South China - Guangzhou

Just had the nicest experience in the city. As a long term resident, I feel a bit ashamed for me and for us all, nobody ever found the place I stumbled upon tonight, or so it seems, since it's absent from anyone's reports.

A few days ago I went to a sauna that had 300rmb 2pops, but it was closed, no explaination given by anyone there, but it was quite an old hotel and sauna, so fuck it. Alas, little brother was still in need of a fix. Today then. The internetz helped. Google reminded me of an old acquaintance, gzsangna. Com, where I found a post that reviewed 2 saunas, one in haizhu district and one in fangcun. The fangcun one is the place I'm talking about, and I went there for the promise of a "VIP room": the name made me think of a room with shower, something I have never seen here in Guangzhou.

Well. The shower was there. Small but nice room, apparently clean, private sauna too.

The deal? 468rmb. 2 pops (not 1 pop + HJ but 2 real pops in the Y) .100 minutes available, free drinks and free food. No hidden charges, except the 10rmb shorts (they have free ones too) and the tip to the guys in the locker rooms.

I met a nice 23 year old girl (fake tits, but nice butt and face) , enthusiastic attitude and nice service. No CIM though, and she said no one does that there (to be verified). We chatted for about 1 hour, she grew up in an orphanage and moved to the city about one year ago, poor girl, I felt like shit. Anyway, the weirdest thing is SHE CAN'T READ O_o. I have never met a completely illiterate Chinese, but she said that in the orphanage they did not have any school :/

Anyhow, after the very good deal, I slacked a bit in the common room sipping drinks and dining with a decent serving of noodles. Right there I also discovered that if I booked in advance I could have saved 30 rmb.

Chatting with one of the "managers", I asked here how came that they stayed open while so many places were closing down, and she replied that the owner has good relationships with the local government and the police. Meaning: he knows who to pay to stay in business :P.

So, the damage was 468+10 (shorts) +15 (tip) for 2 pops. Drinks, food.

For reference. Fare by taxi from area around Garden Hotel is about 45 rmb.

Any good suggestions near President Hotel (Gangding) area? I'm looking more for a massage type thing that goes right to FS business. I don't mind paying a bit more but nothing too crazy. It's more for a relaxation thing after walking the whole day at the fairs and trade shows. Any particular place that is overseas Chinese friendly? I'm similar to Ducati168 but Canadian. Can speak but not local. I know back home Asian girls don't prefer Asian clients due to the small community.

I don't taking the MTR either as long as it's close. Nothing that requires too many stops or line changes.

I went to this Recreational Hotel to overnight before I leave for Macau tomorrow. So I ask for the 90 min Thai massage. Technician was way too cute and wore a skirt of sorts. Been following the posts here. Looks like I'm going to Guangzhou@the wrong time tonight due to the Canton Fair happening! I'm an ABC (American Born Chinese) , and speak Mandarin. So I could pass for a fairly young local guy. Staying@the Garden Hotel, and looking for easy FS in a massage parlor / sauna, as I don't want to bring any WG's back to hotel. Also don't want to play any "games" at the local bars / clubs. Rather get down to business! I don't mind paying for better quality.

So looks like the top choice is the sauna@the Ocean Hotel? Or the Deyi Sauna? Any other recommendations would be much appreciated, and I'd love to reciprocate suggestions if anyone ever finds their way to NYC! Thanks!

Massage with full service is always available in bai yun hotel. On the cheaper side I found atleast 5 bbs / massagae centres with HJ around garden hotel area at 150 rmb. One near kfc, one at lui lu and atleast three in the back side lane near the golden kitchen restourant. Tried two of them and got quite good service at the one near kfc. 80 rmb to the counter and 70 to the gal. Contact available through pm. Cheers
