Amazingly your report is very similar to all the other ads for Kitty's. If the best session in Beijing that you are getting is from Kitty then you must be having terrible luck. I suggest you try making some different choices. Kitty services remain the same for the last 5 years.

Over the last years I became a regular to The Den, I even deliberately moved house to SLT to be close. Now, the sad thing is the only remaining place is M. And it is not at all anymore what it used to be some 10 years ago.

Yes Zhuran was definitely in the mix then. He had an Asian wife (Japanese I think) that liked Mongolian girls as much as we did. Not sure what happened to him but he was worth running with. We had some great nights. Yes sad that a watered down Maggies is all that's left. Maybe something new and good will appear in Beijing. I always stayed at the Lido because of the Pig and that is where I met Sammy first.

Damn, that's not good. I went there ocassionally and as you state, enjoyed the ale and the pie and chips. There one guy that was always there, short European guy, smoker, would drink his Budweiser, had a older chinese GF, he would sit with his mates, she would be playing on her phone, they never seemed to talk, but always left together. Good place, could always find a few African ladies at 2 am there.

Pig and thistle in the holiday inn lido.

Located outside off the 4th ring road, north east of the city along the way to the airport. Tell the taxi driver "li du fan dian" and he will know where to take you. For those historians on the board the pig and thistle was once called the pig and whistle, but they were forced to change their name a few years ago because there is some other bar in China with the name pig and thistle that has registered it as a trademark in China. It is easiest to simply refer to it as "the pig". The pig has a decent 2 for 1 "happy hour" from 5 to 8. You pay hotel bar prices for your drinks, but when they are 2 for 1 it is not so bad. Some chinese working girls will start to show up as early as 6, and the mongolian and russian girls are usually in force by 10. If the chinese girls are not in the pig they can often be found sitting at either the starbuck's or baskin robins in the lido complex around the corner. All of the chinese girls at the pig are "regulars", there night after night. They are all very friendly and will be more than happy to act as a tour guide for you during the day. I have arraigned this for friends on several occasions and they have always been pleased. The pig closes at 2 am, and last call is 1 am. Typically the girls will gauge the crowd and start to leave for either the hard rock or maggie's around midnight. If you don't know what you are doing, just sit down at the bar and strike up a conversation with another guy. There is an ATM in the lido complex that accepts international debit and credit cards. Since the pig is located in a major international hotel chain it will accept credit cards for payment. The pig is an oasis in the middle of hostile territory. The lido is still a haven for much of the expat population in Beijing, so there is always a chance you will run into the wife of one of your expat partners. If it is early simply tell the girl to follow you at a safe distance, and to keep walking should you stop to chat with someone.

Hollywood (now located in the old absent night club location).

The old hollywood next to the ritan hotel has been torn down, but don't despair! The entire cast of characters from the bouncers to the bartenders have moved to the old absent location. There is a 50 rmb cover charge to enter. Hollywood has the highest population of russian girls in Beijing, as well as some mongolian and chinese girls. Unlike other bars, the girls in hollywood all sit at tables waiting for the guys to approach them. They also have a nightly floor show, which I believe starts at 10 pm, and is repeated at midnight. They will not let you run a tab, so you must pay for your drinks as you go. They will tell you they do not accept credit cards, but this is only because they do not want to run the card for small purchases. If you buy a bottle of something and some mixers, or wish to pre-pay for several drinks, they will take a credit card.

Hard rock café (hrc).

Located right next to the great wall sheraton hotel. You standard hard rock café you will find in many big cities around the world, except working girls start to show up around 11:00 pm. You have to pay a 100 rmb cover charge to get in every night except Wednesday. The cover includes your first drink. They usually have a pilipino band playing that is not too bad. To get a good view hang around the stair case behind the bar. I would venture to say that 99% of the single girls there are working, and they can all speak some english. The hard rock is a tourist trap, so there are some non-working girls, but it is easy to distinguish the pros from the straight girls. You will find chinese, mongolian, and some russian girls at the hard rock. Talk, flirt, enjoy the view and the music. If you find a girl you like she will be happy to go with you. The girls have to pay a cover to get in every night, plus they must pay security monthly or they will be turned away at the door, so expect t.

Civilisation as I know it in Beijing comes to an abrupt halt today when BJs best known / longest established expat bat The Den closes it's doors permanently after 18 long glorious years.

Apparently the building is owned by Govt and whist mgmt. Had been negotiating lease extensions for some months on Thursday night Dec 10 they were officially told midnight on Sunday Dec 13 was the-day. Close the doors and remove all fixtures fittings within 48 hrs.

Many ISGers will remember fondly the 100's of debaucherous drunken nights we had here. Remember the good old days when you ate downstairs then wondered upstairs when the disco started to select your hoare for the night? What an institution. How many countless nights did we sit downstairs eating a meal. Half price beer and pizza. And planning the attack from there. OK guys. Lets go to The Pig first. Or Hollywood first. Then Chocolate then Maggies.

OMG what memories. Yes it has not been what it used to be lately. But let's face it what has in Beijing?

Staff are just devastated. They are just a beautiful bunch of kids working there. Final wake this evening with 'The Party' timed for 5 to 9 pm. It's going to be a long night!

I find your report a little sus as well, Kitty's is certainly not the best provider in BJ in my humble opinion, interested to see your reply to Canada's question.

As I have stated before, and this information comes from a reliable source, all the girls working from agencies come from the same pool, the providers are just agents (sub contractors) so the service, price etc. Will be the same. You can find FS at Xi Hua business hotel near the west gate of the Peking University. Can't quite recall but I think I was propositioned at around 1000 or even 1,500, quite possibly the latter.
