I continuously figure out all alternative new ways to monger, but hell here is a nightmare.

Once understood that Shanghai for mongering is more difficult than Vatican City, I just wanted to relax and forget. Indeed, my last night in Shanghai was a different one, but not as I planned it to be.

For my last night, once finished my business in Pudong, I moved to a hotel near People's Park. I planned to go to a very good restaurant recommended me by the concierge of my first hotel.

It is about 10 minutes from People's Park, so I left my hotel around 20:30. That taxi driver I found was a total idiot. He took me from People's Park to my previous hotel in Pudong (30 minutes driving time) instead of taking me to the restaurant, because he saw the heading on top of the paper where the concierge wrote address and name of the restaurant (which was the main largest thing printed there). I shouted at him and he did not understand why, until the valet of the hotel explained him. Then, 40 more minutes to go the restaurant, which was just 10 minutes from the starting point.

I arrived there at 21.45, to find it lonely and with kitchen closed. The boys at restaurant did not speak a single word of English, but with Google Translate they could help me to find a place to eat. I asked a place open till late for crayfish. They also called a taxi for me.

The new place was in a very lively area full of places to eat, open till midnight or so. The place where I was recommended to go was the busiest. Very very good! A huge plate of crayfish for 158 or so.

I started to talk with a girl accompanied by another girl. I immediately understood they were a lesbian couple. First time I meet here someone so friendly who wants to talk to me in Shanghai.

I offered to buy my second plate if they wanted to share. Her odd reply (odd for me European, but natural for a Chinese) was "hmmm ok but what do you mean with "share"? Share the plate or also the bill?" Of course, I would never invite anyone to eat something with me, if I am not keen to pay the bill.

After one hour talking and eating, I asked them to join me for fun in bars. So off we went. They proposed to take me to "Found 158", which I discovered is a very trendy area with many western-style bars. We had a lot of fun in a latin bar with latin music. 60% western and 40% chinese. I was mouth-watering for the crowd of sexy chinese (even blond) girls on high heels. Mouth-watering, but not regretting I was with the two, because I knew the sexy Chinese were out of my reach (next time I should drive there with a Lamborghini, and my experience would be probably different).

We did not no anything besides holding hands and dancing keeping the feminine of the two in the middle, but however what else I could do in Shanghai? We left the bar at 2:45.

This was my only night of fun in a week of work and business here. Shit!

From what I was told the current campaign is launched to stop the blackmailing of girls through loans with high interest forcing them to do things in exchange. And at the same time they are investigating the accounting of all leisure companies no matter what service they provide to find possible illegal activities from money lundering, shadow banking, etc.

Another source told me the current trade war between US / China has increased the tensions inside the party and a good way to keep people in line is to turn off the tap of cash from yellow & black activities (sex trade, shadow banking, etc.).

Therefore it may stop in July just like it may continue for quite some time, nobody knows. A legit huge high end spa I know of is closed till June 25th in their Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang locations but still open in Guangdong. Some places I know are still offering HJ / BJ services but wearing non sexy uniform and with showers being dismantled / semi walled (have to shower in a dedicated room) they sometimes get police control twice a day.

I was hoping after June 4th everything was cooling down. Or worst after June 10th, end of holiday. Looks like we are going to have long waiting.

The best you will get on Nanjing Lu is a poor massage at the top price plus more. It is even more likely that you will be taken somewhere by even a cute girl and given a short lousy massage and then bullied or beat up for $5000 USD for room rent. (Clip joint style).

Do not ever go anywhere with a tout you meet on the street. Why do you think they are on the street. It is not because they like you. Even taking Nanjing Lu girls to your hotel is asking to get robbed while you take a leak or have thugs knock on your door. The lower the price the more likely they are a gang of thugs.

A legit massage place should charge 300 to 350. Otherwise it is just another Nanjing Lu tourist rip off. Read the forum.

Recently, line-ups at spas are rare these days. I still see them on the rare occasion, but again, very rarely. And I'the be surprised if a hotel spa will have a line-up. Management likely is going to pretend they are a legit spa just for show, especially during the current crackdown. And, in the massage rooms, the girl may be afraid of being caught offering more than a hand job, and if she is willing to offer more, then it'll be with her clothes half on and probably only mish and will try to rush you. In your room, she'll be a lot more comfortable. But again, don't expect a great GFE session with a girl 8. It'll likely be with a mid-thirties 3, and cost a ton. It is what it is. You're paying for the convenience.

I am Chinese, fluent in Mandarin, but moved to USA long time ago, and believe it or not, actually never mongered in China. I will only be in Shanghai for one night.

So if I order in-house spa girl to my room, does this show up on final hotel receipt? I hope not, as it may look suspicious when I do my travel reimbursement, LOL.

It's a cash transaction. And the spa and hotel are separate businesses, so don't worry about it showing up on your final hotel bill.

A quick internet check revealed a spa at Ramada inn 10 minutes from Pudong Airport. Also a "Trip Advisor" report to avoid it because the staff was pushing him to go for "beautiful girls". Also Monica spa does outcall in Puxi. They declare "no breast push" but for 1600 a body slide is offered. 600 is the starting point.

It's actually better to order room service from the in-house spa than to go to the in-house spa. When you call them, they somehow will know if you're staying at the hotel alone or with family. Sometimes, they just ask me if I'm alone. Once they know you're alone, they'll send up a gal that is willing to offer FS. BUT,.

(1) Be prepared to pay for it. Usually, they will not settle for something less than 2000 tip. One girl started negotiations at 8000 LOL. So, including the massage fee, we are talking about 2500.

(2) They are usually a 3. Or someone whose best days are behind them. Of course you can decline, but how often do we really do that?

(3) They will ask how many days you're staying. So say you're staying for at least 2 weeks. Otherwise they will rush and / or give you poor service. Hell, they might do that anyway since you're likely a one-off.

(6) Finally, this option exists primarily at Chinese hotels. It rarely exists or doesn't exist at a Marriott or similar, for example. At Western hotels, maybe a handjob is available at best, but again at a ridiculous tip.

Two parting comments. First, you might think it isn't worth it, but these girls are at your door within minutes of you calling. So it's super convenient. Second, I'm always surprised when no one writes reports on their room service experiences. I usually do. I've gotten laid every time I tried room service from within a Chinese hotel and wrote a report. So, please report. That would be your way of thanking me for my taking the time to write this.

I agree, but for someone that is just traveling through, mongering in China is not as easy as it used to be. When I first moved to China 8 years ago, there were BBBs everywhere, at many MPs everything was available, and saunas operated in the open. Now there are no BBSs, MPs mostly only offer handjobs, and saunas operate discreetly. So, China today is definitely not a sex tourism destination. But if one knows China well, then one can figure out ways to monger. For me, my primary MO is that I collect WeChat contacts of MP gals and later text them to try to meet at their homes, and my success rate is about 30 percent. But for someone just traveling through, this method to get laid just takes too much effort and time. But that said, would I rather live in Midwestern USA or Shanghai if getting laid is important to me? Obviously Shanghai.
