If she were only in Shanghai just for you, then paying her 1. 5 times her usual overnight rate, for each day she's in Shanghai, would have been fair, IMHO. Judy's has a sign out that says they will open on Friday. I'm not sure if it the same with Manhattan.

The sign has been out for a couple of days. I assume its to give the girls some notice ahead of time. Although I wouldn't be too sure if all the girls will flock back as if things were back too normal.

Spring on maoming opened on July 1st, but later closed again on the 2nd. I'm not going to speculate on what or why it happened. Because it's just that, speculation. Everything or anything anyone knows is just a guess as good as anyone's. So enough with the reports of when the MPs might open. Reports on MPs that are reopened would be far more informative and helpful.

The past weeks have been mostly about when MPs might reopen again and speculative reasons why they aren't. Enough of that. Please!

Thank god! I was really fearing it'd be another Dongguan situation in the Jiangsu / Shanghai area. Worst crackdown since I've been in China. About half the places I know of closed up permanently and became new stores. Hoping Nanjing / Suzhou / Wuxi / Kunshan start following suit and re-opening MPs.

So far, the only MP that I've heard isn't reopened yet is Spring / Yu. When they reopened after the previous crackdown, their off menu options dramatically decreased. I wonder if the same will happen this time, or if they will rebrand completely. Or if something else is going on with them.

Went to 2 reopened MPs today. Both places were busy with girls applying for jobs. That was weird. But I guess with crackdowns, there's also turnover. At the place where I decided to get serviced, I was the first customer that a new girl ever had. The manager told her that I was a good customer and so I would be a good first customer for her. What a bizarre experience. She was so nervous. At one point, she was rubbing my nipple with her nose, for at least a coupled minutes. LOL. But I was polite.

BTW, the place was packed. I texted the manager beforehand, and she didn't reply. When I saw her, she apologized and said that she got so many messages that she couldn't accommodate any client with special requests. She said just come and you get whichever gal is next, because it was so busy. LOL. They reopened today. Finally, in this place the rooms have windows. But the girl just covered them with a towel. So maybe things aren't super strict. We will see. I'll check out other MPs. Oh, and the prices on the menu increased at this place. I'll check out other MPs to see if this is true at other places.

As a follow up on my post regarding my old friend, from Judy's, who offered to come over and stay, from Vietnam. I told her I was only 4 nights in Shanghai and could help her 3 of these 4. Some business obligations were there. Amazing, she contacted some other clients, from EU / USA as well, and managed to piece together a solid week of bookings for her. So I had her registered at the reception and she checked into my room. It has to be boring for her during daytime, but nights were well spent. For the details: she loves to gobble down my DNA, I managed multiple pops and the Greek islands were open for visits. The last night she was with me, she was pondering to extend her stay, seemed that J and M were on the verge of opening. Overall, it was nice but quite an enterprise to share a hotel room with a sexy bar lady from Vietnam whose English is not sufficient to understands this review. She was in a bad mood when she left, why? I don't know, probably money, I treated her fine, she wanted more out of it.

Yesterday I passed by Spring on Wanping Rd and another MP owned by the same people as Spring (altho called differently), also on Wanping Rd just around 20 m south of Xietu Rd, on the west side of the street. Both are closed, locked, looking like they won't reopen soon if ever. One of the masseuses who used to work in those two told me that she doesn't have any news of reopening. SadSad.

Some reopened today. Some will reopen tomorrow and later this week. These include both legit and not so legit shops. But the gals that I know from 2 Springs / Yu still have no idea when they will reopen.

As a duly unusual request pre-shutdown, 3 different MP girls asked if they could stay with me since with their shops locked up they had nowhere to stay. I suppose it's hard going back home and explaining how their jobs allowed them to just take off for an extended break.

Guess it's time to see if any of them are reopened now.

Among the gals that stayed during this crackdown, I finally convinced a few of them to do incall. Most of them never wanted to do it until now. I now understand why. They often live in a single room of a 3 or 4 bedroom apartment, so they have a shared living room and shared kitchen (sometimes shared bathroom, but sometime they had their own) with their neighbors living in the other rooms. So, it was awkward, and sometimes the girl would text me and tell me to wait a few minutes to make sure the coast was clear. What a hassle. Hahaha, some WGs don't quite understand the mindset of the monger. We go to your MP so that we can have your services without having to let you live with us and be around us almost all the time. If the girl moves in, it rather defeats the purpose. Had a similar experience with a wg here who was convinced we could get married and I'd move back to America and take her with. I'm guessing, however, that they aren't wrong in this approach because a lot of their Chinese guy clients actually are looking to "trade up" from their middle aged wives.

How are the dance halls going in Shanghai? I live in Suzhou but read this thread once in a while since the winds tend to go in the same direction. In Suzhou and other cities there were / are Chinese "dance halls" (baidu search "wu ting" but in Chinese characters). Basically it's a place open around 8 am-10 pm that play traditional Chinese music and alternates "fast dances" with bright lights and "slow dances". During the slow dances they darken the room a lot, you pay girls 20-40 rmb, and then you can dance with them and feel them up in the dark. If you speak Chinese and the girls like you, you can often get more. Some freelancers hang out in there and try to get you to leave with them right away, but most girls just come in and make the 20-40 rmb fee from each dance. Some work their full time, some are between jobs, some have other jobs and just come into make some money. Most are not really "WGs". Some of these dance halls are just full of hold people doing normal dancing, however.

Anyway, I haven't seen anyone in this thread discussing these and the ones in Suzhou recently got cracked down on but from what I've read on the Chinese internet, they are still allowed in Shanghai. Might be worth checking out during these hurricane monsoon stormy times.
