In my last city, I had an encounter with a gal (maybe a quasi FL) that lived next door to me. The apartment building had several units on each floor and shortly after she moved in, I would notice guys hanging around the elevator or close to her apartment. I had seen her a few times but it was just in passing. Then one day I saw her in the hallway and she asked for my Wechat. Then after the add, she asked if I would like to spend some time with her. I asked how much and she said 5 k to help pay for her rent. LOL! I said absolutely not and she said, okay how about 300. So I accepted, showered, went to her place and had a good time. It ended up being a one time thing because she moved a few weeks after the encounter. Looking back, that was a crazy move but I was lucky to not have any problems from it! Probably wouldn't take that risk again but shit, 40 days of lockdown could make me change my mind.

That's a great story. I would have visited her every day, haha. About twenty years ago, a couple of hot escorts lived in my building. I sometimes kick myself for not taking advantage of that. They would look at me sometimes, and I would walk away scared, hahaha. But maybe I avoided a disaster, haha. BTW, it sounds like she just rented that room on your hallway, using the Chinese equivalent of AirBNB or some such. There are FL gals and indie gals that come to Shanghai for a couple of weeks, and they stay in rented rooms. They return to their hometowns afterwards, to return next month or whenever they want to make some fast cash.

Well, we have been locked down for over 40 days now. Anyone have any outside the box ideas for mongering? While I was walking around the compound, I noticed several women that seem single. Should I try to tap that, or too close to home? I was thinking about using WeChat's search nearby function too, to see if I can find something in my compound, but I have not used that function in a long time. There's actually someone in the building next to mine that gives off this vibe that she's a WG, but probably my wishful thinking, LOL.

I lived in China for several years followed that adage. There are some points against someone in your own compound these being that it would be difficult to chase someone else, difficult to bring an outsider in later on, a cooperative neighbour may become possessive, an angry husband or boyfriend may come on the scene, gossip will happen and the tale change and become exaggerated (walls have ears and eyes), I don't know about your neighbourhood but mine still had denunciation boxes on the walls, your employer or the local Party people may be contracted and lastly involvement of the law.

Just my thoughts, best to play away from home. Do you still get to go to the supermarket? Maybe some opportunity there especially if they have a more lax or non existent security where they live.

Hey man. As MW says long time. Yeah the ShAnghai scene seems totally busted. Thank god I don't depend on that. Can't recall where you live but most of us stateside guys are doing Seekibg Arrangements. Fuck ton of work and expensive because it's US pricing but totally worth it. I was wrong. I went around Shanghai today, this time in different districts from where I was before, and there are many pockets of Shanghai that are shut down, including MPs and SPAs. On some streets, everything is closed, including MPs, SPAs, businesses, stores, etc (except for convenience stores, like Family Mart).

Well not everything is closed. I passed a Thai Spa (which is for sure veggie) and it was open. I haven't been there before, but maybe I will give it a try soon.

I guess anything that entails a gathering are closed, but MPs are okay? I also walked around Shanghai all day today (the weather was great) and I noticed MPs and SPAs are open everywhere, including in Minhang, Changning, Hokou, and JingAn.

Yes, I was surprised about that as well yesterday, when I wandered around in the sunshine.

Somewhat counterintuitively, the situation with MPs being open, but yoga classes closed, may make sense from a statistical perspective. Omicron is so contagious that doing yoga next to somebody may be (almost) as risky as a massage. If that is the case, at least the 1-1 massage is not a super-spreading event, while a yoga class can infect dozens.

Sort of related, I have seen a new, somewhat mysterious phrase in the official case announcements the past few days: "xx tested positive when they were screened as high-risk groups". Does anybody know if massage service providers are being especially screened these days?

Thanks for sharing this. I looked at seeking in Shanghai a few times during the past few years, and it did not look encouraging, and your experience further confirms my hunch.

In Shanghai, a young pretty gal can make a lot of money if she knows how to tap the markets of foreigners and rich Chinese men. Even MP gals are now asking for outrageous fees to meet outside, and if you say no then they have no problem moving on from you.

Shanghai is one of the last places on the planet I would use seeking tbh. In other major cities you could at least do a calculated guess on the number of millionaire competitors you'll have, in Shanghai you multiply that number by at least 50. So unless you don't mind dropping a few thousand dollars on a girl, Shanghai would be a serious no go for most guys on here.

I'll give you two examples from my anecdotal experience. First is a girl I spoke to on there, 19, about to go to one of the foreign unis in China, wanted a $200 meet up without any actual sugar! Subsequent meet-ups with sugar would be for 2 hrs max for $700 because she had to "study". LOL no.

Second anecdote, a p4 p Eastern European girl I picked up from tinder, was happy with 3 k CNY overnight as she was doing this part time. As soon as she got on seeking she started receiving offers of 10 k overnight minimum. It's been ridiculous to the point of guys flying her around the country offering her x0,000 rmb for entire weekends (sometimes entire weeks), always housed in 5 star hotels paid for by them. Last time I was in touch with her in the summer, she was up well over 500 k rmb in the space of 3 months.

That was my cue to respectfully bow out of seeking in this part of the world. When I'm outside China I'll be sure to return to the app.

Hope you are all good and managing to find some fun in these adverse days.

Yesterday I received a call, and a local girl with a sweet voice told me about "men club services". My Chinese is alright, but I suggested to go on via wechat to better understand. She basically advertised two locations for what might be FS although she never mentioned it openly, and instead used the usual euphemisms. She shared pictures of girls, some of them looking quite nice, others still fine but too much on the side of what locals like; very retouched faces with augmented eye size and sharpened faces. But still a couple of them look quite young, natural, and with not obvious signs of image retouching. But yeah, who knows what could be found in place instead.

I'm curious to know if anyone has ever been approached via phone call. It was my first time. And I'm not sure if this is sign of an eventual trap or instead is business as usual.

Besides, on other topics, I'm still going regularly to my favorite MP (which many of you know, and I have talked about previously) and things seem fine as if nothing. 499 rmb for the usual massage HJ and no questions made, no tips necessary.
