Posts: 1Tianya Friday afternoon visit. April 2019.
(My first post here apologies for any rookie mistake).
Reading about uncommon places like dancing halls, curious to know more about Chinese habits and looking for freebies I head toward Tanya on an early Friday afternoon.
Entrance is not difficult to locate (refer to other posts for exact address. On Google is: Block A, Jingang Shopping Mall)): either follow the trail of nicely dressed girls or enter a small alley passing a level barrier with a security guard (no questions asked). Look for some motorcycle taxis and enter the building to reach the first floor. 10 RMB entrance cash only. No wechat).
I did no have cash with me so I ask the security to exchange me with my wechat digital payment: he led me inside, passing a metal detector (OK, I am in. Dark light room no strobo. Chinese slow music playing. Friday afternoon at 15:00 and is packed. In the dancing area probably around 40 couples dancing slow; around 250 persons in the room; no shady actions, hands on waist at most, no kissing, some elegant Chinese slow dance. Odd couples (M 60, F 20) but smiles and enjoyment. Around the dancing areas a long lines of girls next to each other: any type, from the student in jeans and sneakers to skimpy dressed cougars. Along the whole room a double row of chairs and tables. With couples sitting (no action again, just holding hands and some cuddling) or single men.
All the sudden I realize I am literally the only foreigner. I walk around looking at the girls and I got a lot of smiles but no direct approaches (I am more than decent looking, sharp dressed).
I sit to try to understand the mechanics. Men are approaching girls (Never other way round) and invite to dance. After 2 or 3 dances either is Goodbye or they sit together, they talk. No money exchange, no contacts exchange. I have not seen in 2 hours a couple leaving together. Then I realize there is another room after, well lit. I enter the room: coffee tables, TVs on, and few stalls. Again no action. No toilets (you find them near the entrance). In the whole premises no alcohol served: tea and water. So I decide to approach a young girl, jeans and t shirt, good looking (a Chinese 7) with graceful face and thin figure. We dance: intimate and close, there is chemistry. She leans on my shoulder and stroke my hair. After the dance she asks me to sit in the second room where we can talk a bit more. She explains me this is a place for dancing: people are coming here to practice dancing. There might be working girls but is kind of the exception. Chinese men are shy and that is their way to get close to women when they are not drunk. My guest seems to be genuinely interested about me and asks me to have a coffee sometime and ask my contacts: I am in Chengdu for few days on business and she seems kind and genuine so I do not want to break any heart. I tell her and she insists to exchange contacts for when she will be in Shanghai (where I live) since her brother lives there. I tell her I am going to leave the place (I am busy) and she asks if it is OK to leave together. We leave and waiting for 2 taxis she kisses me. In a nutshell: I do not see Tanya as a place for picking up working girls; there might be but I have missed them. No actions inside I am rather sure (unless at night is different). Is an interesting view on Chinese culture and a nice place to dance and maybe meet some freebies.
Hope it helps.
NB She is coming to Shanghai soon.

Went there yesterday after 2 years on April 30th. I was not sure if the place was open. It was open and packers at 3:30 pm. Gave 10 bucks for entry. Many nice young girls. I had at dance with at least 6 girls. Lost count. Some as much as 5 songs. Some were very cute. I don't speak Chinese and that is issue as can't have conversation but it was still no issue grinding at these girls.
They have increase the lighting at this place. There is no dark spot anymore which is bummer. Still groping is allowed. I was able to squeeze boobs with no issue. No French kids though. I think sand dancing is unique thing Changdu has to offer. Not seen anything like it.
Samwise.

Posts: 66End of the world and jinka sand dancing.
Can anyone in forum please confirm if these sand dancing places still open and their timings. Last time I visited end of the world and it was super fun. I think it's one of the unique offering in Chengdu. Somehow it closed at 5 pm or something. I wish it's open in night as well. Any new sandbar places which opened last year? Appreciate someone giving info on this please!

I truly miss the Dongbei saunas, where 400 kuai got you an insane run, and 200 kuai for the pink shops, only 10% of which would deny foreigners.
Such is life. I'll start hunting.

The 1000 Rmb might be correct. I also noticed that the girls at the Shangri-la ask for more than what you normally would pay. This means that you must negotiate. In a similar situation, I easily brought them down to 6-700 Rmb.
I met once a girl (quite pretty and not old). She showed me her naked pictures on the mobile phone and then asked for 5'000 Rmb for the whole night. Of course, I politely declined. Later on, she called me and offered the same for 1000 Rmb. But it was then too late, and that's why I didn't negotiate further. She might have accepted even lower than the 1000. Chinese girls are used to negotiation. Hence, whether or not you negotiate does not necessarily impact the service.
It also appears that many of the girls at the Shangri-la have already passed their expiry date or are otherwise not pretty. Hence, you need to be selective.
Wonderer. Wish you good luck!

Finally poking my head around in Chengdu.
There's a "pink shop" style thing you guys have spoken about next to a Tibetan butter coffee shop called "LAM". Seemed like 2 women when I passed by, both cute. I went back the other night and asked "200? And I guess they won't accept foreigners. Bummer.
Saw an open hair salon with one guy sitting in a dark room, so I started talking to him. Got his wechat and he told me there's a lot of PT girls around. Still don't have price, but he has a few in his phone.
I'll poke around the vaguely-location'd spas and pink shops mentioned and see what I can drum up.
If anyone wants to PM me better details on how to get to these types of places, I can write reports.
Best,
Ts.

Hey guys!
Is Jinka still open?
I've saw on certain Chinese forum that they close jinka and tianya, is that true?
