The funny thing about being with a real beauty is that they knock your socks off when you are first with them. Then after you have been with them for a while, their beauty fades (in your eyes) because you get used to it.

I have a friend who married a Chinese girl and had a hard time getting her to come to the U.S. She finally agreed under the condition that he will be willing to go back with her to China after 3 years in the U.S.

3 years later, he left the U.S., went to China with her and her family set them up with a business. He is Chinese-American, is now living in China and making more money then he thought was possible. He is also very happy now.

You can get a visa to enter China at one of the visa processing service at the HK Airport. I think if you give it to them before 9AM and pay an express service chg, you will have a visa in hand by 4:30PM the same day. Make sure that your passport size photo is attach and you have not been convicted of a major felony and currently spending a few days in the outside world. If you are clean then there should be no problem.

Sure, that is correct. I don't think he mentioned in the original post that he was traveling through HK, though. I was describing a general point of requiring a visa to get into China.

So if it's a wife or a long term companion you are looking for, it's better to look more for a plain Jane. She might also be demanding, disloyal and troublesome, but the probablity is lower. It's all a question of PROBABILITIES, and choosing the right girl by being a good judge of character.

That being said, I agree with you Joe. Most Chinese women are more concerned about practicalities and money, and less concerned about romantic love and loyalty. They talk about love and loyalty, but they don't walk the talk, for the reasons you so eloquently gave.

If you KNOW how to capitalize on such insecurity (Making her think that she already has the best available? Making her know that you've got tons of other choices? If a 9 or 10 has any brains and has been called beautiful more than once, then she knows how to manipulate men. The only exception to this is a 9 or 10 with a good job, but then again, this kind of gal will have very high expectations of you and teaching English will not be one of them.

Now, my thinking might be a bit skewed, but money is religion here. It is the determining factor of a man's self worth. Beauties do not want a simple, common life. I am sure if you search (not online) you can probably find 9's and 10's without this mentality, but remember "Birds of a feather, flock together" and if you do find one and bring her into the big city, it won't take her long to figure out the game, once she starts making friends with other beauties.

Stick with the 6-8's and you will have much more success and a happier relationship, which is not based solely on the size of your bank account.

Most Chinese guys knows this very well and know how to protect themselves.

I'd think that it's only a matter of your 'western' idea of love, romance and romantic relationship that makes you think a less attractive Chinese girl would be more loyal/less money grubbing. In the West, the more attractive gals are prone to demanding "better situation" than their lesser sisters - but in China, they ALL (or at least most) are in on the game. After all, they all know that they have their youth - and marrying age window - only once. Got nuthin' to do with if they're good looking or not.

Also, please note that there is actually NOT a surfeit of "good Male Candidates" in China - too damn many poor guys there!! And once a gal's latched on to you - (who she must have already deemed to be a good enough catch) she's gonna be less likely than her Western counterpart to dump you - as like I said, its not everyday that she's gonna be able to find another/replacement suitable candidate. They're THAT practical!!

Alright, so previously, last week I asked for explanation of the asian girl / white guy phenomenon. This week's question: Anyone who can post their experience *dating* non-WGs? Are they generally good/faithful girls? I've been talking on MSN/phone with what I would call a perfect 10, she blows every girl I've dated back home out of the water. Not interested in RodneyReject's 20-girlfriend fantasy, this girl looks like a keeper (she says she will not come to America with me when I have to leave, she wants me to consider staying in China, is she using reverse psychology? ). So far she has found two schools that have called me and set up phone interviews, looked at apartments for me, etc. Are they all like this?

Hey all you guys!

As an introduction, I am an older guy from USA who has been coming to China for work on and off for the last 3 years. I spend a lot of time in Shanghai and have also had the good fortune to go to Beijing, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. I am generally on a tight budget so tend to go for the BBS girls but not always. Like most of you, I have had some great experiences, some mediocre ones and some big disappointments. That’s life in this game.

I have to thank all you senior members for your great posts and information. As you all say, there is a world of information when we simply RTFF.
