Sorry to be a serial poster but it shows how quiet the town is.

Our kiwi mate stu passed away in the arly hours last tuesday.

Yoop jrown the khmers would say-deep night.

Stu was found by his khmer ex and her friend sitting in the chair with the TV blareing and an empty bottle of whiskey-DEAD.

The cops wanted 800 from the landlady for the inconvenience,300 for the ambulance to the hospital ten minutes away-you know the score.

Stu was a great chap,a real enthusiast,he would put anyone here to shame as far as P4P goes.

He had and encylopaedic knowledge of hostess bars,not just in PP but all over the world.

I will never forget him even though I only knew him for two years,he had become as close as anyone I know for real friendship.

We are both small town kiwis and we also had a few personal experiences in faraway places long ago on the dark side that cannot be shared.We are brothers.

Hi guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I am currently in PP for a couple of days with my wife and I would like to find some action that is discrete and does not require a large time investment.

I am somewhat put off by reports of theft from brothels on 154th St. Do you think a viable option would be to carry my things in a day pack with locks on the zips? I tried a 4 hands massage in SR but there were no extras on offer. Do most massage places in PP offer extras? If anyone knows about Islands Massage on Sisowith quay, I would be interested to know.

So if you re a long time time reader you should know the good area for finding girls. Some locations are still the same since I started to read the forum in 2001.

So strange how the massage place has changed in the last 7 years. Until 2004, Cambodia was almost confidential. Just svay pak and maybe tuol kok was knowed. NGo started to put the light of the network on svay pak. That s make two things svay pak closed under pressure of ngo, but tourist started to be more numerous in Cambodia, helped by thaksin tourist regulation, since 2006. For those who was reader of ISG some years ago they will see that all the famous place like Lay Lay or tommy. Street 63 has gone, . This place catered local and barang. Pimps and girls was here to make money and nothing else (many girls was superstar in some forum. Not just give me a name? ). Some places was already stoled the barang but they was a small minority. Now it s the rule. Simply because the barang has not change their routine, the barang customer look more like a stupid farang in need of exotism and living in the golden age o than sex expat. (so if you think long term expat will give you info, you re wrong, long term expat hate the new farang tourist. For them they killed their little paradise)

Have you also think why always the barang get trouble in this place? Simply because if something happened to a khmer guy in a viet brothel, the brothel will get a pineapple bomb of AK47 firegun. By the law in Cambodia a foreigner is not allow anymore to have a weapon (thank Hun sen). That s why many brothel targeted the barang. They are sure nothing bad will happened. During the golden age barang catered gun for their protection, that s why maybe scams was not so common. The Cambodian police always racketed the viet brothels and have interest for not report your problem.

So if you want to avoid problem, AVOID the places in street 63 and street 154, there is enough brothel all around the city. For sure they are less numerous than before. Due Ngo pressure but simply go out phnom penh or siem reap.

Some will also notice that many place don t accepted barang as customer. It s simple for this people the equation Barang=NGO problems.

Hate to harp on but went to the khmer nightclub le mekong tonight.

Great time was had by us despite taking our girlfriends.

So many lovely girls there bit one would have to speak khmer to snare one.

The khmer have a really good culture as far as singing and dancing goes.

So many venues that the barang never go to.

It is refreshing to go out without running into drunken barang chancers.

Been back in PP for a few weeks and staying in a guesthouse in 174 just down from the walkabou.

Been there a few times recently and it is pretty bleak especially in the daytime. Went for brekkie this morning and I was the only customer in the place, no men and no girls-unbelievable.

Is this some kind of record?

As a contrast to the slim pickings at the walkabou the bars in 136 and 104 are bursting at the seams with keen girls. I have never seen better and there are many girls from the garment factories.

So many beauties and unlike the past are keen to go?

You can get a good massage at Islands, but don't expect extras. In fact, there will probably several other massages going on at the same time, in the same room, as your massage. If you want discrete, try the Heaven Hotel (St 148 @ 19th). Walk up to the second floor. It's a fishbowl operation. Not all of the girls are beautiful, but some are. It's $5.00 for an hour massage. The rooms are nice, and has bathrooms en suite.

Sorry to hear that Cleve was fired, and that they disestablished the shorttime room.

Really sad about the good girls that worked at the Walkabout quiting, they were fun to talk to (about all).

Loved the upstairs bar, there was always something to pick-up at all times of the day-night!!!

bang - another strike by the religious fanatics brigade. cambodia has loads of tourists, no need for the mongers clientele anymore and it gives them a "bad" reputation anyway. the question is only: "what will come next"?

as much as i despise the "religious fanatics brigade," i don't think they were responsible this time. walkabout brought this on themselves by their complete lack of discretion in the face of growing public (cambodian) sentiment against them. this place has the worst reputation in phnom penh among the locals, because everyone can see inside and know pretty much what is going on. the locals, never passing up a chance to gossip and embellish the truth, actually think it is worse than it is. most think there are numerous **** girls, live sex shows in the upstairs bar, etc. the upstairs bar has been closed for awhile, and the owner says this is because he can no longer find enough staff. if that is true, it is because respectable girls will no longer work there even in a bartender/waitress position. (and yes, the girls who have worked there over the years have for the most part been "good" girls.)

but for toul kok i totaly disagree with you, first toul kok have mostly khmer brothels. in all the khmer brothels in toul kok girls are free, no mamasan or papasan. and in 7 years no girls try to stoled my valuable or doing bad things. the girls here work only for feeding their family. most of the girls are really kind. but since2/3 years the quality fall dramaticly

you have a good point. when i included the toul kok brothels, i was talking more about the fact that the clientele was mostly local than that they were rip off joints. i have never been ripped off in one, but i also have very limited experience in them, so i assumed that was the reason. my friends who like the brothel scene do indeed prefer toul kok, so maybe i should check it out more. i also agree about the quality drop, looks-wise.

You guys are killing me with curiosity now! In my several trips to PP, I never ventured into places on 154 or 63rd street--Martini, HoD, other bars were plenty before I ran out of energy. Now I have to visit 154/63rd st just to find out how the money, cigs, lighter, etc disappear. Forget the sex, I want to learn the magic.

If you love magic, go to chowkit in kuala lumpur. Here they will give fear in more. You will have ever no time to bonk the girl. Police raid! Police raid!

There is basically no difference between the places on St. 154 and St. 63, or the similar the places in Tuol Kok, for that matter. All cater primarily to locals (I'd say the ratio of Cambodians to foreigners at Sony is about 10-1), all will try to rip you off, and all charge $5 unless there has been a recent change.

And yes, the magic is that your money will disappear one way or another.

Right -- decoy sex. Technically speaking, it counts. The minimum possible in order to distract you just long enough to remove your cash from your out-of-view pants.
