Because this sounded just too much like the scam described in Toolkit's excellent report I decided against calling Selina, whom I met on Nanjing road (did I mention that the night I met her at 1AM she said she was hungry and was going to eat?). She looked OK but not the best in the bar, as I had more drinks she started looking better. I admired her patience for we did not talk about money until about 1AM, after 2:30 hours of stroking and light kissing. When I was ready I asked her for a price, she said 1500, I said that is too much and she quickly accepted 1000 RMB.

Unfortunately back at the hotel she was no longer the same patient and sexy girl she was all evening, fake moaning, repeated requests for me to come quickly, were a real turnoff. Finally she explained to me, and I don't know if it is true, that all girls in the bar have a Chinese mamasan who takes 500 RMB, if the girls don't pay the mamasan they are not allowed back. She said the normal charge is 1500 but she accepted 1000, which means 500 for her because she needs the money badly and was eager to return to the bar to get another customer. According to her there are no freelancers in Manhattan, they are all WG who charge foreigners between 1500 and 3000 depending on what they agree to pay. I still paid 1000, I did enjoy the time at the bar but the sex part was very disappointing.

Based on the many positive reviews of Manhattan I suppose that is not the typical experience, I should probably have negotiated LT at the bar but anyway once she started with the fake moaning I really did not want this girl to stay all night. She also explained to me that the reason she had tried to refrain me from drinking at the bar was so as to come back to the hotel and to Manhattan quicker, maybe after many drinks I would not be able to come quickly. Such plain honesty suggests she may be telling the truth about the mamasan as well, maybe this has been reported on before, I confess I only read the last 14 pages of the Shanghai forum before going out. She told you was all BS to get more money. But good report and good to know better stay away from her. If she staid drinking with you for 2 hours means pickings for her must be slow. Also the things she said were a warning for things to come.

Some times you win, sometimes you loose, but no Mama in Manhattan I ever heard of they are all freelancers. Some have agents they need to pay off for visa transportation and lodging but they never show off in Manhattan.

I don't find the viet girls that good anymore lately, they look fake and too much like hookers. Some of them ask for crazy prices.

Only had one realy nice viet girl last winter, that gave me outstanding GFE for 2 days. Besides that I have more luck with the PI girls.

Another report from me. Just moved to this town so have been trying to stay busy and stopped by a MP near People's Square. It's a on the southeast corner of Huanghe road and Beijing road. One look at the exterior of this place and it screams dodgy. Large posters of scantily clad caucasian women where the menu is listed, a tout sitting behind a small podium out front and a KTV just above. You go up an elevator into the main lobby where you are greeted by what turned out to be the actual masseuse. She was was slim and had a cute face but bad skin. A 6 at best. The individual rooms are actually quite decent, perhaps the quality of a 3-star hotel and equipped with a large shower room. After showering, you lie down in a large double bed and she gives you a standard back massage with your choice of massage oil or baby power. She then goes through a simulated cat bath where instead of using her tongue, she uses the tip of her nose. Not bad, but obviously not as good. After about 20 mins of this, she turns you around and does more of the nose thing, working your nipples and roaming all the way up to your earlobes. The actual HJ was uninspired and felt rather mechanical. Total damage was 358 RMB, which is pretty expensive for this type of place but if you're in the area and desperate, it's at least a nice facility.

Referring to the Viet girl and your reasonable disapppointment: as you mention, you spent 2. 5 hrs flirting in the bar plus the time in the room. Her time is her money and she granted more than a ST allowance, all in all, IMHO.

We were warned by members in the Shanghai forum about scams and saw lots of it o Nanjing Road.

Basically, if you get approached by anyone in the street. It's a scam. If you get taken to a restaurant or bar by someone. It's a scam. The standard operation is a 20 year old cutie will start talking to you in the street and ask about your plans. She will suggest a coffee, tea or meal. She chooses the cafe or restaurant and you get landed with a bill from the cafe / restaurant owner with a massive bill. Your new friend will split this 50/50 after you leave with your tail between your legs.

Honestly, avoid going anywhere they recommend, you will be taken to the cleaners, just look back through the forum on how many people have been ripped off with 8, 000 bills for a couple of beers. Suggest you work out a couple of Decent (not the girlie bars as they will not be welocme there and if the girl is for real, you wouod put her off anyway) and go there. You don't need to take her High end Bund type bars, but there are plenty of good Western style bars you can take her to.

If she refuses, then you know she was in for the con and you have avoided being scammed.

I can give you some QQ girls, but if you can't speak enough mandarin and a foreigner, you're out of luck. I think the only other way is if a regular introduces them to you.
