Hi everyone,

I'm recently arrived in Beijing from the UK, and discovered the site about a week ago. Very impressed with the reports and general attitude! As I'm here for a while, thought I'd start the ball rolling with a report on the local sauna from a complete newbie's perspective.

Anyway. Quick lowdown. Me = 30ish, Brit Chinese, speak sod all Mandarin, currently sharing a flat so impossible to get take out. Hence I thought I'd explore the local area, this was before I discovered this forum, so was kind of going in blind!

Sauna I went to is listed as Liufangyuan Finnish Sauna on my Mapking GPS map (high-tech toys), and it's near Liufang Subway station, on the corner of Liufang Jie and Zuojiazhuang Xijie. Couldn't read the Chinese name, but it's a fairly shiny looking place.

Went in, confused the hell out of the door staff by looking Chinese but speaking my terribly accented mandarin, and figure out that using the actual spa/sauna bit costs 48Y. Body scrub is 38Y, so I figure I'll try that. Still uncertain at this point if anything 'additional' was on offer.

Go in, undress (no bloke helping, good in my eyes! ), and stood around uncertainly for a second. Get handed a tiny towel for washing myself with, and wander into the shower section. As other threads have mentioned, there is a lot of walking around in the buff in these places, might be a shock! Sauna, come out, am directed to a massage table where an attendant scrubs me. He tried to sell me some kind of extra treatment package, but I asked the price and he was upfront about it, to be fair, so I said no, showered, headed back to the changing room.

At this point, I didn't know how to ask for pyjamas, but stood around and got handed some after a short while. Dried off and dressed, then headed back out, where there was a staircase with 'mood' pink lighting that looked plush, so went that way ushered by an attendant (asked if I wanted 'massaji'). Led upstairs and into a room, asked for a green tea (8Y), as I was worried about being scammed for drinks, and he sets off to fetch a girl.

Anyhow, I didn't seem to have a choice about the girl, but she shows up, and via sign language and talking slowly, establish the price is 598Y for oral, and 898Y for FS. Ask for the 598, she heads off, comes back, and things proceed rather nervously at first. On my part, despite me having done P4P before back home. I don't like writing all the gory details, but she's fairly keen, if a little passive. Is this usual here?. And to break it down, I'd say she's about a 6 facially (I'm picky! ), body 7. Small B cup, nice round but firm ass, and overall I'd say about a 6. 5 (Her number. 005). She got very wet though, and seemed extremely keen on meeting up outside of the sauna sometime, asking if I could receive SMS in Chinese. I wasn't all that keen though, so I made some (hopefully! ) polite ambivalent replies

Long story short. Total damage 692Y. For a reasonable experience. Might have been better, but I was nervous about being scammed / arrested / beaten up by thugs, which put me rather on edge! Should I have bargained at any point? All the prices seemed very up-front and settled, or is that just what they want you to think?

In any case, hope that's useful to anyone looking around in the Liufang area. I'd be up for seeing some of the apparent hotspots sometime, but guess I should wait for next week! However, need to find some way around the no-takeout problem. Any thoughts?

I think there needs to be some sort of Beijing mongering convention.... Start with dinner at a duck restaurant around 6:30 (yes I agree that Dadong is the best duck restaurant in Beijing and lets face it, a most appropriate name for a monger's convention to be held! Followed by KTV til around 11pm to midnight, then Maggies, Hollywood and/or Pig til the early hours and then a sauna to top it off. This way you get to see and compare for yourself. I'd be curious to see how many mongers would stay the course til the end.

Sammy_T the King organized a similar convention / party in August, and that was hell a lot of fun! Perhaps Sammy_T the King could do another round of convention / party after the 17th congress meeting thing. I would love to meet more local bros such as Wujohn, One Wing Low, Meiguoguizi, etc.

My wife is back in town now so I could only join the dinner / drinking part, but perhaps you bros can teach me a few tricks so I can still do mongering while my wife is in town!
