I thinks it's fair to say that there are dozens if not more 128 massage shops in Luowu. Santa gave me the directions to post but sorry, I didn't write them down. Generally, the 128rmb price is listed at the bottom of the poster in a column of prices. It's usually one of the higher-priced offerings.

I can't vouch for quality because all Santa and I sprung for was a 30rmb quickie. We just wanted to see if it could be done.

This evening in Shanghai I partook in a 128rmb massage just across from my hotel. My Wuzhou girl was quite sweet and cute. Upon paying though, the cashier tried to get 228rmb from me but I refused. So, watch yourself out there.

Cappy, you mentioned some oily massage with happy ending for 128 RMB, but I didn't see anything with that number posted. I cannot read or speak, so this is the main problem. Anyone have any landmarks or clues how to find these? Thanks.

(assuming the BBS cluster you were referring to, Manifest, is in the Hu Bei Xin Cun that is pretty close to Days Inn and that location has been a topic of late on the board. If that is not the one, I will scout around on foot tomorrow night when I look for SW.)

Hu Bei Xin is very close to where I am staying, but I didn't have a chance to check it out during the evening hours this trip, yet. I was, however, describing a different cun pretty close to Days Inn.

The location is described in my first post, and a refresher recently, so I won't repeat. At around 10 PM tonight, there were 9 BBS with between 1 and 10 girls. The area seems to be just about what I remember it to be, and the overall quality was pretty good. I can't really distinguish between real and rent-a-cops, but there were several uniformed personnel around. The mama asked me some questions to which I just smiled, I said the magic "yibai wu", and she nodded, handed me a key and signaled for me to walk around the block by myself before entering a doorway. Service was with a smile and overall very nice. I didn't see any other customers around, and all the girls seemed to be sitting around, so quite service oriented at least tonight.

I'm happy to report this little cun survived.

Was asking on the forum because of the horrible connection problems that I'm sure some of the other China users are experiencing too. Having to use a proxy to gain access now and for some reason it won't accept search queries on either the forum or threads.

Best I can do for now is repeat my offer of guide next time you are visiting Dalian, if you need it.

Looked at ctrip for the Nan Hai but priced at 860RMB per night. The only other option is the Hai Tao at 280RMB. Cheap and cheerful is fine, but while its cheap, don't know if it's cheerful!

Does anyone know of a fairly cheap or mid-priced option?

Any advice on Shekou hotels is very welcome. Will report back about my misadventures when I return.

Been living up in Dalian for a couple of years. This is very much a part-time hobby for me and I may not be too up-to-date with all the best spots. However, I do know the city - and a variety of massage/bar opportunities - pretty well. If anyone new to the city is looking for a guide/buddy etc. just give me a shout.

I did even more scouting of the area Thursday night at 8 pm (a decent time for mongering), I saw 2 (two) girls who were SW's, both of them were just sitting, playing cards at a legit little snack shop.....that's it, less the one small relaxation massage joint with 4 girls who were all ugly....

I'm in town now and checked the area out during the day, mainly to stop and get seafood, but also to see if the "128" shops were open during the day. One interesting observation is that there seem to be two places with blue lights open during the day. If you are walking east on Zhong Xing Lu and turn right onto Le Yuan Lu (just before the main North gate), go down 2 blocks. At the second street that hits Le Yuan Lu perpendicularly, turn right. (there is a slight fork, take the left path). Walk for about 1 minute, and on the right side, there is a store with 2 blue poles with no barber chairs. As I lingered a little making a mental note, a girl came out and spoke very nicely and earnestly, but try as I might, no clear understanding. I didn't want to make the "sex sign", but she didn't seem to understand the word massage either. From the looks of it, this could be a provider.

Across the street from that place, into a small alleyway, there is another place with 2 blue poles and no chairs. I watched 2 guys enter and be escorted to the back rooms. I will check them out perhaps tomorrow during the day again now that I looked up the Chinese words necessary to communicate.

Please note, this is outside of the cun, closer to all the seafood restaurants. It is/was about 2PM. More details when I get them.

On rereading my post my estimate of 40-50 girls is likely a bit high, it would problably be more like 20 to 25. But that is a lot more than the half dozen you saw. It looks as if the authorities are willing to let a small amount of business there which indicates that after a few months, I would expect 5 or 6 shops to be in business, likely on the back row, furthest from ZhongXinGuangCheng. I dont think it will ever fully recover to the major monger spot, because the land is too visible and valuable.

Still, shopping for girls there is not for the feint of heart and OAH style shopping is likely not a good idea. It is important to be inconspicious and discreet when selecting and move quickly to the room. Clearly some shopping is allowed or the girls could not be there, it is just a bad idea though to tempt fate.

The interesting thing here is that we saw two men keeping an eye on the area and us, I would safely bet both if these fellas were plain clothes vice squad. They are working hard to improve the area, especially on Shennan Lu so I don't think this area will ever come back again.

Seems like Shenzhen is very much up and running after the series of crackdowns. I will do some scouting around those regular places and report back soon. Of course this will includes Sha Tsui areas.

First time I met AG in Oct 2006. We PM each other and set a location in which we are to meet at Nan Jing Dong Road near a shopping mall. I had never given him any photo or description of myself. At the right time, he came around, gave me a pad on my back and said: "Cockburn, this is AG!" How on earth does he know me, in the middle of a crowded street? I am ABC and would count myself totally Chinese looking. Even shop assistants would not even be able to tell that I am not local.

That's not all; I had never told him my Lastname, but in email he sent me later, he addressed me by my lastname! I was totally freak out by those incidents!

He pass me a package full of Shanghai snacks in which I were to deliver to his ex-wife in LA. When I arrived at the house (he said he bought that for his ex-wife) I confirmed that he is not FBI or CIA agent. Agents do not make that much money to be able to efford such a huge property!

Whoever he is, I had also concluded that I better not get into his bad books.

I just made a trip to Cambo about a month ago (their visa sticker is so f**king big that it takes up a whole page on your passport. No custom agent can miss that page.
Coming back, I had to go thru and use 2 airports (NY for a short visit and then back home in Canada). Didn't get stopped at either (Wew).
I usually dont carry too much luggage and on the declaration forms , I put down 2 T-shirts.
--Never put down foods--its a red flag.

They don't wear any numbers. You must ask the girl or the guy what their numbers are. You will also find that you will get better service the next time you return. They only offers HJ, not BJ nor FS however you can always try and talk them into coming to your room after work or before work.
