I get a customer info today, that Pattaya sauna closed, also the massage places in Laoshan lu have been closed today, so I talked with some girls I know from other sauna places and Tang Dynasty, Jun Hao and 1066 are definitly also closed, and the girls have "holiday" now, but even they don`t know when they will be "back to business". They told me they have to wait till their company will call them back. So seems at the moment the city getting more and more dry. I will report if I get any message, that they have been reopend.

Something big going on (the 21 May Asian Convention?). Today ALL BBS / SPA venues south of Century Park were closed (padlocked). Tried then the Weifang Lu area. Same. ALL my regulars at various venues are 'off' and give evasive answers. Some hint the next few days would be better (which does not make sense given the upcoming May 21 summit). Things were not as bleak back in Feb during the Dongguan aftermath. Please be careful out there.

I asked some sauna manager I know and no one of them heard about anything like that, so seems at least the sauna business is not touched by any raid alarm.

Massage joint on Shaanxi bei Lu has been closed for inspection some nights this week. There's some big Asian conference May 20-21, and the main man will be here as well as foreign high ups. Expect a crackdown so no one gets the impressionthere's any hanky panky going on here in Paradise. Viets will only be allowed 15 day stays on new visas (this is a separate issue with a body of water down south). Flippers already have been reduced to nil. Get out your Rolodex, you'll need those numbers for at least the next month. About half the shops open over the weekend. Called my regular Monday for Tuesday. Not working. Discovered that all of the shops in this area closed. Some of the shops never reopened after CNY. What the girls wear has been toned down lately. At some shops, the door to the shop locked until you walk up. I can get it a block away in a sleazy shop. No shower. Girls look so so. 300. Not really my style. The times have changed from early this year in this area.

Recent explorations in Minhang (Meilong and Gumei are like a playground!) with the assistance of Happy Massage. Com 'yellow pages' led me to attempt to visit the Tian Xin Sauna Club (978 Gumei Lu near Gulong Lu).

Reviews on that site were good, and it was listed as foreigner friendly. However, when I contacted the manager via WeChat (in Chinese) to reserve the discounted price, I was advised that they are temporarily suspending foreigner service.

So, be advised.

All was not lost. I contacted a 24 year old hardbody playmate I met online and she was at my door in moments. A cheaper and more satisfying night.

I am now planning to return, and I would be very glad if the community could update me on the general situation. I used to hang out at shanghai hotel, bodi and a few others but also frequent with bbs an SW. So, please enlighten me here.

I have read about some saunas, and thats very helpful. But still, these places comes and goes, so whats hot and whats not is kind of a day-to-day intel.

For the pickup clubs: Manhattan Club is still the first choice, Judy`s now get nearly the same, even better from some guys view, both are very near to each other, so you can check it out for yourself. There are no filipine or thai girls there any more (or at least very less) , the bars are both dominated by viet girls. The price rice up, so now 1000 is what most of the girls asked for shorttime, even this was the overnight price some years ago. You need good negotiation skills to get the 600 for short time at the moment. Also the quality go down, very less girls there will bring you a "girlfriend experience". Most of them offer a much more "rushed and mechanical" service than some years ago.

Girls Bars: The Tong Ren Lu closed end of 2009, than now you will find a line of bars in HuaShan Lu opposite side of Hilton Hotel, some in XiKang Lu just around the corner of Manhattan hotel, than there is a barstreet with around 20 girlsbars in Pudong (Chang Yi Lu).

Sauna Clubs: The most popular ones still exist, like for example Hai Lang. 999 or Bodi hotel, also the Shanghai Hotel Sauna is still "in business", but also some new good sauna clubs came up, like for example Tang Dynasty or Jun Hao. The rate went a little bit higher these days, so most saunas now start with 780 to 880 RMB.

Barbershops have been closed around the expo 2010, but reopend the last 2 years, so now you can find several ones again all over the city. For a "Lao Wei" it is very hard to get a price lower than 300 there, Chinese price there should be around 150 to 200.

Handjob massage shops also all around the city, rate should be 200 for a HJ happy ending, there are guys here in the forum who mentioned that they can get it for 80 or 90, but till now I did not found any shop like that.

I think after Dongguan has been raided last month, Shanghai is one of the most "opened" city for that kind of fun in China, so you will not feel regret to come over!

I actually saw a few SW (but, could have been ropers for nearby BBS) working Pu Dong the Dao and Jinqiao Road last week in the late afternoon. The ladies were over 40, sort of reminded me of Temple Street in HK.
