Crackdown, perhaps, starting to ease up. Actually, my feeling: "gong an" have to go through the motions of dancing to Beijing's tune, but the reality is that terrorism, counterfeit money, gross money laundering, corruption amongst the local CP officials are higher priorities than harassing "xiao jie" who find themselves cash needy.

What I should also have mentioned is that Chachaba is interactive and when you hover over a point, it displays the area name or building name. So it is a very useful tool at times!

I have found some of the hotel booking sites have reasonable maps with both Chinese and english street and area names.

As I am usually up north I am not sure if this is the case down south.

I used this in Changchun and in Ordos city and it was ok.

A print of a map with the street name in Chinese and building number may prove helpful.

Thanks Teltel, I checked a few hotel booking sites, but they did not give me the required info.

However, I have found some info on an interactive 3D map (Chachaba) which I have found useful previously when providing locational data to friends.

The first map depicts the general area I am looking for. The other 2 maps are for the general interest of those familiar with Shenzhen.

Unfortunately, the Chachabe maps are out of date now. Does anyone know of up to date interactive 3D maps for Shenzhen?

The area is on Binhe Ave, I think about 250 to 500 metre from the Jingji Flower City complex (towards Huanggang). Anybody been there?

One evening last week, I accompanied a SYT to buy some 'quality' Chinese cosmetics (brand name Perfect!) from a small retail outlet. As usual we got lost and spent some time wandering around an older area off Binhe Ave. During our meandering perambulations I noticed interesting activity in a few of the alleys.

Tonight I decided to locate the area and visit later this week. We should all remember that there are WGs in most of the older cuns, not just the few discussed adnauseum in this sub-forum.

I have always used Ditu Google as Google Maps is notoriously unreliable around the China-Hong Kong border where the river according to Google, between Futian and Luohu, tends to wander up north of Binhe Ave, with all street detail disappearing.

However, Google now seems to have recently updated their mapping apps. Ditu Google is now the same as Google Maps, which is totally inaccurate in the border areas, and one can no longer overlay satellite and maps, and there are no place names on the satellite view!

So, I can't find the name of the area, and can't identify the relevant streets/place names, to direct the taxi driver. Bloody Google!

I accept robust discussions as part and parcel of the ISG environment (I survived the USENET newsgroups and BBS's of the 90s) , but the subject needs to be on-topic and in the spirit of the objectives of the forum!

As can be readily seen, I have never responded to any of LukeSkywalker's taunts either here or on the Manila sub-forum. And I have never posted any filthy material myself directed at him!

I even received from him emails with headings like "Re: Go home and FUCK YOUR OLD UGLY MUM STUPID ASSHOLE AUSSIE BASTARD All".

But, I think that he realises that he has gone far too far this time! I believe that we might now see a more mature, sensible and subdued LukeSkywalker in the future.

It's not just Luke. It goes to ALL parties and yes it's getting very tedious. It's been happening to long.

Fast Eddie has a habit of making derogatory remarks if he disagrees with your post. Fast Eddie does it to me from time to time and I have notice he does it to other too. If a person strongly disagrees with your comments, he doesn't have to use belittle, condescending or swear words directed at the person.

I don't think it's going to happen unless the Admin gets involved. It has been going on for very long time now. Suggest maybe PM the Admin for a warning?

A well-respected ISG bro has shared with me details of a wonderful location in Shenzhen. There are many fishbowls places like those in Manila, and saunas and luxury KTVs. Fishbowls or brothels in Manila?

I never mentioned any fishbowls in SZ. ICKY just made it up so he could lie about it. ICKYMAN and CRASS EDDIE just seized the opportunity to be an ugly, mean-spirited asses. These ugly guys should be avoided.

What I called fishbowls in Manilla may confuse a few stupid dicks in the China thread.

Unlike Bangkok and PATTAYA (not Manila) where fishbowls are glassed-in rooms where the girls sit on elevated benches for viewing, the places in Ermita and Makati are large rooms where girls sit on chairs and benches around the perimeter. Guys are allowed to wander, get up close and mingle with the girls. The girls are for take out only. They never mentioned rooms for sex in the buildings. I picked up a few very sweet and good-looking young and fresh girls from these places. The selections are much better than MBC / LA Cafe and the bars on P Burgos.

They look and work like fishbowls so I call them fishbowls. What do local bros call these places? Fishbowls or brothels. There are no rooms for sex on the premises, so the term brothels may be incorrect.

I gave instructions for these places to a few bros who visited Manila. Don't know whether they used the directions and found any good places.

A few ugly, marrow-minded, mean-spirited, despicable guys like CRASS EDDIE and ICKYMAN seized on the term and made stupid asses out of themselves.
