I also looked into the place before coming to SH. The last news I heard is that the entire place got torn down in October and the businesses scattered to places nearby.

They are in PuXi (Pu West), the western part of Shanghai (and not PuDong, Pu East). They are at least 20 kilometres from RenMin Square。 If you don't have excellent command of Mandarin (putonghua) forget it.
