Ok, so arrived last night, long flight and with time difference it's been over 24 hrs without sleep. Hotel downtown in Pudong. I'm not up to much tonight but I'll do a proper report when I've been out and checked it out. Not sure where the fun is, been scouring the forum but it seems places open and shut frequently and compounded by the fact that this city is huge. Been working all over Europe and obviously these cities, Athens, Rome, Lisbon, Paris etc are a lot smaller so easier to get to grips with. If anyone can recommend places to go here I'd appreciate it, I know about Manhattans already If not I'm sure I'll find my way around and will report accordingly.
Have fun everyone.

Let's put this thread back to the business. Sorry to say, but I see a lot of "bla bla", with very less analysis.
First advice: from my experience and what I read, here you should never follow anyone to anywhere (no matter if it's a guy or a lady). They will just bring the guy to a place and show a huge bill on "room charge" or something like that.
Prices: here it's not cheap. For up to one hour it is closer if not higher than US or European prices, but on the long time the deal can be fairly decent: still you spend 1500 - 2500 RMB (quite an amount) for overnight. Compared to other places that can be considered cheaper, but overall as an amount is still damned high (more than a normal daily net salary, right?
Less than 1000 RMB looks impossible.
The point where I need your help is the "barber" shops. I never tried those. Any idea there?
Anyway overall, what a disappointment this city (price wise)!

Hey guys,
Long time hobbyist and just recently back to Shanghai. I've been here long enough to know that I'm looking for a niche offering. I'm not really into the BBS wham-bam action, I don't want to spend the excessive amounts for sauna's, and I'm not interested in FS / BJ.
Basically I'm looking for a killer prostate, ball tease, and massage combo. Does anyone know a place in Jing'an? I tried the place next to the minimart and it's been just plain average, with seemingly no prostate available. I directly told mamasan before I got situated last time, but it didn't happen and I wasn't charged. Really strange. The girls are all also 30+ and not really noteworthy at all.
The place on Xikang Lu is also gone. Would really appreciate a tip.
Thanks all.

It been some time since my last visit to Shanghai and I would really appreciate some tips of good massage places in the area around thumb plaza.
I know two places, one just cross the to the Radisson hotel and one a bit further up the same road. In both of them you could get a nice HJ but maybe a bit pricey.
But is there any more places in the near, even someone advanced actions then HJ's could be if interest?
Also.
Read that Bodi still is in business! What price level could I expect there now?

Once the newbie working learns the ropes and the mentality of the others seeking to make her peers jealous look out. #18 at Shaanxi Lu seemed perplexed when I offered her 100 tip the first few times. Then accepted it. Maybe that was part of the act. At many MPs the gal will start to bargain with your member in hand. That puts the newbie monger at a disadvantage. The gals are pros or soon will be.

Just be open-minded. The willingness to accept and understand cultural differences will really help. Treat a Chinese woman with respect and honesty and they will definitely reciprocate the gesture.

Posts: 10Just some advice for everyone, you probably really want to watch it with Spa visits.
My favorite had always been the spa next to the Hilton on Hong Song East road, but it got closed start of November. Same with Yu Yuan on Lian Hua Road and 99 on Qilian shan road. Probably quite a few others too. The only ones that remained open was New Wave on Zhong Shan Road (inner ring) near Wuzhong Road and another spot I hadn't known about close by on Wuzhong Road. All girls from the other sauna's pretty much crammed into New Wave.
The one on Hong Song road reopened for about a day in mid-November before they had to shut down again. As far as I know New wave is still operating (I think the owner has several places, but this one is a bit lower profile and he has his connections) but they did have to close two days ago for a day. Not sure if it's safe.
On the plus side, there's lots of sauna girls out there on a break, and most are happy enough to hang out or provide freebies if you speak Chinese.

I think that many here truly fail to appreciate the level of poverty in the rural areas. I have known personally of a few cases, and read of many, where a parent just fatalistically accepts an easily curable illness and gradually die because they cannot afford the costs of medical treatment. Coincidentally, the father of a friend (of my GF) died in agony last week of a leukemia related illness. And the girl's tight-fisted English BF refused to even donate a few RMB to make her father's last few weeks of life a little more comfortable.

While I do agree with most said here I would like add a few things just for the sake of perspective. Talking about Chinese girls is as much useful as talking about say American girls. They are all individuals and different. Even if it does not seem like that. Do not forget what a Chinese says and means an be very different. Often they just want to test you. I met great Chinese people in all social classes but also many selfish assholes. Again across all social classes and origins. Another thing to take into account is the level of poverty many of these ladies suffer or their family in their hometowns. Visit these places and you will learn a lot about the real society here. A few hundred RMB still can change many families life's. And cost of living is going up dramatically. Money as a security deposit in current China's money centric society but for many people it is a necessity. Not all are Gucci wishing money grabbers. People are also extremely flexible. One moment a gold digger the other moment she may do you for free and cook you dinner. All happened to me. But also the opposite applies. This is one key for me to understand life here. Nothing is as it seems. Nothing stays for long. If you are not able to adapt fast and react accordingly you will have a difficult life in China and just get screwed continually. Just be a bit clever and life can still be gorgeous. Enjoy as long as it lasts.

When I came to Shanghai some years ago, I had the idea to find a serious girlfriend in Shanghai and started to search in the internet. Went to a contact page, registered for a profile and started dating. After the first girl asked me on our first date all about my income, house and car, I decided, not to date a girl a second time, if the "value things" are a part of our first date! And after some month I realized I dated more than 100 girls from that page, and only 4! Did not ask me "how rich I am" on the first date. I think this should be a good market research about the importance of money in a Chinese relationship. By the way, one of the 4th has been getting my girlfriend for a long time and one time I mentioned this "difference" to her, than she told me, she did not ask for my money, because from her feeling she was sure already that I would be rich enough for her!
