First, thanks to few people who suggested various things and takeaways in Shanghai. It was really a nice experience.

Totally, I had four takeaways, all awesome experience and none less. This is the account of my first experience. Just bear with me if its too boring, I will post just a quick note in my next post.

This was on a Saturday night and I took the metro to West Nanjing Road and went to Manhattan on a two-wheeler taxi. It was around 12PM. Without saying, the place was full and bustling. Paid the barman for a corona and started looking for potential I liked and lusted for. I have been to pickup bars in a couple of countries and boy, I will admit, none like this (except Thailand). One thing, I have learnt from my travels is that you should bargain and hard. There are times where we may miss some because of petty bargain, but yea, no harm in looking for less damage to wallet...

The forum was great background for a recent trip and I thought I'd write some reviews, starting with the spa / massage and "barber shops". These places are everywhere in Shanghai-four within a block of my hotel near the south train station. The BBSs have rotating barber poles out front but no hair cutting is going on inside. They always have the English words on their storefronts, Spa and / or Massage. So both kinds of places are very easy to spot.

No one ever spoke English, but using hand signals and pointing to the prices on their menu signs, it's easy to communicate. The girls were 6-8s, in their lower twenties to quite a bit older. Both massage places charged 200 rmb (about 35 US) for an hour oil massage, HE. They have showers. Fondling and extras depended on the place / girl. The BBSs had no showers, were straight to business, and cheaper (100-200 rmb for HJ).

The best of the bunch I can recommend without hesitation: the spa on Liuzhou Road, on the NE corner with Qinzhou South Road, next to the Huilian supermarket and two blocks north of the south Shanghai train station. Number 10 (two crossed index fingers is the sign for the number 10 in Chinese) is a sweet twenty year-old, small but with a nice body. Partway through the massage she sat between my legs, and propped my thighs up on her outstretched legs to raise me up for all kinds of wonderful rubbing-something I've never had done that way before. The deluxe massage for 368 rmb (60 US) included the massage, a tongue bath over all (the bubbly water treatment) , BBBJ (CBJ to finish) , DATY, light kissing, and spewing over her chest. I'm not sure if FS would have been available for extra. She couldn't come to my hotel though.

Whenever I think of the South Train Station, I think of Southern Sauna (Nanfang) Club. Right across Lianhua Road Station.

It's a pretty decent place, similar price and service to 999 and Bodi. Usually has a larger lineup, but also larger clientele which translates to longer wait times.

My taxi had a hard time finding it even with the address. 1066 Caobao Road. (it was after dark but early, around 7:00) It's next door to a brightly lit denim place and has a small, elegant storefront with the number 1066. Out front was a doorman / usher with walkie talkie dressed in black. The finishing inside is upscale and elegant.

After checking my shoes I was brought directly to select a girl. Five were lined up, visible through an open door. We could communicate, and I asked the mama san which of the girls liked to kiss (through a translator app). This caused a very unenthusiastic response from the ladies. The mama san told me none of them did and don't ask next time because it turns them off. I'd rate the ladies 7 to 9. I picked a thin one with nice tits and what I thought was the best attitude.

That does look like the right link, evidently with an old photo because the sign on the front is different now. The building sign definitely includes the word spa and / or massage in English. I don't know about the Chinese name, Min Chun Yang Zu Tang, because the rest of the signage and literature is in Chinese characters which I don't read. Its menu board definitely includes full body oil massage for 198 rmb (35 US) and the deluxe version I wrote about for 368 rmb.

I'm not as seasoned as some of the others here but I've had nothing but good times at the sauna in the Merrylin Hotel Chang Hang. It's on the Pudong side but easy enough to get to from the Jin Jiang Tower. Take the metro to Century Ave and exit to Zhang Yang Road. A bit pricey (880 RMB) but worth it for an authentic Shanghai experience.

Hours to avoid are before / around lunchtime and after 10 pm.

Good staff attitude, although high traffic. I liked staff attitude and rooks better than 999 or Bodi, although no showers in rooms or ceiling mirrors.

Good fishball. 20+ honeys. Not rushed into taking 2 or the "teacher" (not always pretty or even most skilled. Rather often mecanic)

I thought I would share a cautionary tale about picking up hotel lobby girls, if only to alert fellow newbies.

I tend to stay in the Jin Jiang Hotel in the French Concession where, late in the evening, the lobby often has a foxy-looking girl hanging around. Previously, when returning with friends, I noticed that such girls often just happen to get into the lift with you, especially if you go up to your room alone. You don't have to be the sharpest knife in the drawer to work out what's going on.

On my last trip to the Jin Jiang, I went to the lift area unaccompanied, and sure enough, I was soon joined by an fantastic looking lobby girl. Curves (by Chinese standards) in all the right places. As soon as the lift doors closed she produced a card giving details of various massage services, which she offered on immediate terms. Suffice to say, negotiations were concluded by the time we got to the fifth floor, which with the benefit of hindsight was a mistake. Lesson One: always take you time when negotiating so that you have a clear idea of what's on offer for the price. In my case, the card she gave me offered a 'Heavenly massage' for RMB 400. I asked her if this included as a HE and she said 'yes'. I reckoned that, while this was rather pricey, it could be viewed as a late night outcall to a five-star hotel and in any case I was as horny as hell.

In the hotel room things started off well. I gave her RMB 200 up front and, on asking, the girl said her name was 'Hooting'. She asked me to undress but didn't bother to take off more than a jacket herself. After a perfunctory massage with a bit of teasing, she said that she could give a HE for an additional RMB 200. I explained that we had already negotiated a price previously but she wouldn't budge. She kept saying 'no money, no honey'.
