North China - Tianjin

I'll be in Beijing and Tianjin in early January. This will be my first visit to Tianjin and I don't have any reference to go by except what's on this thread.

Are there fellow mongers out there to lend hands to manage cold winter days of Tianjin? Any information would be welcome.

Its been a while since I’ve been in Tianjin, but it used to be a good place, I used to enjoy myself a lot picking up Non Pros – quite easy even though I don’t speak a word of Mandarin.

Boomerang at the Friendship Hotel was the busiest place in town, with both Locals and Expats. If you couldn’t score there – you should seriously consider a life in the Church!!

A great mixture of all sorts, mostly non pros, you should practice your patter before hand. A good live band also plays most nights.

The other good Expat bar / restaurant was the Broadway, especially in summer with the Beer Garden. Sunday afternoons outside watching the Beach Volleyball was great.

Again, mostly non pros but always had a couple of Pros hiding in the shadows.

Also another good spot was the NYC at the end of Cheng Du Dao – Upstairs above the Fast Food place, basically a Cantonese restaurant with a Filipino band.
Fridays and Saturdays, 9:00pm was always packed and easy pickings with the college girls.

Felis and the new Rainbow were OK for talking to girls and if you were persistent enough, you could get a take away.

Before Boomerang got popular, Sergeant Peppers used to be good (on Jei Fang Bei Lu) with always one or two pros propping up the bar. But the last time I was there it was dead.

There are some very good discos, but they keep changing in popularity so quick you’d have to know which one is the flavour of the month – try asking the staff at one of the popular bars.

As for TEDA and Tanggu – best place for a quiet drink and some good food was the Parrot Bar (on 1st avenue I think) just at the main exit of the express way.
For real action, you need to know a Local, as the quiet residential areas between 1st avenue and the TEDA Hotel had a few ***** houses, but from the outside, you couldn’t tell.

In Tanggu itself, the row of Barber Shops by the side of MacDonalds always had a few good looking girls. They have probably all gone now as there was a lot of re-development going on at the time around that area.

If there are any more updates, it would be good to know, as I will probably be back there soon.

I hate to see this city going dry and would like to shed some light to it. Let's get the party starting... I'll start by sharing my experience.

Recently, I have been to a Sauna place in the underground of Xian Da Hotel (on Hei Niu Cheng Rd., close to the Dodger's baseball stadium in Ti Yuan Bei). This is a regular Sauna place owned by Korean. However, some of the ladies there give pretty good HJ if you ask for European style massage (Ou Shi An Mo). seems to me that the fun places are in Tanggu and that there aint much places to go ho-ing around in tienjin. From my observations there seems to just be piano bar type of things in Tianjin.....Rainbow and felis. I also notice many Korean bars/nite clubs around. Anyone have experiece going to those type place?

What's going on in Tianjin/Tanggu? Why are there no postings here???

I occasionally have to go to Tanggu for a few days and was last time desperately trying to find the action.

Was staying at the Teda Interantional Hotel and checked out the night club there - if you don't want to get ripped of don't go there.
