I know that monthly salaries for a girl working in hotel or restaurant, even in place like Shangai Bar, is $60 a month but they NEED to add some income from tips or late activities.

Shangai girls are being dudded by the arsehole new pommie manager.
Wages have been lowered form 80 to 70 to 50 and last week a girl broke an already chipped mug and had 50 cents deducted from her wages.The girls get a dollar of every drink that you buy them so be fair.
The new manager has a rule that if a girl sits with you for more than ten minutes and you don't buy a drink then she moves on!
This guy put a barang customer in hospital a few weeks ago so beware,he is a ****.
I just had a call from a really beautiful khmer girl from shanghai inviting me to go her home in the bush for a few days.These young girls "never go with customer" except when they do.I have taken her and her viet mate out dancing a few times and paid for english lesons for one of them and driving lessons for the other.If one has the time to court these girls they can be very obliging and comparitively low maintenance.

by all the descriptions here, i know that i will not be visiting sophie's. it all sounds too insane & maddening for me to comprehend right now. but will just stop in to take a peek at 63rd street. but then remain at the regular gathering places. martini's, shanghai, sharkey's, rose bar, dv8, etc. i hope that some others describe a few more trip reports before i leave in a couple of weeks. cheers!

Why the hell do you take your passport in 63rd?? That's a no-no.

Once I went there with 5$, some 1$'s, cigs and lighter.
After the shower even the cigs were gone.

If a local driver tells you to beware, then its something that all should pay attention to as this driver is being very honest with his warning to stay away from St 63 brothels.
Note: I had some motodops trying to drive me and lure me to St 63 as some are in on the scam and takes a profit from your stolen goods.
Like I said, Sovann is honest about this.

Just had excess bodily fluids drained at Cyrcee. I would say there was only one girl who would classify as being beautiful - but everyone was playful and friendly.

It's a bit disconcerting to enter and be literally swarmed by approximately ten girls, but once I figured they weren't going to pickpocket me I was able to relax, and quite enjoyed the experience. My girl gave me a quite pleasant oral examination, and could not have been more friendly.

You get what you pay for. I think the $20 girls from Martini are better deals than the $5 girls on 63rd st.

If the girls think they can squeeze more money out of someone they will always try. ....Remember there are several places in Cambodia where a ST on their premises (for a barang) goes for $5 so anything more than $10ST is a rip-off (and I'm sure the girls are well aware of this).

I think your right that the girls should be happy with $20 ST. No matter the number of pops. $20 LT is more like it. Last year the girls at Martini would go for $20 LT. They might start at $30 but came down to reality quickly. The girls working in hotels and restaurants average monthly salaries is $20 A month.. If they can live off this at then $20 bucks a night is pretty good money .

I was trying to have Tina for two pops at $20 but she just laughed. I then tried her for all night for $30 but she would rather do ST then come back to Martini to make more money. I would not want an unknown girl in the same room all night anyway for potential theft problem.

The prices seem to be standard for all girls at Martini. One night sitting at the next table to me was an old guy, 3 different girls came by begging him to take them without success. The mamasan kep encouraging other girls to convince this guy. So you could probably get lower prices if you drive a hard bargain.

Remember a bowl of noodle soup will cost about $3.00, sandwich $1.50, beer $1.50 in a bar. So $20 ST is still a very good deal relative to local costs of living, especially when these girls provide good service with no attitude problem.

It could have something to do with christmas/NYE though as the demand from mongers is at its peak and the girls can afford to be choosy. A freelancer at another bar said $40LT to me and I laughed. She then dropped to $30 and I said that I only pay $20. So many guys were in the bar she decided to take her business elsewhere which I suppose is understandable. I never ask them the price and have always paid $20 the next morning. Occassionally I have been really tired and given them $10 after one shot and will hand them 2000-4000riel to get back to the bar. The best thing to do is to not appear too eager otherwise you will get taken. If a FL refused to give me 2 pops for $20 then I wouldnt pay her the full amount.
