I was in SH August 19 and 20. Stayed at Hilton hongqiao. I went to manhattan and judys on Saturday. All seemed normal. Tons of ladies at both. Great ratio. I don't take out typically. So I do t know prices.

I did wander around the hotel to find massage. The place next door to the Hilton on the second floor was closed. I have never been there before and was looking forward to it. Bummed it was closed.

So I walked around more. Stopped by thanks massage and went in. A guy came in my room to give the massage. I left.

Then I went another place. I think it's called Lichen. It's in the Chinese hotel next to the Hilton. 390 rob two hour massage and facial. He for another 300. Good time. Good massage. Nice girl.

Then I was off to Hong Kong. Much better fun there!

I am overly worried about the current situation.

I was wondering how LE potentially finds out that I receive a HJ in a legit massage place. Everything takes place behind closed doors and the massage girl is fully dressed.

Does anyone has experience how a raid at a massage places looks like? I always thought that a HJ is no problem and should be part of a proper full-body massage anyway.

Would you currently even avoid to go to a place just for a proper massage with happy ending (no FS)? If not, when would you expect it is more or less safe again?

This afternoon I went to Changshou Rd. I guess I spent 30-45 minutes trying to find the place indicated, and I asked 5-6 people around the supposed no, 76, who all tried their best too. But there is seemingly no 76 Changshou Rd. It is indicated nowhere and the people around did not know about it either. Could you perhaps elaborate a bit, please?

Afterwards I went to Shaan Xi Bei Lu. That was indeed easy to find but I didn't feel too attracted by the ambience, so I left again.

Actually, I went there twice. Each time by taxi. The driver dropped me right in front of the building. There is a small post mentioning the spa at the 4th floor. Very easy to find for me although I don't read or speak chinese.

The other venue is quite weird but is fine actually. You should try.

I can confirm that the raids going on are beyond the scope of mere stadium massage raids. A friend of mine who works as a prison guardian Baoding recently chatted about having to pull an unexpected major shift because they had to process around 150 people three nights ago from a big gambling den that was busted up. Apparently he's never seen such a large raid / influx of people, and has been advised to prepare for more. Stay safe out there, guys!

For those interested, this is information gathered through various sources, I'm not sure which one is true.

Rumor #1. The first sauna raided located at the football stadium. The local government wanted to clear out all businesses at the bottom level of the stadium for renovation. Convenient stores, real estate shops, restaurants, small offices, and others all agreed to move except for the sauna. The government offered them 10 million RMB to vacate, they wanted 30 million RMB. After all negotiations broke down, the place was raided. You can find video and pictures of this event on the net. The whole situation snowballed from here.

I'm not sure if its related to the raid but yes there have been big wipes to convert both the stadium and the area around as parks. Place should then be opened 24/7.

Rumor #2. One owner of a legit foot massage shop went to the local press and complained about how his legit business is getting harassed by customers thinking they can get extra services at his shop. He pointed out a few saunas in the surrounding areas. The press went undercover with cameras into the sauna at the football stadium, sent the videos to the LE threatening to air the footage, a few days later the place was raided.

Rumor #3. There was an administration change over the summer at both the city level and police precinct. Note that this is at the city level and not district level, hence the city-wide shutdown. This administration change plus the preparation for the upcoming communist party meeting (Shijiuda), all entertainment establishments were raided. Over a three weeks period over 4,000 places were raided, this included BBS, MP's, saunas, KTV's, card gambling houses, etc.

I tend to believe it is #3, I verified that the administration change was true and everybody knows about the party meeting. If you're one of the sauna rats like me, you'll find your QQ / Wechat groups either in lock mode temporarily or permanently for some. There are some sauna's providing outcalls now, but the number of girls are less than 10 per shop and the prices pretty high. You'll have to have been a previous customer for them to do business with you.

So guys unless you have regulars that you can contact directly, your best option is Manhattan, Judy's or independents. This storm isn't going away anytime soon.

To that you can add that Xi Jinping would apparently be expected to visit Shanghai in October and that even legit places will be asked to open the door when a girl massages a man and such. During his stay.

Naughty places will have to close during his visit but apparently this time they are asked to close even before this event. Because of the current tension with the 19th congress and the change of power in the Shanghai admin.

I second your recommendation don't go to places which open like Yuyuan road MP advertised below because its not because its opened that it is safe. Think about it, the chances of getting caught in this period is greater than usual because the police has even less places to monitor than usual. Sure MPs are harder to be caught if its a fully dressed quick HJ. But one thing the LE hates is people going against their recommandations.

There are also rumors than specific districts will be shut forever (ie some people say they want to convert pudong as a model district.).

Well as usual there are many rumors, its likely the current situation is a mix of different reasons.

I've been to Judy's and Manhattan few times in the past. However, either the russians / columbians are too less or below average, let alone the dude / chic ratio. Its quite surprising, given that Guangzhou has far more cosmopolitan flavours on offer. Am I missing a place? Please suggest. Need big ass columbians, desperately!
