Regarding lineup saunas, I'll echo Haidian: been in BJ over 5 years and never seen or heard about these existing here. I went to a couple in Shanghai many years ago, and it was an unforgettable time (much better than anything I've had in BJ) but last time I checked those boards it seemed they don't exist there anymore either.

You can check my post history, I've written about those shops a few times. Most of my experiences would count as average to forgettable, but once in a while, it's just fantastic. The price point and promise of those fantastic times was enough to get me to keep going back. I haven't been there in quite some time though, so if you check it out, definitely update all of us.

Now I have not found anything about that in this thread. Only reviews about massage parlors. But that is not the same or am I mistaken? Same as DopeMopey but over five years. They have to be more circumspect due to several waves of crackdowns. Even when I first arrived, I never encountered a place with a lineup, but if a girl had told you her number, and she was on the on-call board you could ask for her. And while extras were not explicitly on the menu anymore at Spas, they were understood to be included in any service above 400 RMB, on an escalating scale. Everything was more expensive than an in-call escort, of course. Then two or three years ago, those places were replaced by another set of placed that took things down another notch.

So you do have to work out how old a description of the state of play is. A review two years old might be optimistic for current conditions even after things fully open up again. Something eight years old might as well be from a different country.

If you exit the station from exit A you will see a residential community but there are lots of shops / rental offices / businesses / food vendors etc, on the outside of the community. You can walk all the way around and you will see clearly a couple of the shops where it's got a few or a single lady waiting for people. There are some massage places, some very legit, a few not so if you know what I mean. There are a few hidden, that's because you have to walk into the building, for example there is one where you walk in and it's an open space and if you follow the passage (its about 2 meters long) it leads you to a photographer / copy / printer guy. But as soon as you walk in before that shop you have a door on the right which is a rental agency / real estate I think, and on the left is a bunch of ladies. Most are located on the ground floor, but you will see there are steps that go up to a second floor teir and there are sometimes a few up there. There is also a sex shop made of vending machines so you can stock up on gear. There are a few massage places the legit ones are obvious, the other ones take you downstairs below ground, they offer extras.

I went to a shop just as it was closing and the mamasan was getting ready to leave, but I begged her to stay and give me a massage. She finally relented. It was pretty hot. Afterwards, she said it was on the house, but I still tipped her. Given that I didn't have to pay for the massage, it was doubly satisfactory. Anyway, I know my report isn't useful. Sorry. My situation was similar. Although it wasn't on the house, they had advertised a discount and I think I owed 675 rmb. But since had done me the favor, was awesome about it, and I'm hoping for a repeat, I just gave her 1000.

I don't think sauna exists anymore, that's what I read. I've been in Beijing over 2 years and couldn't find any. There were clues of it but you need intermediaries to help you access whatever it was, and it was very expensive to even try. I suspect these places could still exist but it's only accessible to locals and rich clients with the right contact. If there is a language barrier then you will struggle.

To be clear, Wonderful Massage is better at any price point above a veggie massage.

This is now a moot point for the time being, as Wonderful Massage is now closed "until the infectious disease has passed".

They also have a Y1000+ service, and I am only assuming, but I would lay good money on them not being as nice as the Wonderful Massage services at that price point.

To be clear, Wonderful Massage is better at any price point above a veggie massage. Massage itself as good or better, the extras decidedly better and the technician much prettier. But if you are on the northwest side of town, Wonderful Massage is a longer trip to get to.

They DO do a temperature check on arrival, as does the "nicer" massage place closer to the convenient center. The nicer massage place offers a better actual massage from older technicians, but even manual relief would be an extra off the menu that would have to be negotiated at the flip, so if Y400 for the oil message and maybe Y200 extra tip direct to the masseuse, it's the same total cost as the seedier place, and if management was cracking down, you might be disappointed to find that the extra service is not offered on that day.

The seedier of the massage spas on the buildings with two story commercial spaces on the south of Datun Road (immediately west of Beichen West Road, starting one block west of the westernmost Line 15 Olympic Park station) is also closed. The signs says until Jan30, but it looks like it's just nobody came back to change the sign to say it would be longer, because of the restrictions on movement.

They now seem to be open. They are the one farthest from the Olympic Park complex in the buildings on the south side of Datun Road across from the National Zoological Museum. They have taken advantage of the emergency to boost their former top tier Y500 service to Y600 supposedly 90 minute "spa" service (but it's spa in the sense that you can shower before and after if you like), and as a Y700 supposedly 70 minute erotic massage. They also have a Y1000+ service, and I am only assuming, but I would lay good money on them not being as nice as the Wonderful Massage services at that price point.

No oral relief or full service on the menu, though as always with the seedier massage spas, if you develop a friendly relationship with a technician there's no telling exactly what might be available off of the menu. Technicians seem to be in their late 30's or 40's, but younger than the ones in the nicer massage place where anything extra is off the menu.
