I read your post about the thai girls and your dream to get married to a Cambodian. I can only guess its a taxi girl of sorts since you only spent a few days here and are looking for a sex shop also. If you had a regular girl you would now teach her french kissing. From your thai experiences I deduct that you might not have the deepest understanding of the asian mentality and culture. Blaming everything on the thai liers is not the answer to your ignorance. The fact that you want to marry a girl you just met in April shows that you might not really know much about marriage and women in general. When people, and not just girls tell you things here the truth as you know it varies quite a bit. I find it hard to explain I've only been here 5 years myself but they have a different take on things like that. And not to screw you over necessarily. If you want to really be with them and enjoy it you have to be cool and learn how to be a player. Not just assume people are the same the world over. It is a very complex topic but to make it simple: you should not marry anybody unless you know them well, lets say 3 years or so and you know what you're getting into. On the other hand you should also understand that there has to be symmetry for it to work. If your girl is a lot younger and better looking than you you have to make up for it in cash. Take your time there is always a lot more where the last one came from. Avoid drama.

Generally speaking the Khmer people are more lay back and friendly than their thai counterparts, although they can get as pissed off as anyone can if you treat them badly. Acid attacks happen in Cambodia. We are all defined to a certain level by our experiances. Thailand was once a great place for a good genuine holiday. Times have changed for various reasons especially for mongers. The lies/scams are all to common. This is also true in Cambodia to a smaller extent. I have been lied to many times by girls but only the more harmless stuff like " I stay you long time ". This may/may not change in the futue as it did in Thailand. The common thread is they are all working girls with a limited time to make money. If you want a girl to marry then take your time and find yourself a non " working girl ".

Cambodia only came out of the Khmar Rouge since the 1970`s and is still developing, Cambodian goverment will not allow Gogo`s like Bangkok/pattaya, and of course you have vietnamese woman muscling in, in the night life
I have met a few cambodian woman that are a "little" like there Cambodian sisters, but you know, we all need to get money from somewere.
oh and by the way, i don`t have any money to go to SE asia next year, so if any mongers want to put a few thousand dollars my way, only joking mr jackson LOL.

Posts: 3Thanx man, just what I needed to hear, I think I will forfill my Cambodian "dream girl" and see what happend. My biggest problem amongst thai, is the lie and lie and lie. They soon forget what they lie about, so then come another lie. What can I expect from a Cambodian? You know? I am ready to help with family and all that, but I will not stand another lie. In my oppinion, I do not think Cambodian are the same as thai in this point. But what the hell do I know, I only been there for 3 days.

Posts: 111In reply to towoldse re thai v cambodian women,in my experience the cambodians are vastly different.
I,too have observed a community of thai women in australia for more than 25 years.I have seen amongst 95% of these women compulsive gambling, constant infidelity and shameful treatment of children.I know thai born kids in jail, dead from drug overdoses and some deportations.
I believe that the cambodians are missing many of the thai traits, some women gamble but the stakes are modest, they are less vain and self centred and less likely to blatantly lie.
In common with the thai is the responsability that they feel for the family and the family often take advantage of the working girl who has the capacity to earn good money.Less cambodian taxi girls have children, very few have tatoos and they spend far less on jewellry, makeup and their hair.
I took a cambodian girl to australia and the culture shock was as extreme as it is with a thai, they are not adaptable.
To me the cambodians character reflects their history of being sandwiched between the greedy thai and the voracious vietnamese.

I tried searching, but couldn't find any info. I'll be coming to PNH in October, and usually get some shirts done in Bangkok. I'd prefer to keep the money in Cambodia if I can find a good quality/price in a local tailor.
If anyone has firsthand knowledge, I'd love to hear from them.

Posts: 42Le Cyrcée: Business as usual - Sophie ? (didn't check)
I walked into La Cyrcée one Sunday at 18:00. Friendly place, friendly owner. The girls were getting ready for work and my favorite soon appeared dressed in a luscious robe.
From what I learned, http://www.4womenoftheworld.com is the culprit. Some American, it says, took pictures of girls from Sophie's, Walkabout and Mikado and published them on his site. The Cambodian authorities didn't like the publicity and threatened to close down these establishments. Two of them paid - and one didn't and is now closed. Now don't ask me how the city fathers should have known about this site, but that's the story I got and there may be many more. At any rate, there is no sign of any other crackdown.
There were many girls around trying to push very gently for a threesome, foresome or handsome, but me and my sweetheart stayed firm. I payed for the drinks and the fees for a short-time upstairs when the lights went off. A ten minute wait and I could convince my darling to move to my hotel. She chose the moto outside and we had a wonderful time until the morning. There is nothing like a warm, open, good smelling young body next to yours in the middle of the night.
