I am going to be in Shanghai, visiting in January. The primary purpose is to check out a few language schools I plan to join over the next summer. The secondary purpose isto have some fun (the-oh).

Just a couple of quick bits of input re. Mighty Spearsman's excellent post quoted below:

1. Taking the Metro to SH Indoor Stadium is certainly not the best way to get there on the Metro. You can certainly do this, but then as MS mentions you'll also need to take a taxi several km north along Zhongshan Xi Lu, or walk for half an hour or so. BUT there are a couple of much closer metro stations, within easier walking distance, such as the Hongqiao Road station on lines 3 and 10. Look at a map and figure out what is best for you.

2. If you're using Google Maps, it seems never to show the name of Zhongshan Xi Lu, so be aware that it is the ground-level road running north-south parallel to the raised expressway.
