My Japanese consort reminds me that Tankuki is a misspelled Tanuki. In Japan, a Tanuki is a racoon-like dog. According to Japanese belief, the tanuki is the god of gluttony, boozing, and restauranteurs. The tanuki has big balls, pays with fake money and promissory notes he does not intend to honor. No relation to Tankuki, of course.
I questioned management when the refurb will be finished, but received no more than a non-committal "soon." I reminded them that they had said it would be finished after CNY. The answer was, it will be finished after CNY, however, the exact date remains unclear.

Posts: 80The Curse of the NPC
It's National People's Congress time again in Beijing. That bright, shining light of democracy, which runs every year from 5 to 15 March, puts a damper on our hobby.
I imagine places like Maggies would still be fine (I don't go there much these days), but saunas and BBS are being careful.
I went to the sauna in Zuojiazhuang Xijie (Huanxisha:?) on Friday night. I'd only got as far as the locker area when one of the guys came up to me and said, "sorry, no action right now; the most you can have is a foot massage. " I asked why, and he said, not entirely to my surprise, that it was because of the NPC meetings. "Come back after 15 March, " was his advice.
I thought maybe Huanxisha, being well lit up and on a crossroads, might be more cautious than other, less visible places, so I cabbed it to the Regency, tucked away as it is on the side street off Maizidian. But when I went down to the counter, the friendly papasan chappie said, "sorry, it's NPC time. " He did say, though, that the afternoon was OK, but from 7pm onwards they only provided genuine massages. "It's a sensitive time, " he said.
So there you are. Not a surprise, but annoying nonetheless. It's the price we pay for living in the capital.

Been to the convent of St. Margaret on Friday for the first time after CNY. Ran into King Sammy who was with a vassal in a Piglet outfit.
Architectural section: The refurb still is not completely finished. Entrance is still in the back. However, part of the front has been opened. Whereas the previous version could be surveyed with one sweeping look, now you have to wander around in a labyrinth of lust.
Female section: Post-CNY has been good to the convent. Pre-CNY, the selection trended towards bottom and top heavy. Now, quality of nuns has vastly improved, with loads of pretty novices fresh off the train or plane from UB.
Net-net: The convent is back on the road to its old glory. Management confirms this observation. Before, they were complaining that the good old days are over, and that the convent is overrun by cheap window shoppers who clutch one Tsingtao all night and leave. Now, management is all grins.

Posts: 681Quingniangou Lu Follow on and thank you Andreas
As the promising reports made me curious and I had to proof the point that FS for 200 RMB is even for a sucker like me possible I visited the area once on my own and also teamed up with the King of BBS (this time without his bike) and we explored half of Beijing' s most important sights in one long evening.
In general you must know where the action is and you better speak some Mandarin and know the rules or you easily may end up in an overpaying disaster or a frustrating cannot find anything. You know your way around and have the invaluable help of the king you may get rewarded. This evening like Sammy has reported there is some congress in town so the central action is very limited. So I do not report on these, anyway it is all Andreas who deserves the credits, he knows everything, so ask him, buy him a nice dinner or just have the fun of windowshopping BBS style!
Currrently the most promising area in terms of shop density and girls available is clearly the reported Quingniangou Lu. Purely Chinese living quarter with some business hotels and our business plain in the open. However there is a lot of uniforms and I advise not to hang around too obvious for a too long time and/or create trouble. Not an area for newbies in my opinion.
We looked at maybe 10 shops and negotiated prices or just made a close up inspection of available SPs. You must look a bit and be able to negotiate and be a little patient. Some shops close while they have customers, some always look their doors. Just walk the street up and down until you see something you like, negotiate the price, enjoy and leave through the backdoor.
I ended up with a nice, professional lady recommended by the king after my initial choice decided during but before full business that laowei are not her thing and we parted in friendship, no pay asked. Damn what a cute spinner, but if they are afraid for whatever reason, pushing makes no sense.
I had been there a few days before but the sweet Shenzhen girl was also not available that night. So you need to compromise.
In general this is currently by far the best BBS area in Beijing I have found or been shown in this case but I would still advise to be careful or at least get the initiation by a senior member if you are a newbie. BBS are not for everyone, it is fast food, it is dangerous to some degree and a good place like the described can very fast be destroyed by in Chinese eyes inappropriate behaviour.
Price is 200 RMB for FS and (B or C) BJ but you need to firmly negotiate. Not all shops offer FS by the way so ask before you throw away your clothes in the heat of excitement.
A big thanks to Andreas again

1. Wangfujing Grand Hotel: has the thoroughly Chinese-style SUNSHINE CLUB. A variety show on stage with singing, music, magic, kung-fu monks, etc. And model shows where you can choose your girl. (the hostess will also just bring over a bunch of girls as there are some not in the model shows.) As the fresh and innocent young hostess at the club matter-of-factly told us while seating us, "You can choose your girl by the number on her gown and she will sit and drink with you for RMB600; if you want to take her home, it's RMB2000. Seating on two-person couches. Girls range from so-so to good. Watch out for extra mamasan tips. Ask ahead for prices
2. Sheraton Great Wall Hotel: has the nightclub PASSIONS (actually it may have changed names now.). Chat with girl for RMB500+ tip; take-away is RMB2, 000 and up. Usually model quality girls.

Posts: 29I wrote this on the Beijing hotels page but am hoping I get some more info from here.
I've read Sammys guide (THANK YOU!!!!) and have a question which ive not been able to get from the old posts
1. "Are there any 4 or 5 star hotels that have a club within the premesis? The Holiday Inn at Lido is really far, Im hoping for something near the world trade center?
2. I know the "massages" within the 4 star hotels offer really expensive hj's but wat abt full sex within these 4 star hotels from the same girls?
Most of the places recommended is when the girl has to be brought back to the room from outside (Maggies, Hollywood etc etc) If there is an club within the hotel it would be perfect for me.
Any suggestions?

Posts: 29I posted this in the Beijing hotel forum as well but thought maybe I'll get some more response here.
I went through Sammys guide (thank you!) and also gone through the forums.
I'm looking for a club or a sauna within a hotel. So far the only place that I can see is the Holiday Inn Lido (the pig) but the location is really bad. The hotel is near the airport.
I was hoping that perhaps there are some other hotels that have such clubs as well? Any recommendations?
If not, any suggestions on the hotel that definetly offers FS from the in-house massage girls or does that depend on how well the "chemistry between you and the girl is?

Guys -
It you are currently in Beijing you may have noticed an increase in visibility of law enforcement. This is due the the opening yesterday (Wednesday) of the annual Chinese People`s Political Consultative Conference. I stoped by the Pig on Tuesday night and it was dead. Lot's of guys, but only 4 girls. We also went to Hollywood (now located in Absent), and finally Maggie's. Hollywood had may 20 girls, and Maggie's we crowded.

Posts: 21Info on the Crowne Plaza Hotel Sun Palace??
I have learned a lot about mongering in many countries in Asia after I started to RTFF.
I am now off on my first trip to Beijing, and hoping for some guidance.
I will be staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel
Sun Palace, which I understand in near 3rd Ring road.
Anyone know if there are any good mongering opportunities in the area, or if there is any action at the Tea Tree Spa at the hotel?
Thanks

"Dan Jones" now seems to be using Google translate for his or her reports.
However, the Angels etc. shills get an A+ for perseverance. We can slam them as much as we want, they never surrender. Nonetheless: Avoid.

Not necessarily in that order, and the list is subject to the changes that occur as inebriation ensues...
So far I have one potential runner with me. Anyone care to join?
