The massage scene prevails because certain mongerers like to keep their hobby within a controlled environment and may have an investment in their community which would be harmed if they were seen openly cavorting in a bar and then walking to a hotel or taking a taxi with a girl in tow. THat is why many Thais just do not get the Falang appetite for the girlie bar with take-out.
I used to like the bar scene years ago and I thought that an older gent that I met back then was mad when he told me that he was exclusively a consumer of massages with FS. Now I am that guy. Why? Because I have lived in Asia too long, have gotten older and know most of the conversations and the routine that follows an encounter in a bar. I also have an investment in certain communities in Asia where I work. I do not want to get the reputation of being the tasteless one who drags a trashy P4P girl around with him. So I do the Asian thing of keeping it under wraps. But back in the day when I used to come to Asia for vacation only it was different.
THat said, whenever I get the chance to break out in a city where I don't work and there is no connection that would rat me out, the I happily pick up a freelancer who looks promising I go for it. But most of the time I stick with the massage FS (or an oldfashioned brothel like Sophie / Le Cirque in PP) as it is less obvious what I am doing. I am really tired of the bargirls that overcharge, turn LT into ST, suddenly appear to have the time of the month, suddenly adjust the price / tip upwards, raid the drinks cabinet and cost me a fortune, steal (including hotel stuff which I get charged for) , do the starfish, have a serious odour problem down below, fill me with tales of woe, won't leave when it is all done in the morning and have to be ejected, wear clothes and behave in such a way that the whole hotel knows what I am doing, take phone calls while doing it and much else.

Even nearly $100 for a massage and sex with a 'gorgeous Korean woman' sounds expensive to me. Why bother? Why not pay $8 for a really good one hour oil massage in one of Phnom Penh's better massage places, then head for Airforce or another decent hostess bar and take out a beautiful girl for $45-50 short time, including barfine. Total cost $53-58.
And please don't start on the 'mongering in PP costs a fortune' theme. Sure it's not the cheapest place. If you you want cheap go to the Caribbean or Africa etc. But I find the Khmer girls usually friendly, enthusiastic in bed and reasonably priced. Having been in PP eight months now, I far prefer it to Thailand or the Philippines.

The Rex Hotel has a fish bowl on the first floor with ladies in blue polos (Cambodian) and pink polos (Vietnamese). At about 2pm there were perhaps 15. 20 girls in the fish bowl.
(50:50 Cambodian / Vietnamese). Massage US$10. 00 in a small room for an hour.
I made a mistake and picked a more mature Cambodian lady who rushed through the massage in 20 minutes with no teasing to encourage further investment and with a towel covering
The 'essential bits'. After the 20 minutes she suggested boom boom at US$ 100. 00 and was palpably unhappy when I reached for my clothes to get dressed. I was happy to 'lose'
US$10. 00 on a short (but quite good for a rushed) massage and get out. By this time little willy had lost all enthusiasm and we concluded with a little more massage.
No doubt boom boom is available here. I hope you pick better ladies who don't ask stupid* prices.
* I don't mind negotiating down from a sensible starting point but I get pissed off when the ladies take the [CodeWord140].

Posts: 1171On to something a little more productive, has anyone ever gotten any extras at Sakura massage on 130, about a block or two from the riverside? I stopped there twice when I was in PP, got a $5 body massage (had to wear satin pajamas, WTF, but it was a great Thai massage) and another time for a $7 oil massage (fully nude, a lot of playfulness and she even grabbed my dong a few times and made jokes, but refused to jack me off)?
I figured it was just a legit spot after my two visits but since then guys on other forums have said they got the firm hand shake to end the massage. I'm wondering if they're bullshitting or I simply couldn't get any action.
I did get a nice rub and tug at the massage shop across the street from Cyrcee.

In Phnom Penh and as I expected after two massages I can say that a HJ is pretty well guaranteed. In one case after a 'balls massage' which rivaled the celebrated Rin in Bangkok.
Damn and after 40 minutes of erotic stimulation, I can't find the place again of Sisowath Quay.

Anyone who's ever been to PP and says it's not a noisy city is deluded.
I've been to PP over 20 times in the last 3 1/2 years. I keep changing hotels because of the noise of traffic, weddings, funerals, karaoke joints, sales people with their 1000 watt speaker setups, etc.
Complaining about sleep deprivation in PP is not unjust. It is what it is, a noisy Asian city.

I didn't say Phnom Penh should be avoided at all costs. Some people like it. Some people even like the urban centers of India (!). But if you dislike extremely loud noise on a consistent basis, or if you're a light sleeper who needs rest, then you should look elsewhere.

It is a pity that some complain unjustifiably about so-called 'sleep deprivation' due to traffic noise unless you are used to living in a desert.
