I'm a little new to this whole new hobby of mine and would like to ask some basic questions about it and hope you can help a brother out.

First of all, depends what "chat" you are talking about.

There is a scene of "QQ-Girls", which you meet on QQ chat program, they are available mostly only for incall, working in private appartments and charge 300 to 400 for a short time and around 800 for overnight (but only from locals, mostly they charge westerners much higher or even not serve them. Here be carefull, because first pictures are mostly not real or photoshoped in a way, that the real girl will look much less attractive! Second this places are the most highly risk entertainment venues you can go to from the view of beeing catched by police. They are not "protected" by the police, because they don't pay for that, second they are not welcomed by the neighborhood, who often call the police to get the "naughty" business out of their area, so not really a good choice from my view.

If you met the girls on wechat, than mostly the pictures or profiles also fake, but a better chance to get an attractive girl. If they will be faced to a foreigner greenhorn, they will try to charge as much as possible (some guys pay 5000 and more for overnight and girls all the time hope to meet a "goldmine" like that), but realistic should be around 800 to 1500 for a "one shoot" experience and 1000 to 2000 for an overnight stay. That really depends, how good she look like, if she speak english or not and so on.

So, went to the massage place on Shanxi bei Lu Chang Ping Lu (not the Buddha one) and saw #18. She has been reported on a few times here and generally gives good service.

I agree with Jude Bright's suggestion to publicise the details of the place. I do not agree with your logic that it is better for ISG members to be scammed so that there is less likelihood of the WGs suffering. They may even know of, and be part of the scam.

Completely disagree, trying to make a case to people who truly believe ripping off foreigners (and their own lads as well) is a prudent business practice will get you nowhere and possibly risk additional troubles. Just pay up, let the ISG brothers know, and move on.

And causing a scene until the issue is resolved is a very bad idea and fraught with danger, particularly if the establishment is not well-known to you! If you know the head of local LE, then maybe you could try this.

There is always the risk of being ripped off. Minimise the risk by sticking to known and recommended places and confirm pricing before accepting any service or goods. If you want to adventure out and explore unknown places, then accept the increased risk.

Remember this does not happen to everyone all the time, otherwise these pages would be full of complaints about KTVs, saunas, MPs and whatever. There are, of course, a few paranoid posters repeatedly sermonising on these pages.

Not to defend these practices in China, but in the US there are similar ads on backpage and craigslist with photos of girls that do not work there. There is no substitute for positive references, wherever you are. It is also helpful if you clarify the price after arriving at a new venue (rather than relying on an ad).

This happened to me in a Suzhou at a legit massage place that had a published "special" I handed them 200 expecting 50 in change. Instead they demanded 50 more. I started yelling in front of customers sitting around. Then they mentioned that the special was on the Er lu. (2nd floor below) Arlo Guthrie, my a* They gave me the fifty to shut me up as I muttered "Arlo Guthrie" down the stairs. Next time I asked to write it down, but they will try to change the game.

It was quite far from downtown. The place was well decorated enough, but the selections were few (only 5 or 6 girls) , and they did not look anything like the ones in the pictures.
