for another round but this time was told that she is 'don't have the feeling' to do it. Wake up and dressed up said want to leave. I was a bit pissed-off and told her I will only give her ST price. She refused and said that her LT definition is one shot and accompany me sleep till the next day! $% After much argument for almost one hour I finally give in for not wanted to created any unwanted trouble. Hope those who went to MrButterfly bar and bump into this girl to be more cautious with her.

First time step foot into Phnom Penh. Stayed in Secrets Hotel at St. 136 two block away from Route 136 bar. It is the old Lance Court Hotel after some renovation. I got offer from their website with USD52.5 Deluxe Room for 3 nights which is a bargain. Nice room with in-room safe which is my primary requirement for selecting hotel room.

You can get a SIM card at the airport when you come out from the arrival hall. All telcos have their counter in front of the arrival hall exit. I got one SIM from Smart for USD 6 for 20 GB (7 days) (claim by the counter staff there). Others like Metfone and Cellcard also offer quite similar package for USD 5 for 7 days.

Bar: went to bars along St 136, St 130, St 104 and St 51. Most bars offer happy hour draught beer at USD 0. 5-0.75 usually until 7 pm. However most good looking girls will usually start to come in around 7-8 pm with most crowded at 9 pm. Barfine USD 10 and lady drink USD 3. 5. Took girls from the bar one 2 nights, one from St 104 (Bar One Zero Four) and another one from St 136 (Mr Butterfly). The one from St 104 cost me USD 70 LT which turned out to be a good catch. Really accommodating and good attitude. Had 3 shots with her and leave at around 10 am when I told her I want to go to breakfast. Whereas the one from St 136 cost me USD 100 LT which was a disaster for me. Will tell me in later post. Personally I feel that bars at St 104 and St 130 have the best quality of girls. Look out for Angry Bird, Bar One Zero Four, Intoxica, Cheries. My POV, don't blame me if you got something different. LOL.

Shanghai bar at St 51 has few lookers too but you have to talk to them directly to check if they are going out with customer. Not all will go. Saw a SYT and try to hook up with her but it failed. Too bad.

Massage: went to Soul Garden City, Luxury World Hotel and St 252 Massage. Did not take any girl for whatever reason. Soul Garden seems to have better quality. Generally the charge is room USD 7-10 plus girl tips for the FJ. Girls are from either Cambodia or Vietnam.

KTV: went Naga World 88 KTV at level 2. Girls from Cambodia, Vietnam and Cambodia. Girl tips is 50 and LT 150,200 or 300 (varies on girls, tips will be waived), you need to ask the mummy specifically what is the particular girl's LT price. Took on Cambodia girl for LT 200. Overall OK, nothing to shout about. Johnny Walker Gold Reserve 750 ML USD 130 and Angkor beer USD 4/ can. Mixer is chargeable (coke / soda 3. 5) and each girl sit with you the KTV will charge USD 16 to the bill. Also surveyed Prince KTV and Cobra KTV. Generally girl tips 30 and LT 150-200. Saw quite a lot of lookers in Prince.

Freelance: Didn't go to much places except Naga's Darling Darling and area near to Naga hotel reception at ground floor. Quality quite good but did not get the quotation.

And also any new guest friendly hotel to recommend?

It doesn't matter what currency you pay with. Either is equally acceptable. However you will pay your visa fee at the airport in USD.

However I find it easy to get money out of the ATM in USD (which will be $100 usd denominations), and then change a $100 usd note every few days at a street moneychanger into Riels. The riel notes that they give you are either 20,000 riel (=5 usd), or 10,000 riel (= 2. 50 usd). That way you have lots of small notes to make daily purchases in restaurants, markets, convenience shops, moto transport, etc. Or even for pussy, where I regularly give a chick ten 10,000 riel notes (= 25 usd).

The rate is more or less fixed around 4000 riels to one USD, and with a small spread on the buy / ask.

Anything that is $1 or more I usually pay in USD. Anything less, will pay in riel. If something, like a tuk tuk or a beer is $1.50, I might pay $! US + 2000 riel. Mix and match as it were.

Yes-it is right next door, set back on street 174. The old Walkabout site is now a Khmer soup / hot pot place!

In 2017 I stayed in the Silver River hotel for more than a week. It's basic with few amenities but is a good value for the price. Pretty well located and very guest friendly. I would stay there again but have booked the Point Boutique Hotel for my next stay because it's even cheaper (booking today) and has newer, nicer rooms. I don't think I brought back a girl to Point Boutique last time but am pretty sure they are guest friendly. If anyone knows different please let me know. In any case I booked for two people just to be sure no problems.

I found some very cheap hotels in Sangkat Chrouy Changva and Sangkat Tonle Basak. Tuk tuks are only a couple bucks from these areas to city center. Would it be unwise to stay in these areas?

When I was in Phnom Penh in December last year, they were still not ready with the renovation. I asked the staff at the massageplace opposite Flamingos if they had any information about the renovation. They thought they should be ready within a few months. Their old website is still running and there are no information about the renovation which is strange.
