    3 Nights in July

    Gentlemen,

Here is a field report that I have finally gotten around to writing after being back almost a month! My apologies if the information is a bit stale, but I think most of it will still be relevant.

I was in PP the first part of July for 3 nights, coming from BKK. I took the Air Asia flight, which has progressively gotten more expensive over time. $20 for the visa, but stupid me, for some reason I had no cash and I thought they would take my credit card. Fortunately, the visa guy, and the immigration official, allowed me to go beyond the immigration counters, into the area close to the baggage pick up, and use the ATM! Then I reversed back through immigration and paid for my visa, then walked back thorough immigration again! Very strange, but at least they used some common sense and let me at the ATM so I could enter their country and spend lots of my money.

I jumped on a motor bike, and he took me to Big Luck / Hong Kong for $2. The hotel was nice; I stayed on the 4th floor, king size bed, breakfast included, $25 a night. The pool was $2 extra, but not ‘per day’ as I mistakenly thought, but $2 ‘per session’. On my last day I used it twice, once in the afternoon and once in the evening, and they tried to charge me $4 on check out. However, to their credit, they waived it off as a mistake on my part, and only charged me $2. No in-room safe, but what appeared to be fairly secure lock boxes behind the front desk. No idea about WIFI, as I don’t travel in PP with a laptop, or even camera.

My first afternoon I walked around looking for something to do, and found out the Soho2 is closed. Knocked on the door, but was told by some westerner that he was just living there now, and not open. I thought it was just the time of day, but a later visit in the evening bore it out; sadly closed. I was looking forward to checking out the ‘tunnels’.

That same evening I went to Sophie’s. I have been to PP a few times, and know the system well enough, but this time, just as I’m settling in at the bar with my $5 'chosen one', I made the mistake of popping a vitamin V. The girl suddenly turns cold, figuring I’m going to take hours to shoot, and starts talking about ‘$5 for 5 minutes’ and ‘$10 till you pop’ etc. I politely decline the hard sell for the back room, finish my beer, and leave, clearly indicating I was not impressed with the new pricing structure, and vowing to tell all my friends on the internet about the poor service.

The rest of my time I spent mostly in the brothels, where the best value is to be had IMHO. I does take a clear head to avoid the rip offs, however. I find the best way to prevent them stealing money out of your pockets is to not take off your pants! I have done this countless times, and no money ever stolen. The girl lays down, I unzip, whip it out, and the deed is done. Often the girl complains because she knows that they won’t get any extra from my pockets, but I stand firm and get the job done. I have found that after visiting the same place few times, they don’t try to rip you off anymore. I do take off my kit for subsequent visits, and am usually shown to a regular room as well. I believe they have certain rooms that are set up for the rip off action; the regular rooms are where the girls actually live too.

I visited the place on the corner of 154 and Norodom about 6 times. There are two places side by side there, but I patronized only one. All girls $5 each, very cute, and they open early. I even went there about 11am on the second day. Another place I went to was on 63st and about 242st. The papa wanted $5 for the regular girls, but he wouldn’t budge from $10 for the cute ones. With much reluctance, I broke down and paid the money, but it was well worth it!

I hired a motorbike one night and he drove me all around town for some reconnaissance. We went to all the usual bars and areas, and some places off the track, like Tol Kouk. One new place (to me) he took me to was an area just south of Sihanouk Blvd on Sothearos. The driver told me it used to be some sort of dormitory or school for fine arts students. We stopped and I had a look around; not for the faint of heart! Some cute girls, but the conditions seemed lacking, and one mama quoted me $15. I did not even bother negotiating, but continued on my way. Perhaps on another visit I may come back to this area and investigate further. That evening I managed to poke my head into almost all the spots around town; $3 well spent.

I also patronized the 63st area around 184st. No problems, but I kept my pants on; $5 a pop. However, one establishment in this area I went into gave me a very bad feeling. I asked the girl for a BJ, but once she realized I was not going to remove my pants, she refused the deal. I simply walked out. On my way out I met another monger coming in and advised him to be careful with this place. Sure enough, about one minute later, he walked out too. Better safe than sorry, and there are lots of other providers.

I had dinner and beers many relaxing evenings on the riverfront, Tex Mex at Sharkey’s and nights under the PP stars. I also stocked up at the pharmacy; regular and generic Cialis, 4 caps, $5 and $4 respectively, generic Vitamin V, $9 for 20. $2 moto back to the airport, $25 departure tax, and I’m off back to BKK. Another great holiday in PP! I hope you find this information useful.

I have been to Cyrcee and checked under the dresses and there was a panty there.

Am in Siem Reap now no more PP so somebody else needs to check what's really happening or not at Sophie's.

    Sophies ??

Oh no can it really be true? SOPHIES closed? I was so looking forward to go to PP for party and play and so on, and one of the real attractions were, after reading this forum, to go to SOPHIES for the samples at the bar and so on.

What happened? NGO? Does anyone have opinon if it will regain its former working order?

What a pity. Change is usually not for the better.

Now that I come to think of it, do the girls in Cyrcee Club wear underwear now or not. I read in here that it use to be "not" and was changed to "on".

A rather disturbing details one way or the other. It was not Sunday when I was still serviced it was the day before, Wednesday night!! I remembered correctly this morning. Yesterday my brain was still kind of foggy it seems. I indeed went to Sophie on Sunday night but it was well after closing time at 1am and so the lights were off and stairway door closed. I went back Wednesday night at around 12h and it was then that I was serviced.

But then, how come I was still serviced with five sample BJ on Wednesday night when the ban was supposedly two days before Thursday night? It therefore either is not true (and would be a very bad joke indeed) or since I was the only one on Wednesday and it was near closing time they made an exception to the rule.

There were only about 7-8 girls when I arrived on Wednesday and the ambiance was closing time ambiance. I sat down, ordered drink, then the pant was unzipped and they started the show. Samples were OK but nothing outstanding so I passed over the actual deed. When I passed on the going to back room offer (I never do in Sophie) one of the older girl made a comment that if they knew I would not go to the back room they would not have given me sample. This was bullshit and I told her in no mild terms. I also ignored their claim for $3 a sample and just gave them the normal $1 price, which they seemed happy with. They also proposed to go all the way with the BJ after I declined the room, so everything seemed like normal on that day. I declined this last offer as well as I had great plans for the next day, and I am very happy I did as my plan turned out just that great indeed. The only reason I went to Sophie on Thursday night was because I was still horny just thinking about my experience during the day so I felt a second quick release was needed.

It seems strange that they would say sampling is only if you go to the back room. This has never been so in Sophie. Might be because they were going against the "new ban"? Or did they give me the cold shower on Thursday because of my behavior on the previous day? But then none of the six guys I saw there on Thursday seemed to have been serviced either...

Because of all this I am a bit in doubt about what is the real deal after all.

We therefore would need more confirmations than just my experience.

    Who's next?

    Sophie Club closed :(

Very bad news, guys. Sophie Club is no more, at least no more like we used to know. No more blow jobs, that is. I just came out from that club and am using the internet cafe next door. Apparently, since two days they are not allowed to engage in that activity anymore. I came here last Sunday and was still serviced, but today, Thursday night, I've got nothing at all apart from invitation to buy ladies' drinks.

After the two last drunkards got out the bartenders finally explained it to me. As long as there were people they only pretended not to speak English. They really should fucking be more explicit right away. Instead, they accept orders for drinks and say nothing unless you virtually torture them into explaining what happened.

When I came in today there was four people quietly speaking at the bar. At first I thought the girls would not do anything because these four were just hanging out there. I was kind of pissed and took a walk. When I came back, two drunkards were sitting there, just as unserviced as I was and as the four previous guys were. I started to hit the two ladies behind the bar with questions and only got the answer when the two drunkards went out.

This is very bad news and goes a step further in making Cambodia more and more boring as a sex tourism destination. Who knows whether normal activities will resume later or not. May or may not be, depending probably on proper protection money paid or not or maybe on so-called political will.

To be honest the blow jobs you would get there were not as good in quality as the ones you would get in Bangkok or Pattaya blow job bars but it was better than nothing and the sampling system was really kind of fun. Now you'll have to get your blow jobs the normal way, hiring a hooker or otherwise. No more cheap and quick jobs when you felt like getting some with your drink.

Would you feel "safe"?

Anyway Flamingo remain my favored place to stay in PP.
    To VNmonger,

I never trust the in room safe in a 2-3 star hotel ,put your money in the hotel safe instead and I have got money stolen in a Pattaya Hotel few month ago lucky they only take 2000 bht I know it is done by hotel staff, I compain to owner and got a discount for my room so I know this happen before.

    [QUOTE=That Asshole]Dear Opebo,

Thanks for the support. I would just like to make a note that "Humble Turd" is dead. He passed away about 6 months ago. Now sure he must be in Hell, where he deserves to be by his evil life. Before he passed out, he handed me his Will. And that was to follow in his footsteps.

Long live humble turd as we say in England, but why should mongers go to hell, its only because christain and other religions have decided that johns and prostitutes are against the law, and of course we get the witch hunts.

We mongers are giving money to poor woman, building up the economys of 3rd world countrys, "man" we mongers are life savers.

    Greetings Niknoy,

It appears that you inadvertently forgot to correctly place the quote tags in this report. Usually I can fix this sort of thing before it's displayed, but I don't have a clue as to how you intended this report to appear.

The quote tags are simple to use, all you have to do is look for them in the text. Anything that you want to appear in quotes must start with "[quote]" and end with "[/quote ]". Please note the "/" forward slash in the last tag. It's that simple.

In addition, you can preview your report before it's posted, so it's easy to check if you got it right before it's displayed in The Forum.

    Flamingo

In late June I stayed at the Flamingo. After checking in, I tried to use the safe in the room. As usual I tried the safe first before putting my valuables inside. Capitol Guesthouse Bus

What's the problem about Capitol Busses? I always took them to S.R., Poipet or Sihanoukville. Always on time. Never expierienced any problems like theft, breakdowns etc.

LAX-PNH China Airlines $303 including taxes

Just saw this posted on Flyertalk. I know it works for October dates, but possibly some September and early November flights too. Bookable on www.travelocity.com and cheaptickets.com

This will probably disappear quickly, so jump on it.

Rooms from $36 to $52.
I would agree with that assessment of the Billabong. Terrific breakfast BTW. I arrived on a Sunday with a small supply of US dollars and plenty of US Travellers Cheques. Unlike Flamingo's they do not negoiate travellers cheques except when paying the bill on departure. The nice lady on reception also told me that I would be unable to cash T/C's anywhere on Sunday. In my room I perused the yellow pages and found entries for several banks which were open on Sunday. I strolled out to Monivong to the Cambodia Asia Bank and had no problem changing TC's with the usual 2% commission. I took great delight in informing the recepionist.

The so call fast boat costs USD25.00 and Mekong Express Bus at USD10 per seat with a little refreshment given.

Both are from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap or vs.

The boat is not a good way to go, the road to SR is a good one and the bus made it in about 5 hours my last trip. Take the Mekong Express bus, located on riverfront. Get a moto to take you there 1day before you leave and buy the ticket. These buses are popular so tickets can be soldout if you just show up expecting to get onboard.

Don't take the cheap buses that leave from the Capitol guest house. The Mekong charges more but you get what you pay for and it's still cheap, under $10 sorry I don't remember exact prices even though it's less than 1 year still.

The boat costs over $20 and takes around 7 hours. In this case you don't get what you pay for since it's overpriced and a miserable trip. IMO.
