I'm worried that I might be too much of a special case to find what I'm looking for, so any help is appreciated. I'm 30 years old and looking to lose my virginity in Cambodia. I'm very fit and attractive, and can't really explain why I haven't lost it yet back in the US, but have never had a girlfriend. I guess I'm too shy. Too complicated to go into. Anyways, the only reason I would want to lose it here is because I can find attractive and young (18 yo) girls here that I wouldn't have a chance with, given my age, in the US. And girls my age in the US are too experienced for me to feel comfortable with. But a nice first time experience isn't the only consideration. I don't drink or dance. So bars, nightclubs, and KTV locations are pretty much out of the question. I've been around Phnom Penh now a few days. I've been by all the popular locations and haven't seen any real possibilities. Can't deal with bars, the girls on 63rd st are mostly average looking, and haven't found any brothels. I had an awkward experience yesterday when I entered a Tuol Kork KTV thinking, as I had been told, that KTV establishments are thinly veiled brothels, and when I was taken to the karaoke room and I explained that I don't drink, would only want a coke, don't want to sing either, and asked where the girls were it seemed the bouncer / host guy there wanted me to leave. Don't know how safe it would have been for me there anyways given two of the girls sitting out front looked no older than 14-15. So what's my best option? I can tell a moto driver to bring me girls, but they can only bring 1-2 at a time and most of the time ignore my request for 18yos and bring me older girls. I'd rather choose from a much bigger group. Are the brothel days in Phnom Penh over? Am I too late? Is Pattaya a better option for me? I came to Cambodia for other reasons, so if nothing happens it would be disappointing but not a waste. But I also don't want to have regrets when I leave.

Since you lament the days of brothels, I assume you're into paying, that's no problem. I'm not too familiar with the massage scene in PP, never have tried, so others here can advise better about that. Whenever I visit PP, I go to Martinis to see how things are there. With some patience you should be able to find something acceptable there-by patience, I mean that sometimes she hasn't arrived yet if you get there at 10pm, but maybe she will by midnight. Or maybe not. Another scene to try are the bars on streets 104 and 136. I might split an evening's outing between 2 of these 3 areas, maybe even all three if I'm not having any luck. For late night there's always Heart of Darkness and I guess these days Pontoon, which are frequented by freelancers. AS for not liking nightclubs and bars, well. Me neither. But since that's where the girls are I just grin and bear it until I find what I'm looking for. You can always drink something non-alcoholic, which I often do. But these girls are out there looking to find customers, so any kind of bar / club culture is not a priority to them. They don't care at all if you know how to dance, or are willing to go on the dancefloor or not, or how much you drink or whatever. Just imagine you're an undercover detective posing as a club-goer. You're on a mission. Yeah but if you are going to make a hard rule against going to bars, clubs or ktv's, it seems like you're eliminating the vast majority of the pie. That's where the girls are in PP. I'm surprised you'd be willing to go to a creepy area like Tuol Kok and explore(yuck!) but not willing to go into foreigner-oriented bars and clubs that to me seem much more comfortable and less scary.

That said, to me Pattaya seems a bit off putting, and I think would be especially for someone new to all this. Bangkok for some reason seems less so, classier in a way. Less seedy. A place like Nana Plaza (a kind of mall of gogo bars) would blow your mind, it needs to be done. Every girl in the place is instantly available. And for the type you're talking about. 18 and seemingly out of reach in terms of looks, Rainbow 4 is just what the doctor ordered. It's got 2 stages packed with that type.

Its been a couple of years since I was in beautiful Cambodia. A friend of mine just returned from a trip and said the place has changed dramatically in the last two years or so. Is this true? I know that the HoD closed down some years ago, is the Walkabout still going strong (well its version of strong anyway)? What about the other haunts? I'm coming over in July and would like a heads up if possible.

I don't want to do anything illegal. What I meant was cute type slim women with cute faces. Having been to Thailand before I know that some Thai girls can be 20 and still look like a typical western teen. Whereas a typical western 20 year old is usually starting to get overweight and not so pretty LOL. In fact, one of the reasons I need to go abroad LOL.

BUt I have never been to Cambodia nor much exploration of Bangkok. I am aware that to pay for sex in Thailand the girl has to be 18 or 20? But legal age to have mutual sex is lower if unpaid. Not sure Cambodia laws. Nonetheless as I said its not an 'age' I am looking for but a 'look'. I'll stick to the law!

I wonder out of these 3 places which has the highest concentration of younger-looking women.

Khmer girls are different from Thai girls in their attitude to customers, and the hostess bar culture is also different. If you want to able to choose a young 18-20 year old cutie with no hassles then Bangkok and Pattaya are better. Virtually no girls in the Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy or Soi 6 (?) will refuse a barfine request.

In Phnom Penh this is not the case, as you can see from previous posts. In PP you need to ask the girl early on whether she will barfine or not. And in some cases she is more likely to say yes if you are well dressed and don't grope her excessively in the bar. You could say Khmer hostesses can have a more conservative approach to their work. In Thailand it is just purely business. How many barang customers can they churn through to fund their family or local sponging boyfriend.

There is also a difference in cost, Thailand being more expensive.

In Soi Cowboy bars or Nana Plaza, some girls are now asking for $75 short time (and getting it) plus $20 barfine. Add in one lady drink, a beer, plus maybe $10 for a short time hotel, and your one hour of heaven with a hot 18 year old is over $100.

Probably similar prices in top Pattaya spots. Of course there are cheaper places, plus freelancers, in both Bangkok and Pattaya (sometimes very cheap, which makes you wonder about their HIV status) , but generally Thailand will cost you much more than Phnom Penh, if that is a factor in your decision making.

Girls in Phnom Penh will cost you $15-30 for short time, or $20-40 for all night. Plus $6-10 barfine. Can be more expensive in upmarket places like Naga Casino (Darling Darling). Depends a bit on your negotiating skills and how desperate a girl is for money that week.

Khmer girls can look different to Thai girls. Cambodia has a more varied ethnic mix than Thailand, with girls who are half Chinese, Lao, Vietnamese, or Burmese. But to be honest I think they all look pretty damn hot compared to 'western whale women'.

In terms of pure sexual performance you may find that Thai girls are more experienced and certainly more willing to consider blow jobs, anal sex, CIM, and COF than Khmers.

I'm sure you'll find a lovely girl (or many) whichever destination you choose.

To be honest, that's what I was looking for. And it's not being able to please the girl that I'm worried about. I couldn't care less about that. I just want someone young and attractive because I know that I probably will never be able to get an 18yo back in the states. I also don't want to go through the hassle at the bars. Bars put me off and it's really only about sex. If I wanted to chat a girl up I'd stick to american girls who can at least speak english well and can hold a decent conversation. On the other hand, I don't want it to be too cold and business-like and not feel like I have many options. In PP I didn't feel like there were many attractive girls outside of the bar district. From what I've read of Pattaya it seems you can walk the beach and girls will wave you down. But those reports were also from years back.

Its true that PP isn't anymore what it was in the 90's BUT you still will find nice younger-looking women in the Heart off darkness and around this area if I can find them I am sure you will as well after all I don't look for them they are just there. It seems some expats don't wana give the info people ask for. Why this forum is made for? Exactly to help eachother.

The question about how PP is around newyear I will comfirm its much much more decent then in Thailand little water more fun but as stated many girls (the ones that have cash) will go to the provinces but that not mean you have to avoid PP still enough action the only thing that bother me alittle that some of my favorite bars are closed but whatever its only 3 days.

Thats a very valid point there thanks, I had not considered it, so maybe its best to avoid the place if thats the case as girls might well be in short supply, so, is this like there version of new year?

My post wasn't meant to dissuade anyone from visiting PP during Khmer New Year. I was merely warning punters that there will probably be less girls around than normal. Having said that, I tend to find that mongering in PP is a bit of a lucky draw. One week it might be excellent, the next it could be crap. But regardless of that I still love Phnom Penh, and visiting the place every 2/3 months gives me a well deserved break from Bangkok. Looking forward to rolling into town again in 2 weeks.

If you do, is it as crazy as Thailand, or?

Never been in Cambo at Songkran but I've heard that it's definately not as hardcore as Thailand. I guess it's more like Thailand used to be years ago before the waterguns etc were introduced, more traditional and more respectfull.

I was in Phnom Penh last year in the days leading up to Khmer New Year and the city does become very quiet. Lots of girls take off to the provinces to be with their family, leaving far less options for mongering. It's worth keeping that in mind if you intend to visit during that time of year.

I am in Siem Reap right now. I just asked the lady at the desk of the hotel where I am staying. She said the water festival will be April 13-16. She said they only play a little bit, not as hard as the one in Thailand.

In Phnom Penh nowadays it's all about bars and the few nightclub freelancers.

You won't find what you're looking for if you don't like those environments.

There are still girls on the beach road in Pattaya, but I doubt you'd like them. Many are about 40 and very rough looking, like streetwalkers back in the US.

I still say your best bet is massage parlours in Bangkok. Minimum hassle and 18ish girls available in some.

Go to Bangkok, dress respectably, not in shorts and sandals, go to the upmarket places, or think they're upmarket, like Q Bar or Bed Supperclub, there are tons of places where locals hang out and many people do speak relatively good english, in some cases very good, how do you think they communicate with the farangs that they work with in many of the companies. If they do not see you as a sex tourist they will take an interest particularly in a young stud. Some years back I went into a department store and asked about the cost of bedding, not something a usual tourist would do. The sales woman who was about 30, not too old for an old fart like me, actually reached out, took my hand and walked me around to another part of the shop where the bedding was. I will bet I could have followed up and at least got a first date, but I was asking the questions to figure out how much to give the "child bride" that I was supporting. I have a son your age, he is mucking around with women of 30 etc, and won't let me tell him he needs a younger girl, not one reaching her use by date. When I took ill in Bangkok last year, I asked him to come over and escort me home, I didn't need it, but I hoped he would come and see that there are still women in the world who are not throw backs to elephants, but he could not see the wood for the trees. He spotted all the ugly ones and lost interest. Your first date with a thai girl may well be a threesome, not in that way, she will bring a chaperone to check you out, second date you are on your own, they are adventurous, they want to sample a farang at least once in their lives, and don't ask if they have been checked for HIV, you will at a minimum get your face slapped by any decent girl.
