Thanks for your report and sorry your experience was not so good. That said, the service you received is pretty normal in that area. If you want a BJ, you need to ask in advance. I have not mongered in that area for a year or so now but it is good to know that it is still an option for a quickie near the border. Warning: Watch out for any touts or girls that want to take you anywhere else besides the apartment buildings close by. They run a lot of scams out of that area.

To answer my own query (in the absence of any fedback here) I discovered the McCawley Irish Bar in the Sea World area of Shekou. Great atmosphere, and a gathering house for expats. A wide selection of beers on tap, good food. Emily's Cafe 3 blocks along Xinghua Road also great foods. Lots of bar action in Xinghua Road and in the opposite direction down Taizi Road. A great night. Well done the All Blacks! And Xiao well done.

If you are going to Shen Zhen or China for that part. Do not go during Chinese new years. Most of the girls dissapear and stay with families. A normal American would assume that means new years day or maybe 3 days at that time. China is not the USA. China celebrates New Years for 4 weeks! Yes 1 whole month. Do they leave 1 week before or a few days before. I don't know. But bad time to go for mongering. This is just a pearl of wisdom. Never tried wechat there but I am looking forward to it.

I've been visiting Shenzhen for tens of times and almost always stayed either at the Landmark hotel (nowadays Crowne Plaza Landmark) or Panglin hotel and always walked into the BBS on the other side of the large road from Panglin. Now, I have not been there for a year and have been reading post trying to figure out if the BBS is still live. I was not really able to find much of discussions about the area. It was already quieter during my last visit so I'm wondering if its closed.

I also know the area near Shangri-La at the Luohu station but some comments are also saying there is not much but Jiabin road would have action. I'm not sure if I've ever been to any BBS at Jiabin so could someone provide any additional instructions?

Also other areas in Sz are ok since I anyways have customers around the whole area and can stay pretty much anywhere.

What would you recommend where to stay in order to have a reasonably good western style hotel within a walking distance from BBS?

The old Seibu BBS is still alive but only a few girl and a few bbs is still around, most of the girl will go outside with you back to the hotel anymore if they do they want 300 rmb for one hr, so of you are staying at crown or Panglin is close by and there are many FS sauna and SW near by the area.
