I rarely post here, but I do read up on this forum once in a while. I was more active back when this site was called wsgforum.

I live in Shanghai now. The Police conduct a major crackdown every year before National Day, October 1. This crackdown is not just prostitution. The police are cracking down on businesses, coming in and inspecting a businesses liscense and visas of any foriegn employee (especially Filipino employees), checking out street vendors, and even cracking down on taxi drivers.

The point is that this is not a good time for mongering in Shanghai. I would wait until after the first week in October. Things will go hack to normal.

Was in Shanghai last week.

Went to both Manhattan and Judy's. I went on both weekend and weekdays.

Even though MH has more girls I found that girls in Judy's are way hotter.

Just my opinion. Why don't you guys check it out for yourself.

I personally don't think theres anything wrong with a few of the girls being booted from the bar. It isn't as if they are being physically or mentally abused by the bar. Theres nothing wrong with bar asking non-patrons to leave. Granted, the girls are a portion of what draws the customers in but asking a few floaters to leave is well within reason. It could be because of fire safety reasons just as someone previously mentioned or it could just be because management wants to for no other reasons. Judy's is right down the block, I'm sure the bar has that in mind so I'm sure they know what they are doing.

As for the bar asking the girls for a fee, I wouldn't say its an unjust request. Its probably more a matter of the amount they ask for. Bear in mind that the girls don't have commission for pushing drinks. Whereas the bars across from the Hilton is the opposite. From a different perspective, If I owned a bar and there were WG's using my place to find clientele without my establishment gaining anything aside from regular drink sales, I'd be a bit sour about it. Another possibility of asking the girls for a fee is the recent situation in shanghai and the bar having to give a bigger payoff to local LE for being able to stay open.

From a monger's standpoint, of course I'd rather stay in a place where I can pick and choose from the best of a lot instead of running between bars but thus the life of a horny bastid.

Actually both are from the same agency Fantasy. Massage. Shanghai. Not same person show up but cute enough. Minimal English, only CBJ. One thing I can confirm is the mistreatment of the girls. During my Manhanttan days (at least two years ago), I had personally seen them throwing girls out. This normally happened when the bar got too crowded, the manager with that short bob haircut would walk around with one of those laser type flashlight and flashed randomly at the girls. Bouncers or bartender types walking behind her would then send the selected girls out the door, sometimes yanking them roughly by the arm.

I spoke with a few of the WG's to find out it happened frequently on a nightly basis. Usually they picked out girls who did not have a drink in their hand or were not hanging out with any customers. There were times when a customer would speak up for a certain girl, this helped. To get around this, the WG's either had to befriend that manager, buy their own drinks, get the customers to buy them drinks, or keep an eye out for "Bobby". Whenever she made her rounds around the bar with a couple of guys behind her, move to the other side of the bar.

No mention of Manhattan asking for money from the girls, but this was at least two years ago. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they do it now.

I don't want to take the bar's side here, but one thing to keep in mind is that there are fire code regulations about the maximum number of people allowed in bars of a given size. You mention that girls were kicked out when the bar was too crowded. If there is a crackdown going on, overcrowding is an easy violation to use for LE to shut down a bar. I know that has been done elsewhere. If the bar is too full, it would not be too surprising if they kicked out the girls without drinks, etc, rather than making a random selection. I don't know if that is what is going on here, but it is a possible factor.

At this time, any sauna claiming they have reopened are operating in this manner. The saunas are NOT open. They call this Waimai, as in take out service. They rented several rooms or a whole floor in a local cheap hotel and operate out of there. Guys, this is dangerous. Even more risky than going to the saunas themselves.

Haomen, the biggest sauna on Quyang Lu tried this. Moved their operations down the road to a Hanting hotel, they got busted. Videos of this is on the internet. If you want to go this route, get the girls to come to your hotel.

Couldn't agree more. My favorite sauna has been trying to entice me to a hotel, where they say they now operste. It's too risky. Under normal circumstances, odds of getting busted is, what, 1/1000. Now maybe 1/20. I won't take the chance. But I'd have the girl come to me (with certain precautions).

Charging the girls is new, and seemed to start about the same time as the city-wide crackdown. That's why I said I really don't think it's right for the bar to leverage the current situation to make money off the ladies. The bar knows that there are fewer options available to the ladies to quickly find customers and try to make their minimum quota for the night.

I have personally had chats when some of them were kicked out, and when the entrance fee started. When they were kicked out some of the ladies would still try to wait outside and find help to get in (or sneak in). But if caught then they were again pushed out unless a customer stood up for them. When the fee's started, some of them didn't know what to do and would stand outside for a bit, before giving up and trying someplace else.

The hard part for the ladies is if all the good customers and larger crowd go to Manhattan, then of course that's where they want to be. I told them wherever the good girls go, we will eventually find out and follow. The hard part is getting the word out quick enough, so I agreed to post here.

Some of the ladies have already started to leave Shanghai due to the overall situation. I don't want to see them leave (especially my favs), but it could be safer for them anyway.

Not asking anyone to take my word for it, as Judy's' is just down the street. But, if you are so compelled and are able to spread the word on other sites (especially Chinese since I can't do Chinese), please do so.

So despite the situation, I added a lot of wechat / QQ contacts to see if I can get anything set up. Came across this person saything they are open, so off I went. It was so far, the opposite direction of the disney line and second last stop, so it took me like more than an HR on the subway. The location was like border line just a bit outside of SH so maybe that's why they dare to open.

However it wasn't what I expected, the location was a hotel in a pretty empty building instead of a sauna. I still managed to get my business done. When I was picking the girls, a lot refused me. Later on when I talked to the girl I was with, and learned that police came by earlier, that was why some of the ladies refused to do business. Though the lady said the pimp indicated that the police was searching for drug addict instead, anyway I felt creepy hearing this so I finished my session quick and hopped onto a private cab and make my way back to the hotel.

I had another legit contact of a sauna where my friends were customers, I contacted them and learned that they can offer service if I go to their designated hotel and tell them the girl I want and they'll send it. I didn't go with this because I wanted to be able to pick girls right on the spot. FYI.

Can anyone else confirm this? This would make no sense. A good part (if not all) of Manhattan draw is the girls. With JUdy's 2 blocks away, it would be obvious for the girls to go down the street.

I'm passing on some information from some of the Manhattan ladies because I want to support them, and update the forum on where a large group of the girls are going to be.

I was asked by a large group of ladies from Manhattan to let the forum know that they are moving to Judy's. They are complaining about how Manhattan has been mistreating them (randomly kick out girls; use force on them; make them stand in the rain) and recently started demanding the girls pay 500 - 1000 rmb every night or they don't let them in the bar.

They could deal with the mistreatment, because they were able to make money, but they cannot accept the bar also trying to scam them for money (the girls do not get any money from customers buying drinks, obviously). They're afraid if they do pay, the bar will continue to make them pay and keep asking for more money.

Personally, I think it's wrong for Manhattan to take advantage of the girls during this scary time, and I don't want to have to pay more or want the girls to make less than they're worth.

Take it FWIW, but my regulars are all now at Judy's. I believe them and doesn't hurt to check out the scene at Judy's to confirm the move. If you're a senior member and want some connects, PM me.

I prefer the layout of Judy's and its vibe. However, always thought that there is a clear difference between the top tier ladies at Manhattan vs. Judy's in terms of looks. If this evens out, Judy's is actually preferable as the male crowd and servers at Manhattan are more annoying.

Places are close enough such that maybe I'll suck it up and just go between both bars whenever I'm there. Thanks for the intel!
