So far I have not been able to find any information on if existing 10 year visas are now valid again. I suspect they are because the embassies of China have started accepting applications for new visas. But cannot find anything in writing.

    10 year visa suspension

Is any information available about the possible reinstatement of 10 year visas? Also, anybody on the ground In Shanghai or elsewhere willing to discuss the Covid situation?

Had a few Chinese ladies contact me wanting to know if I will come see them in January. The answer is no. Like you said, not sure yet if my business visa is valid again. Even if it was I think I will wait awhile before traveling to China. Hopefully the Chinese will be allowed to travel outside the country again and I can just meet the lovely ladies in Hong Kong or Thailand. Don't trust the Chinese government to not change course again.

Testosterone available over the counter in Shanghai?

    Hi All,

I'm on testosterone replacement therapy and will soon be moving to Shanghai. Does anyone know if testosterone is sold over the counter there? In Hanoi it is, so I am hoping for the same in Shanghai. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

    Manhattan re-opens

The good news is that Manhattan has re-opened on Dec 15 albeit at a new location at 56 Maoming Lu. Now as I cannot yet get to China I have no idea of this exact location but so interesting that it has now relocated back to Maoming Lu where it once was over 20 years ago. Amazing.

Hopefully we can get back on those planes and head to China with ZERO quarantine on arrival in 1st qtr 2023 - time will tell.

I bet China gets almost 10 milllion cases before CNY, and then BAM, with CNY travels, it's going to easily be over 100 million. Some people are hiding in their homes, but let's get this tidal wave of infections over with.

We have a miserable several months ahead of us, gents.
Not in China now. Got messages from some lady friends this week. Most understand that it will get bad before it gets better and agree with you that it will be a bad few months. Several want to leave China but I doubt travel will be allowed any time soon.

    Restrictions easing

    Hi all,

Seems a lot of the restrictions are loosening up in Shanghai. What effect do you think this will have on the mongering scene? Will you guys be practicing your hobby more often now?

    Guys,

Thank you for all the inputs. I discovered I had used the international, not the local version of Taobao. After switching back I immediately found what I was looking for.

I used to do the exact same thing. But I then discovered that Google translate works. Just type in Viagra and it provides the correct Chinese translation of it.

But yeah, in general keeping empty packets of necessary pharmacy items is a good idea. I recently needed some medicine and it was difficult to explain what I needed. When they suggested some medicines, I had no idea if this was what I was looking for.

I go to a Lei Yun Shang Pharmacy near Thumb Square (Pudong - 1177 Dingxiang Road) where I buy my vitamins. They do not require a prescription. Just walk in, point (or talk Chinese, if you manage), pay and go out.

I have tried a few other Lei Yun Shang Pharmacies, in Puxi and Pudong, and never really had an issue with them; but that just might have been luck. Other Pharmacies though always have blocked me, asked for prescription and / or ID.

So if I were you, I would locate the nearest Lei Yun Shang Pharmacy and just try my luck. If they don't have it, too bad. If they ask ID, just tell you forgot it and walk out; just a bit embarassing. But otherwise, you have a good permanent convenient place to buy it.
