Last week I tried the MP on 1565 Huashan Lu as some others seem to be veggie only at the moment.

When I walked in the receptionist directly recommended the "lymp massage" for 258 RMB which was advertised on the counter. After double-confirming ("is this a special massage" - "yes it is") I was sent to the room and asked if I would like to take a shower first (on the floor). After 10 minutes or so, a mid-/ end-30 (6/10) showed up and started the usual routine (back massage for about 20 minutes, then big focus on the lower region), Flip, HJ). After that again shower on the room.

After the flip, she asked for a tip before she started the HJ, but we didn't talk about any amount. Gave her in the end 100 and was a bit surprised that she seemed to be not satisfied.

Overall average girl but good massage, good HJ, total damage 358 RMB.

I went there today. It was closed. Just and FYI, in case anyone was thinking about making a trip there.

I don't always see 100% eye to eye with Black Page but he is a very experienced monger with great knowledge of many areas to share. I wish I had been on the ground in SH when he was there recently as I know I could have assisted his search. Maybe next time.

BBB, I sent you a PM. And I agree about Black Page. I know him from his posts in the Batam thread. Batam is not an easy place to monger, and so if he can do it, then he's someone worth listening to.

YES I have no doubt my 2 favourite bars in Nanyang Lu / TongRen Lu area will re-open in a bit. It's an interesting period we are going through.

Couple more places visitors might like to hit up. Windows Garage on Nanjing Lu late nights late week usually has wall to wall Africans. Nest on Beijing Lu has a good cross section Chines / Internationals almost every night from 11 pm on. If they are sitting at the bar it's a great indication they yearn for male company.

Get out there and attack guys. There is a never ending supply. Just go cut one from the herd.

I wouldn't be so worried about that. Many many places have had to close in May. Some more are closing this week (this week is related to a specific event as discussed below).

A manager from a big high end sauna & cigar lounge showed me the sms which she got asking her to close until June 25 or 26th I forgot.

Shanghai is under heavy inspection from the disciplinary commission or however its called and not just Shanghai. The high end sauna chain I'm talking about had to close in Zhejiang, Jiangsu aswell and was still opened in Shenzhen at the time but maybe that changed since then.

We'll know end June / begining of July if the wind cools down or if we are in for another cycle. Its likely the current tension with the US is not helping since it creates tension within the party.

I looked on aishxx and whilst it looked promising, it seemed a bit risky following instructions to a random address sent to me by a stranger on wechat.

I have tried few of those numbers on aishxx for sauna like places and always were good place. Safety was OK. Good service and standard girls, good and not good looking. All choices. Prices respected as per wechat message.

Sincerely I never had safety problem in China, people always behaved nice. You respect them, they respect you. And if something happened I did not like, I just politely refused and left. No issues. The only advice I had always from friends and from the reports you can read on this thread, was to never, ever go with those who stops you in the touristic place and ask you if you want a "lady massage" or tea test. Those are scams.

I think police should shut down these organizations, not our beloved he massages places!

Recently, line-ups at spas are rare these days. I still see them on the rare occasion, but again, very rarely. And I'the be surprised if a hotel spa will have a line-up. Management likely is going to pretend they are a legit spa just for show, especially during the current crackdown. And, in the massage rooms, the girl may be afraid of being caught offering more than a hand job, and if she is willing to offer more, then it'll be with her clothes half on and probably only mish and will try to rush you..

I ended up not playing in Shanghai during my one-night stay. I had dinner with some old friends until kind of late, and was no more in mood to call my hotel in-house spa for service. Also kind of to my surprise, when I was walking on Nanjing Road to the bund, nobody approached me with massage / girls / etc. Maybe I am Chinese, or maybe the weather is not good. Thanks for all your answers though!

Two days ago I checked the old spring msg in Madang Road. It was around 11.30 pm and once in the receptionist told me "sorry, no HE massage". To my question "will it will be available again soon?" answer was in about a month.

So, even if it is not a guarantee, there is still some hope.

I talked to a good source today who mentioned that, many things have changed. Many massage places have closed down. Customers can no longer take showers. Room entrances cannot be covered. Only 7 min is allowed for a door to be covered so the customer can change. No one knows why. In the past this would happen when a big official would visit. It's maybe related to June 4th. The HJ place is now a foot bath place. This is a place not frequented normally by non Chinese. I would recon there is now a large population of CN males that are frustrated by this "situation" seems to be just the opposite of a government that wants to keep the population happy. Many workers are displaced with family at home. Will this drive them back home where they can be controlled better?

In this current bad weather, the HJ oil massage place I normally frequent on Yuyuan Road (Jingan) seems to be closed.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an alternative? I've been trying random spas and not having much luck. All these massages are adding up in cost!

An even better alternative would be a recommendation for a lowish risk way to find someone willing to visit my room for said massage and HJ (preferably only partly clothed)?

I'm headed over the pond to Shanghai for the 1st time in maybe 5 years.

If I am reading right M&J are shut down!? Can anyone confirm this is still the case?

I loves it there the last time I was in town. With the weather bad I will post any updates when I arrive there Sunday.
