I am going to visit Luohu area for the first time in October. If you had the choice, what would do?

Stay in either of these Hotels: 1) Crowne Plaza Landmark 2) The Panglin (Pengnian) Hotel 3) Perthden Hotel? Would you stay a) one day in SZ plus one day in HK or b) two days in SZ?

I will be in HK beforehand, using it as a hub to get to other destinations.

I'm in Shenzhen for a few days on business staying in the Nanshan district. I've scoured the thread, but I can't seem to find any info on reliable out-call (to my hotel) services. Can anyone recommend? If not, is there any action to be had within walking distance of the Intercontinental? Appreciate any help. I was expecting China to be a lot easier that other places.

Shenzhen, as most places in China, have plenty of action (well, maybe not Nanhu subdistrict in Luohu). And certainly not the level of action that was commonplace prior to Xi Jinping's 3 Vices Campaign. The only problem for the casual Western visitor is the action is not out in the open as it used to be. BBSs action comes and goes depending on police attention.

By far the best way to have a fun time is to have a Chinese colleague or friend who is a regular monger. Discreet conversations with business colleagues and associates may identify potential partners in crime (actually mongering is not a criminal offence).

Westerners' problems is that they cannot speak or read Chinese and are only in SZ for a few days. Mongering by Chinese, for those that can afford it, is a regular pastime. I have many Chinese business colleagues who monger at KTVs, sauna (generally only BBBJCIM in SZ saunas at present), etc etc. I have even stayed at a company 'hotel' (actually luxury townhouses) accompanied by 2 SYTs who were present at the banquet earlier that evening.

I have many times recommended:

1. Learn some useful Chinese phrases.

2. Stay at a Chinese 4 star hotel.

3. Make friends with the concierge, doorman, etc.

4. Use the hotel's spa / sauna service. If possible use in-room service.

5. Be friendly and ask for extra services as you progress through the normal routines.

6. Ask for personal WeChat ID for out of hours services.

7. Not just money, but a small gift is always appreciated.

8. Ask if she has GFs who would like to meet you.

9. Look in English language internet sites for personal (not agency) advertisements. Avoid girls who give excuses such as "I have my periods, but I have beautiful young friend who also speaks English and is qualified 'tui na' therapist".

10. Meet the girl in the lobby, and If she does not meet your requirements (particularly English and looks), give her some taxi money, ask her to leave and show her the door. Any problems, call hotel security. There are many variation of this strategy.

11. Make sure that you control the action in the room and keep valuable out of sight.

When you have spare time you can browse my posts in China (and not just SZ). One other thing that I would add here is that personal appearance and personality is important to quickly charm freebies.

I do not profess to be a mongering guru like SEAJ. OAH etc, but I have experienced and learnt quite a lot during many year in Asia (mainly China / HK), and I have certainly developed many techniques to quickly bed a SYT freebie.
