Manzhouli is the first city the transsiberian train reaches on Chinese territory on the direct line to Vladivostok. I stayed at the hotel Ibis recently. I am not sure if Yantai qualifies as North China, but it is close enough for me. I have made two visits recently and was able to find something acceptable in the Spa category. If you stay in the Sinoway (Hua Rong) hotel they have a 24 hr massage which does outcall and room service. Ask for special service as the regular masseues do not provide full service. They actually provide excellent massages. Have never tried the special service as I know one of the ladies in the massage parlour personally and it is too awkward to get into things with her.

Also, as you exit the Sinoway hang a right and about two blocks down there is a MP there. They provide full service but tend to be very mechanical. No GFE of any kind.

But remember don't overpay as that just raises the prices for us all. Both places will negotiate.

Not sure I would recommend the Sinoway as a great place to stay as it is "very Chinese" but at least the "service" is good. In terms of hotels the New Paris (Xin Ba Li) is comfortable but only did 12 hours there and didn't try the MP. My friendly masseuse spent the night with me so didn't need to outsource!

I had massage place here with a door and it was closed, but even with trying she made no intension to give extra service. Maybe have to go again as a returning customer.

Just ask a taxi driver for "xiaojie" or "tefu." Yes, sometimes the taxi drivers are on the take (get a little commission for bringing customers) , but sometimes not. Just remember that if the place he takes you to, whether it's a bathhouse, BBS or foot massage place, quotes outrageous prices (I would say more than 4-500 kuai in that part of the country) you can always walk out. Sometimes you'll get an honest taxi driver who will take you to a BBS area where the locals go. I've heard of this happening.

Spend one week now and wasn't able to find any action. In my first hotel the MP was closed for repairs, so checked out after a few days because around the hotel it was also quite dead.

It can't be that this place is such dead, there must be something going on here. Anybody has some information?

But usually I don't like the whole spa thing, it takes to much time to get the whole thing done with all the pre-showering and waiting room and everything. I like something to go in and get the girl or better just call by phone and someone show up at my room.

Just spent two days and nights in Qinhuangdao. First, if you go there from Beijing by train, note that the main station is under construction and not available. There is an alternate and it is tiny and rough, but you can still get to Qinhuangdao.

Anyway, stayed at Qinhuangdao Grand. There is a sauna there and I was going to try it out but elected to go scout about the neighborhood. It was seemingly quiet but within a few blocks I found a massage establishment. Very typical. Girls rate 5-7. You actually get a good massage for 90, and FS ran total of +110, so damage was only 200. Good value but not like a good Shanghai joint. Very straightforward.

That night, back at the hotel, my floor was crawling with police. Must have been a murder, I thought. The next morning however, I noticed about 50 police and a bunch of mid level military officers all having breakfast. There must have been an LE convention! Good think I skipped the in house sauna!

The next night, I went in the opposite direction and again within a few blocks found two massage establishments. The larger of the two had an actual little steam room and hot tub and a kid to scrub you if you want. The gal I had was about 15 lbs too heavy BUT fortunately 10 of it was divided between an utterly fantastic rack. Probably the best I have ever had in this great land. Large, firm, succulent.
