I lived in Shanghai about 10 years ago and have been back recently. I don't have any particularly special info, but I thought I'd put what I know out there in case it is useful. I mostly go for BBS, I can speak Chinese and look Chinese, so I can get away with them thinking I'm a local most of the time if I want to.

BBS still seem to be fairly common here, especially outside the city center. I pay 100 for HJ, 150 for BJ and 200 for FS. Shops that just give HJ are usually staffed by women in their 30's or 40's, but sometimes they can be pretty cute with nice bodies still. I always get to play with their tits for this price. Usually they will say it is around 50 or 60 for an hour. After you get with the girl, (often it is rooms but cubicles) it varies a lot how much of a massage you get before they start massaging the important parts. In the past when I was here, there was another class of HJ joints. Cute young girls, dressed in dresses and dolled up, not a good massage, and usually cubicles not rooms, but always a HJ included for 100. I haven't seen any of these since I have been back. But I honestly haven't checked the one place I remember them being specifically, I think it is Guilin Lu, kind of between Xujiahui and Gubei, north of Shanghai south railway station. Anyone have any good info on this?

Cheap FS can still be had, at least if you look Asian. I guess you would be charged max 300 (100 extra) if you look foreign. I am talking about the kind of place that is on yinghua lu, by longyang lu station. Usually you can see in the window and there will be one who's turn it is, but you can ask another one if you want. They are pretty straighforward, in the room, price, clothes off and go. But can be fun with YMMV type of situations. There are obviously fewer options than before, but still plenty around if you look. In my experience girls are usually 5-6 with a 7-8 if you get really lucky, but rare.

I have been to spas as well, but not really the kind of money I can be spending often. One kind of place I haven't tried yet is the kind of place by century park and kerry center. Also by century ave if you go south-west. Pretty young girls dressed classy, in black waiting by the door. Usually signs in English and sometimes japanese. I went in a couple and they quoted me 300 for an hour. But the mamasan wouldn't tell me exactly what I got. She just said I would be "fully satisfied". I asked if it was for fucking and she said no. The reason I didn't go through with it was because that joint had windows on the door with clear glass. I think it is probably like peacock, a decent massage and tease followed by HJ or BJ. But I couldn't find any reports on here so I don't know if there is a tip involved. These kind of places are usually around hotels, so I feel like they might end up being pricey compared to other options. Anyone tried them?

Someone recently mentioned Tangqiao lu. I went and checked it out, I only found one shop open, but I think they might have been worried about a raid and some of the regular places were closed. Was quoted 200 for FS. Eshan lu nearby has some more options (HJ).

I don't know exactly your venue, but most KTVs who offer girls in different colored clothes mark the different "rates" for sitting fee visible with that. I know a club where you pay 500 per normal girl in white dresses, the pink ones are 600 and for the "schoolgirl uniformed girls" they charge 700. You did not mentioned the fee you paid for your girl, so I guess you have been invited, so no one explained the different rates to you (that would be very unpolite for the host).

Most of the big KTVs have hundreds of girls, so the selection is much better than in a sauna or massage club. Only not so popular for western guys, because you need to be a group to enjoy the party and less english speaking girls.

You did not mentioned if you did any "naughty games" in the room. A lot of nightclubs have special "program" for that, for example strip dance, topless games, naked games, lapdance, even BJ games are on the menue in some clubs (most time not in the very expensive high class places).

Than another question is, did you ask the girl out? Most girls are available for "takeout" much more fun, because "less mechanical" like the girls in the pickup clubs (KTV girls are most "party girls" not "only prostitutes" So not a lot of customers and they can decide, if they go out with you, so they also try to enjoy. Would be interesting, how much the girls there charged for "takeout" fee.

By the way, I just think about organize a regular open KTV party. Means we check out a day (approximatly be Saturday), than a meeting point in a naughty KTV Club, than everyone can come over and all together share the cost for room, drinks and so on. Do you guys think that would be interesting?

Looking for a place for some extended lunch fun and all the saunas seem to be in Puxi. Is there anywhere from LJZ out to, say, Biyun Lu?

The closest sauna to LJZ is probably SiYuan or Bodi.

You can look them up online just Google Shanghai Sauna Map.

SiYuan is right across the Intercontinental Hotel, easy to access and easy to make up legit excuses.
Bodi has greater selection but is located in a strange place like middle of a highway, so sometimes there are no taxis available.
